Singapore Dim Sum list

Singapore Best Dim Sum

While we are at the topic of Best Dim Sum in Singapore, I thought it will be cool to have a list of dim sum restaurants in Singapore, so I dug out all the places that I have been to and called the other restaurants to compile this list.

I don’t really like to gorge myself silly on dim sum, so when it comes to ordering, I’d always prefer to go ala carte. But if you are in the mood for some dim sum buffet brunch; restaurants like Cherry Garden, Hai Tian Lo, Jade Fullerton, Jiang Nan Chun, Jing, Man Fu Yuan, and Yanting (ala carte) offer excellent dim sum buffets, albeit with a pricey bill. If you are craving for dim sum during dinner, Dim Joy will be a good place to check out.

My top three dim sum restaurants are: Yan Ting, Taste Paradise and Royal China.

Always give the restaurant a call to double confirm the pricing and make your reservation before you go. I have already done the hard part of calling all the restaurants for you, now there’s no excuse for not having your regular fix of dim sum!

Base on this list, you probably think that a) I went to a lot of restaurants for dim sum to be able to come out with a list of all the dim sum places in Singapore, and b) I love dim sum. Both are absolutely true.

Check out my list of the Best buffet in Singapore

I know a long time ago Grand Shanghai and Szechuan Court had dimsum. Perhaps for Grand Shanghai it was when it was called another name.

Victoria Peak and Noble House definitely have dimsum. If you get to Hong Kong, you shoud go to the Victoria Peak at CITIC Tower and Sun Hung Kai Centre.

    gotta love ur lists! :)

Kam Boat still my fav tho, cos it’s non-fancy but hearty traditional HK dimsum. :)

i also love the old-cantonese-resto type of setting – very comforting, cos it reminds me of my childhood, eating out with my family. hehe.

jess: hahaha okie dokie, do they serve dim sum all day?

john: are you referring to peach blossom? nope haven been there before. yeah the pricing is decent for their buffet, but i am not really a big fan of dim sum buffet

  25. John- Singapore Hotel promotion guy
    August 1st, 2010 @ 12:15 am

hey thanks for the reply. Yes, it’s peach blossom/. Just wondering, I usually have my Dim Sum at imperial treasure. but my ala carte price there adds up to about the same as peach blossom buffet. So if it’s equally good, though i might as well go peach blossom. Looks pretty classy on the outside :)

  26. ladyironchef - Singapore Food Blog
    August 6th, 2010 @ 12:46 am

John: I don’t really fancy dim sum buffet. But if you must have your buffet, i say go to Cherry Garden (48++) at Mandarin Oriental, or maybe the weekend dim sum brunch at Yanting (78++)

I love it! Their main menus are good too. But I judge a Dim sum place based on the staples of har gow and char siew puff and they totally take the cake (plus the toppings). Haaha.. Their har gow skin is thin with juicy fresh prawns and the char siew puff melts in ur mouth w v fragrant yummy char siew. I also like their ??? and roast pork! Hahaa.. My fave place. :)

You have to go try the dim sum at Victoria Peak @ Orchard Central, it’s on the 11th floor. They serve dim sun only in the mornings: 11:30pm to 2:30pm.

    January 17th, 2011 @ 10:43 pm

Hey! Thanks so much for the list! Looks so tempting! I trust your taste! What would you recommend for smthing say like dim sum lunch buffet max budget $30? The best you think!

  35. ladyironchef
    January 17th, 2011 @ 11:06 pm

Priscilla: If your budget is 30 bucks, maybe you can check out Pine Court at Meritus Mandarin, or for weekend high tea dim sum buffet, there’s Min Jiang at Goodwood Park hotel.

The best dim sum buffets are probably cherry garden, and Yanting, but they are much more expensive.

    Hi,

Really thankful for coming up with this list of dim sum places. Every time when I think of dim sum, I’ll think of your website.

    Just to check with you…

I tried looking for River City & Orient Ocean Restaurant but I can’t find their websites and from some online scources, they seemed to be no longer operating. Is it true?

As for DragonGate restaurant, are they still selling dim sum? their website didn’t seemed to show they have dim sum available.

    August 14th, 2011 @ 1:09 am

Sherly: Did you walk past the place? I’m not sure if they are still there, maybe you can share with us after you find out?

Miko: Hello, I haven been to both restaurants for a while, so not exactly sure if they are still there. Why don’t you try to give them a call?

  66. ladyironchef
    September 30th, 2011 @ 9:02 pm

Jin: Wah Lok has a baked char siew bao which is pretty good, but nothing like Tim Ho Wan’s of course. Otherwise, try the char siew sou at Yan ting or Paradise pavilion?

I would like to recommend “Wo Peng Cuisine” at Furama Hotel 3rd floor located in ChinaTown. You will be surprised about the great taste of roasted Siew Mai, Prawn Dumpling, Wanton Soup, etc.

Hi, i would like to ask, after all this time, is taste paradise, yan ting and royal china still your top three choices for the best dim sum in singapore or are there emerging competitors that is worth a try? (:

I’m looking for a dim-sum restaurant because the ones we’ve been to always disappoint :/

  74. ladyironchef
    January 31st, 2012 @ 8:07 am

@Mil Yes those three are still my favourite dim sum places, but I’d suggest paradise pavilion over taste paradise. (Both of them are under the same group.)

Thank you, your list of sharing was an insight, while I’m searching for early morning dim sum hidout reseach. Meanwhile, here to share with u, Tak Po Dim Sum @42-46 Smith Street, Singapore. Their queue starts strangely perpendicular to the walkway, in front of the cashier counter though…

  82. Chee-Wee
    April 27th, 2012 @ 12:02 pm

Hello which one win your vote for Dim Sum other than your fav 3…Hua Ting, Majestic Restaurant & Li Bai. Majestic Restaurant has limited variety even on weekend. Any other recommendation?

  83. ladyironchef
    April 27th, 2012 @ 1:04 pm

@cheewee Other than my three favourite restaurants – Yan Ting, Paradise Pavilion, and Royal China – I would also recommend Cherry Garden and Crystal Jade Golden Palace. Hua Ting is not too bad, but I haven’t been there for a long time, so I am not sure if it’s still as good.
