Club at Hyatt

Regular readers and followers will know what big fans we are of the restaurants at Grand Hyatt Singapore. There’s the afternoon tea at 10 SCOTTS that we love, pizzas and pastas at Pete’s Place, local delights at StraitsKitchen’s popular uniquely Singaporean buffet spread, a round of BBQ buffet by the poolside at Oasis, and lunch at our favourite mezza9, the five signature restaurants at Grand Hyatt Singapore offer options for all occasions, and we can never get tired of dining there.

What if we tell you that you can get 50% discounts at all the restaurants in Grand Hyatt Singapore without any strings attached? How marvellous would life be? As a member of Club at The Hyatt, there are numerous dining benefits that you get to enjoy, including dining discounts of up to 50% at any of the five restaurants at Grand Hyatt Singapore, 15% off special festive menus and promotions, as well as additional privilege like complimentary parking of up to four hours. All these for just S$298 nett per annum for the basic membership.

Slow-roasted Beef Short Rib

And to make the deal an even sweeter one, get the membership card with a cheque book (with S$220 worth of dining vouchers that you can use at Grand Hyatt Singapore) at S$448 nett per annum. Needless to say, if you dine out or entertain your clients regularly, this is one card that you should definitely consider. The cost of the membership actually translates to greater cost savings. So essentially you are getting the card for free with a few visits to the restaurants.

Your Club at The Hyatt membership allows you unlimited dining benefits at mezza9, Pete’s Place, 10 SCOTTS, Oasis and StraitsKitchen. Single diners enjoy a 15% discount, while dining as a pair will entitle you to a whopping 50% off the bill, and 25% off if you dine in a group of four.

Cook & Brew Gastrobar The Westin Singapore

Cook & Brew

Beer? Checked. Meats and sausages? Checked. Pasta and local delights? Checked. Wines of The World? Checked.

That is Cook & Brew at The Westin Singapore for you. The comforting gastrobar is a star addition to our local dining scene, one that has earned our loyalty with its extensive menu and addictive relaxing vibe. The cosy interior furnished with oak browns and wood elements is very much like a typical German living room where you can enjoy your comfort food and chill out with friends and families. Over good beers too, of course. There is a whopping 104 beers from 18 countries to choose from!

Cook & Brew westin Singapore

Unpretentious. Fuss-free. Chic. Sexy.

We love the huge space so much, though not as much as the chef who has recently put together a spanking new menu that leaves us mind-boggled and spoilt for choice so completely. And how can we not shout about the unobstructed view of the Marina, again?

Cook & Brew at The Westin Singapore www.facebook.com/thewestinsingapore opens for the whole day, making it the perfect location for all occasions. Drop by during your lunch hour for a casual and relaxing meal, or pop by in the middle of afternoon to grab a beer and some light snacks. In the evening, it is a lovely place to have some pre-dinner drinks with your colleagues or friends before treating yourself to a well-deserved dinner.

Here, we share with you our picks from Cook & Brew’s current repertoire, and please do not leave without trying the German Platter. Yes, we mean it.

Cafe Mosaic, Carlton Hotel Singapore

Cafe Mosaic

Buffet restaurants are aplenty, and we will never fall short of choices. Fresh seafood, pots of hot soup, salad bars and bread counters, ala minute stations, daily roast… there is always something to get excited about, but not all buffets are created equal. Cafe Mosaic is a humble outlet at Carlton Hotel Singapore that sees a stable crowd every day, and it is only understandable why patrons pledge their loyalty.

For one, the menu rotates and you can always expect surprises from the chef even if you go seven consecutive days a week. The breads are freshly baked in-house daily, and they make a hearty start to your meal. We also loved the plump and juicy mussels at the fresh seafood station, we lost count of the number of bowls of double boiled Cantonese soup we had, and we couldn’t have enough of the cold appetisers.

Main courses are always a combination of continental and international highlights, and if you are lucky to go on days when the chef dishes out his signature Cod Fish in Pumpkin Sauce, you must not miss the world for this. Meat lovers can help themselves to endless servings of the daily roast, and there are teppanyaki options, too. Don’t forget to stop by the DIY station; expect local delights like Rojak and Gado-gado.

If you go during dinner, pamper your palate with a wider selection that includes a cheese platter and free flow of oysters.

Cafe Mosaic Dessert

All buffets have to end on a sweet note, so we say eat as many slices of Signature Red Velvet Cake as you can. For those who need your cocoa fix, Chocolate Mousse is your answer. And if all else fails, treat yourself to the Signature Café Mosaic Cheesecake.
