With Dutch DJ Lindo Martinez spinning cosmopolitan tunes and deep house grooves, indulge in an amazing spread with free flow of Veuve Clicquot champagne, wines, beers, and cocktails. Spend your Sundays in an unparalleled gourmet world – from daily bakes, to salad assortments, to the freshest catch from the ocean, to roasts and vegetables… we just wish we had the stomach to try everything. So, go with an empty stomach – and we mean it.
Seasonal Tastes’ culinary and service team all work with a uniform passion – a passion to serve their best to you. The chef always listens to his guests, and is always improving on the spread to best pamper everyone’s palate.
At S$42++ for lunch buffet, it is quite an unbeatable price. To add to that, the spread is extremely satisfying, and we could really eat to our hearts’ content without busting our budgets. Dinner buffet is priced at S$62++ – an amazing spread that is unrivalled and definitely among the most affordable hotel buffet dinners. You get to indulge in your array of seafood (seafood lovers have to go on Fridays because that is Seafood Night S$75++) and free-flow of roasts and sushi, while you unwind and enjoy your evening with the company of an unobstructed view of the Marina.
And if you do not mind the splurge, how about treating yourself to The Brunch Beats at Seasonal Tastes? Easily one of the bests in town, and for one, if you have ever been to heaven, this is twice as nice.
Here are 10 things we love about The Brunch Beats at Seasonal Tastes, The Westin Singapore.
A WHOLE SUCKLING PIG
You have no idea how excited we were to see suckling pig among the offerings. At The Brunch Beats, the chefs will prepare four suckling pigs for the champagne brunch, so you can rest assure that there will be more than enough to go around. And you can have any amount you want!
THE HEAVENLY DESSERT SHRINE
Love at first sight. Once you step into Seasonal Tastes, you will be greeted by the shrine. The Westin is known for its Heavenly Spa and Heavenly bed, but we have something else to add to the list – the Heavenly Dessert Shrine at Seasonal Tastes.
The dessert buffet is among the most impressive in town, and the pastry chefs always go all out to wow us – every single time. The options change all the time; look forward to beautiful creations like the citrus lemon cake, raisin cinnamon cheesecake, rainbow cake, the exceptional spiced carrot cake and the dazzling matcha chocolate fondue. Also, the homemade gelato is noteworthy. The dark chocolate and raspberry are excellent, but we always end off our meal with two scoops of our favourite avocado and tiramisu.
FREE FLOW OF VEUVE CLICQUOT CHAMPAGNE
This is pretty self-explanatory. Free flow of Veuve Clicquot champagne – this is quite the paradise for champagne lovers.
A SELECTION OF COCKTAILS, BEERS, AND WINES
Not to worry even if you are not a big fan of champagne. The Brunch Beats has quite a selection of beers, red and white wines, as well as cocktails like mojito, margarita and bloody Mary. Dress up for Champagne brunch, pick your poison, and behave yourself.
LIVE MUSIC BY DUTCH DJ LINDO MARTINEZ
The cosmopolitan tunes and deep house grooves by DJ Lindo make a huge difference, and his passionate spinning penchants the whole restaurant with a positive and energetic vibe.
VIEW OVERLOOKING SINGAPORE’S SOUTHERN COAST
What we appreciate is the view that overlooks Singapore’s southern coast. It makes us wonder what Singapore will look like in ten years’ time, and gives us the space to slow down and enjoy life with a champagne flute in hand.
FOR A TASTE OF OCEAN
Mussels, scallops, prawns, lobsters, king crab legs, and freshly shucked oysters… Our hearts skipped a beat, and we could not help but gush about the glorious seafood selection at The Brunch Beats, which offers a lot more seafood than its usual lunch and dinner buffets.
SUSHI AND SASHIMI GALORE
Intricate, luxurious, satisfying, elegant… Japanese food is always a good idea. The Brunch Beats has an assortment of gunkan, nigiri and maki which will make you go crazy. But we would say go easy on the sushi and save room for the other stuff. On display here are also various kinds of salmon – smoked salmon, coffee cured salmon, and Thai style salmon.
THE MEAT STATION WITH RIBEYE, TENDERLOIN AND SAUSAGES
There is also a meat station where you can get ribeye, tenderloin and a selection of sausages cooked ala minute on the grill. Tell the chef your preference for the meat, and he will prepare it on the spot. Rejoice, all carnivores!
THERE IS ALWAYS SOMETHING NEW TO LOOK OUT FOR
Like what we have mentioned in our previous feature on Seasonal Tastes, the food menu at Seasonal Tastes is always rotating to keep things fresh and interesting. Some days, Thai food takes the center stage, and guests will be treated to an array of Thai dishes on the buffet line. Whenever seasons call for it, the Indian and Chinese chefs would take over and showcase the bests of their ethnic dishes.
Among all the champagne brunches that we have been to in Singapore – and we have been to almost all of them – The Westin Singapore’s The Brunch Beats easily comes up top. The marriage of an impressionable buffet spread and a splendiferous view is a winning formula; together with the upbeat music by DJ Lindo, and a dedicated team that is ever passionate to serve you the best, a splurge at Seasonal Tastes’ The Brunch Beats is quite the perfect note to your Sundays.
