First established as an online pâtisserie in 2018 by local pastry chefs Germaine Li and Joy Chiam, Pâtisserie CLÉ (clé is French for ‘key’) specialises in French cakes, tarts, and bakes.
Pâtisserie CLÉ is perhaps best known for its Tart Gift Box with a choice of eight tarts and other than its signature Orh Blanc Tart—which is an interesting fusion of the French Mont Blanc dessert and the local orh nee flavour—you have to try their beautiful Lemon Meringue Tart (S$8) which features a refreshing and velvety lemon cream, topped with Italian meringue. Shubby Sweets’ Lemon Loaf (S$3) was incredibly moist and fluffy and flavoured with aromatic lemon essence. We could also taste a slight bitterness, balancing out the treat’s tart sweetness. The crust was also well-toasted, adding a crisp textural contrast to the soft cake.
