Hammee’s—a popular burger hawker stall at Commonwealth Crescent Market—took a short hiatus from selling burgers and it converted the stall to selling Nasi ayam goreng and Nasi lemak in March 2021 this year.
Fans of Hammee’ burgers will be thrilled to know that they have made a comeback on 21 October 2021.
Wildfire Burgers—a fast casual concept which specialises in burgers and fried chicken—has opened a second outlet at 1557 Keppel Road, near to Tanjong Pagar.
The burger restaurant was first established in 2015, but it took a hiatus in mid-2019 to work on its menu, before reopening on 1 June 2020 at Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) in Bras Basah.
We haven’t been this excited about a new cafe in a while, until Simplicité by Fresh Fruits Lab came along. This new Parisian-style cafe in the East of Singapore was previously Fresh Fruits Lab, and recently underwent a major revamp.
Staying at the top of their game and always slaying, the owner—who is our good friend—strives to bring diners value-for-money quality fare in a relaxing atmosphere. Its menu offers a range of modern European favourites, with a good selection of mocktails and cocktails too. Fans of Fresh Fruits Lab will also be happy to know that they have retained several popular dishes on the menu.
Let’s just say they are a Parisian-style cafe in the day, and a laid-back neighbourhood bar at night. Simplicité by Fresh Fruits Lab is definitely our of our new favourite cafes in the East of Singapore.

The famous London dining concept Burger & Lobster is finally opening in Singapore on 20 May 2019 with its first outlet at Jewel Changi Airport.
This isn’t the restaurant chain’s first outlet in Asia—there’s one at Genting Highlands and another in Bangkok—but we are glad that there is no need to cross the borders anymore if we want to have a taste of their iconic grilled lobster and lobster roll.
Burger & Lobster Singapore will be located at the Canopy Park on Jewel’s topmost level. Changi Airport has just announced that Jewel Changi Airport will be opening on 17 April 2019, but the Canopy Park will be open to the public only in the middle of the year.
