Our Weekend Getaway to Hong Kong started with a bang as we were the last to board the plane. I don’t like drama, but somehow, drama always find me. To cut a long story short, we managed to get on the plane under the glares of the other impatient passengers. But who cares about them, this is our little secret adventure to Hong Kong!
Alongside Holland Village, Chip Bee Garden, Greenwood Avenue & Rochester Park, Sunset Way is another food dining destination in the West of Singapore. Using the limited space under the flats, the Sunset Way Restaurants managed to create an unique al fresco dining area which is totally unexpected of a heartland place.

While we were having brunch at Wild Honey, my friends casually mentioned that 4 Fingers Bonchon at Ion Orchard has the best chicken wings in Singapore. Since then, I have been thinking about their chicken wings all day long, and when my friend wanted to meet at Ion Orchard, I told her that we had to try the 4 Fingers Bonchon crispy chicken!
If you buy me an air ticket, I will immediately fly off to Spain. I have always read about the Spanish culture, and I think that the whole idea of bar-hopping is brilliant. Unfortunately, we do not have that many Spanish restaurants and tapas bars in Singapore and it doesn’t make sense to cab from one end of Singapore to the other. But hey, I think it will be really cool to find a group of friends for a night of tapas-bar-hopping.

If you are a fan of tapas, Salt Tapas Bar at Raffles City by celebrity chef Luke Mangan is one place that you should check out. It serves Aussie-style tapas with the freshest ingredients.
Many people have the perception that Salt Tapas & Bar is very expensive. This is true. Most of the tapas are in the $20 to $30 range, and you can easily spend at least $100 for a meal here. But what you might not know that it has a fantastic lunch set for just $33.50++/pax. It includes a flat bread to share, and 3 tapas per person. When you consider the fact that most of the dishes on the set lunch menu are from the ala carte menu, you will agree that it is a very good deal.

Most people probably won’t associate Spanish Tapas with Little India, but that’s exactly where Zsofi Tapas Bar is located. The whole area may be a little sleazy, but Zsofi Tapas Bar is cosy and unpretentious, and most importantly the Spanish food is affordable.

This is my first visit to Crystal Jade.
Okay please stop staring at me as though I’m a weirdo. When I mentioned on twitter that I have not been to Crystal Jade before, everyone gave me the ‘what-is-wrong-with-you’ reply.
I can understand the reactions, since there are so many different Crystal Jade restaurants in Singapore. From the fine dining Crystal Jade Palace restaurant, to the family-oriented Crystal Jade restaurant, Crystal Jade Korean Ginseng Chicken & BBQ or the causal dining options like Crystal Jade Kitchen and Crystal Jade La Mien Xiao Long Bao – there are options for everyone.
So when I finally stepped into Crystal Jade La Mien Xiao Long Bao at Ngee Ann City, there was a slight tingling sensation in my stomach. ‘Hello Crystal Jade, I’m finally here!’

It makes me very happy whenever my friends or readers tell me that they are reading through my archives to look for a suitable restaurant for dinner. But the problem is, I think many of you are not doing it the right way.
I regret to say that the search bar in my blog isn’t that powerful. But hey, there’s two brilliant quotes that go like this: ‘I may not be a genius, but I’ll always have Google’ (via monoxious), and ‘Google is your best friend’ (via dweam).
Here’s a step-by-step tutorial on how to find a particular restaurant on my food blog. 1) Go to Google.com 2) type in “ladyironchef xx restaurant” (where xx refers to name of restaurant). Alternatively, there’s a quicker and easier method: click on the INDEX page which is located at the top right hand corner of my food blog. I’m sure many of you are not aware of this page, but it is a list of all the restaurants (categorized from A – Z) that I have blog about.

When our dear friend Kenny was in Singapore for work recently, we were having a headache where to bring him for dinner — until someone suggested Cafe De Hong Kong at Balestier.
It’s always good to have a friend in town as it provides us with the perfect excuse to pig-out. It’s also a not-so-regular dinner outing for a group of lazy food bloggers.
The Daily Scoop is one of the earlier homemade ice cream places in Singapore. They started off with a small cafe at Clementi Arcade off Sunset Way, and recently opened another new outlet at Chips Bee Garden. It has been almost three years since my last visit, and I thought that was a good enough reason for an ice cream party!
