Potterheads will be thrilled with the opening of The Wizard’s Brew, a new Harry Potter-Themed dessert shop & bar in Singapore.

Welcome to the enchanting realm of The Wizard’s Brew! Located at 10B Trengganu Street in Chinatown, this Harry Potter-themed dessert bar is a hidden gem which even locals do not know about.

Step inside this Harry Potter-themed dessert cafe and bar, you’ll be immediately transported to the mystical realm of Hogwarts carefully crafted to recreate the awe-inspiring atmosphere of the books and movies.

Drawing inspiration from the beloved Harry Potter series, The Wizard’s Brew exudes an enchanting atmosphere with its floating candles, multi-coloured clouds, decorative chandeliers, expansive shelves adorned with mystical books, and an intricately designed faux fireplace.

The medieval-gothic aesthetic captivates Potterheads, immersing them in the wizard world. Isn’t this like a dream come true?! We were in awe of the attention to details at every nook and cranny.

The Wizard’s Brew has specially crafted a whimsical range of spell-binding cocktails and desserts (made from scratch by their in-house bakery) to create a truly magical experience.

Set the Witches Hat (S$19) ablaze and you will find a beautiful Valrhona milk chocolate mousse with crunchy pearls and chocolate sponge cake.

The human-like Mandrake is made of chocolate ganache and you can use it as a spoon to scoop up the strawberry shortcake in the Baby Root (S$22, good for 2 pax to share) egg-shaped pot.

Topped with Baileys pearls, The Reaper’s Gold (S$16) is a delicious tiramisu that will go very well with a cocktail. This is also homemade and is definitely one of the better tiramisus we’ve had in Singapore of late.

The rum-based Phoenix Fire (S$22) cocktail is a real showstopper. Blink and you will miss the show.

To conjure the spell, add the saliva of the fiery dragon, elixir from the ethereal fountain, tears from the singing mermaid and mix it with the secret potion in the bubbling cauldron.

And complete the spell by chanting the incantation that is given with The Wizard’s Brew (S$22).

There is also a selection of savoury tapas (S$9 – $13) including Tater Tots, Nachos Chips, Buffalo Wings, Cheesy Meat Balls. Nothing magical about them, but they will go very well with your magic potions.

If you are looking for somewhere to celebrate Halloween in Singapore, look no further than The Wizard’s Brew. The talented pastry chefs have created special desserts just for the occasion.

Grab your ward, put on your wizard’s robe and get your cameras ready for the desserts and cocktails that come with a theatrical showmanship. This was honestly such a fun experience and we can’t wait to be back already!

Created by Genevieve Lee, runner-up of MasterChef Singapore 2018, Sourbombe Artisanal Bakery started out as a home-based business with an e-commerce website during the pandemic in 2020 and it quickly made waves with its Sourdough Bomboloni—combining sourdough and the Italian ‘bomb’ shaped doughnuts.

Sourbombe Artisanal Bakery is opening their first physical store at Park Mall with a soft launch on 3 July 2021. The official opening date will be on 8 July 2021.

Sourbombe Artisanal Bakery’s 900 sq ft store at Park Mall will have a takeaway kiosk, retail section and a production kitchen that can cater to both online and retail sales. Online pre-orders and group buys will continue for fixed boxes of 9 Sourbombes, with the option of delivery or collection in-store.

You can also choose to visit the store to pick your Sourdough Bomboloni and get some drinks including cold brew coffee, house-made kombucha and dairy-free tea lattes.

Expect a total of 9 sourbombe flavours, including 6 best-selling signatures and 3 limited edition flavours, which will be introduced quarterly based on seasonal ingredients.

The 6 signature sourbombe flavours include:

Cinnabombe (plain)
The OG Sourbombe in full sour glory, dusted with cinnamon and sugar.

Blueberry & Lemon Thyme
A fruity summer bombe of lemon cream, blueberry jam and fragrant thyme

Lavender Lime Mascarpone
Velvety mascarpone infused with aromatic lavender and bright citrus lime

Basque Burnt Cheesecake
Molten lava explosions of cream cheese and blue cheese, the ultimate umami bombe

Hojicha Caramel
Fragrant Houjicha cold-steeped in milk and sprinkled with toothsome caramel crunch

Passionfruit & Caramelised Banana
A tropical paradise of ambrosial passionfruit mixed with caramelised banana cream

The bakery also has plans to launch a new range of experimental sourdough bakes—including sourdough croissants—later this year. We cannot wait to try them soon!

Established in 2014, Pantler started its original store at Telok Ayer and it is one awesome patisserie that will chase all your Monday Blues away with their gourmet creations. It has recently moved to a bigger space at 474 River Valley Road on 20 Feb 2021.

From choux puffs to glazed cakes and croissants, Pantler has them all.

Edith Patisserie has created Bubble Tea Tarts (S$8.50) that are made of handmade almond tart shells and a luscious tea-infused ganache that come in three flavours: Milk Tea, Thai Milk Tea and Matcha. The highlight of this dessert is, of course, the boba tea pearls that add an element of delightful chewiness and excitement to the decadent tart.

Not only are these tarts highly Instagram-worthy, but they are also incredibly gooey and a satisfying treat that is worth all the calories.

Scanning through their stacked rows of golden-brown pastries, we immediately knew that we had to try their 27-Layer Croissant (S$3.20).
Hailing from Osaka, Asian Rad Afters specializes in beautifully handcrafted egglet waffles, of which they have termed “Bubble Waffles”. They are served with various flavours of ice cream and a plethora of delicious toppings.

They have finally opened up a small storefront at hipster cafe-hopper paradise, Bali Lane, and have created a special Singapore-exclusive menu for their brand new outlet!

The storefront is conveniently located at the front of Bali Lane, along the same street as other well-known cafes such as Stateland Cafe and Krave. The space sports a bright aqua coloured exterior with floral decor that is hard to miss.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="width: 336px;height: 280px"></ins>//

Some of the flavours they offer in Osaka for their Bubble Waffles range are the Nutty Caramel (topped with banana slices, caramel, nuts and popcorn), Very Berry Chocolate (topped with dried berries, nuts and oreo) and their ever-popular Blue City Chocolate (topped with oreo, blue whipped cream, popcorn, nuts and banana slices).

For their Singapore outlet at Bali Lane, they have released a special lineup of fruity desserts and colourful drinks, featuring all sorts of tropical fruits that Singapore has to offer. Their signature Bubble Waffles will be topped with dragonfruit, pineapple and fruit loops, named Peranakan Road. Their tropical fruit parfaits, coined “Fruitful Day”, are topped with pineapples, strawberries, kiwis and more pineapple.

For drinks, you can expect four fruity refreshers (from left to right): Princess Yang Kweifei, Kuta Beach, Arabian Nights and Bonsai Citrus. Like the rest of their Singapore-exclusive menu, their drinks are also made with various tropical fruits and citrus.

Give their beautiful ice-cream filled bubble waffles a try if you’re in the area and maybe you can update your Instagram feed while you’re at it, too!

Cafes come and go but we can tell you that this hidden gem of a bakery is currently one of the best patisseries in Singapore. Despite its tiny space, it is comfortable and smells of fresh croissants with a hint of dried roses.

Sugar Thieves, opened in December last year, is a local bakery that specializes in mousse cakes and croissants. Their desserts are not just pleasing to the eye, but taste absolutely ambrosial on your tongue too.

Tucked away in the quiet streets of Kreta Ayer is the small, cosy bakery—Sugar Thieves. They can be easily missed so keep a look out for their modern wooden-panelled exterior and white signboard. Or just try spotting their freshly baked croissants sitting near the window.

The moment you step inside, all you can smell is the buttery aroma of their croissants. They have many flavours and they do change occasionally; this includes flavours such as Houjicha (S$6.50), Hokkaido Milk (S$5.50) and even a Truffle Parmesan flavour (S$7)!

We tried the Houjicha Croissant and it did not disappoint. It was crispy, flaky and most importantly, stuffed full of light and fluffy Houjicha cream. We initially had our doubts on how strong the tea flavour would turn out to be but it exceeded expectations.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>//

LIGHTNING CARS

The perfect dish for your boys (or girls who love cars!), the Lightning Cars (S$12) is a simple yet hearty grilled chicken that is tender and flavourful despite the fact that no salt is used in cooking.

This chicken main is served with purple sweet potato purée and mixed fruit skewers for a more balanced meal.

CREEPY-CRAWLY

Fancy something more filling for the older kids? The Creepy-Crawly (S$13) is a wholesome tortilla wrap that is jam-packed with yummy smoked duck, onion, lettuce and carrots.

There is also a side of homemade fruit yogurt—blueberry, strawberry, granola, honey yoghurt.

ULTIMATE PEANUT BUTTER CHOC CAKE

FFL has a dedicated pastry chef and he bakes the prettiest French-style sweets. The one that we really love is the Ultimate Peanut Butter Choc Cake.

Priced at S$7.50, this decadent treat is our newfound guilty pleasure. Every mouthful of the dense cake is so rewarding; the taste of the rich peanut butter lingers on.

TEA BY LUPICIA INFUSED CAKE

For a lighter but no less satisfying cake option, this doll is your best bet. The Tea by Lupicia Infused Cake is also priced at S$7.50 and it totally reminds us of sweets we’d see in French patisseries.

The whiff of the aromatic tea will first enrapture you, and as you take a bite, you’d realize just how well balanced the sweet and bitter notes of the tea are.

EMERALD GREEN APPLE TEA

The Emerald Green Apple Tea (S$12) may not sound like much, but just wait until you see it in real life. Served in a test tube, the Emerald Green is made of butterfly pea tea, green apple juice and soda water. Get your phone ready and watch as the staff adds in edible dry ice for a mini explosion. We won’t spoil it for you; make sure you order the drink when you are at Fresh Fruits Lab!

COLOURED LATTES

Just when you thought coloured lattes are so gimmicky, you might want to consider trying FFL’s versions. These 4 pretty colours are all achieved using natural ingredients.

There is the Beetroot Latte which boasts a shocking shade of pink, the Sweet Potato Latte which is the gorgeous lavender-coloured cup, the Butterfly Pea Latte which spots a dreamy blue hue, and the Matcha Latte in the usual green.

Because zero artificial colouring is used for these lattes, you shouldn’t expect a super sweet cup with strong flavour notes. Instead, think good old latte with nuances of sweetness and aroma.

This is where our list comes in handy for all the dessert lovers—it covers all sorts of desserts from ice cream to shaved ice bowls and even the Korean bingsu.

Here are 10 Dessert Parlours In Singapore To Satisfy Your Night Time Sweet Tooth.

Helmed by Janice Wong, her award-winning artisan desserts are fascinating to say the least.

Their signature dessert is the Cassis Plum, which comes with cassis bombe, elderflower yoghurt foam, choya granita, yuzu pearls and yuzu rubies.

This small dessert shop along Liang Seah Street is always filled with loyal patrons, especially during Friday nights and weekends as they are known to serve consistently good desserts.

Dessert First is perhaps most well known for its Durian Snow Ice, featuring smooth shaved ice with a scoop of real durian flesh. Something more filling is the Signature Durian Waffle, which comprises a piping hot fluffy waffle topped with durian puree, a scoop of vanilla ice cream, chocolate sauce drizzle and a handful of almonds.
