Nuffnang is organizing their first ever Regional Blog Award (read: regional), and the five finalist in each of the eleven categories are up for voting now. And all the nominated blogs are strong contenders in their own field, so it’s amazing that they managed to narrow down from hundreds, if not thousands of blogs in the Asia Pacific region to just five in each category.
When all my friends raved about Kim’s family restaurant, I know I have to check it out. Prior to this, my past experience with Korean food was limited to two places, so yes, up till now I have no idea how exactly an authentic kimchi taste like. The comprehensive menu meant that we spent another additional ten minutes flipping through before we finally decided on our orders.
I’m a simple person, with a simple taste bud, however nobody ever believe me. Even though the food at fine dining restaurant is good, but it’s not me, I prefer going to small, unpretentious, and cozy places instead.
The idea of a Venezuelan feast started when one of my reader, and friend, Mike asked whether I was keen to sample some Venezuelan food. I agreed immediately, it’s not everyday where you get to try authentic Latin America cuisine, so we had to try the food prepared by Mike’s wife who is from Venezuela.
This, was suppose to be done in July, somehow it was dragged till August, but it’s better to be late than never. And like everytime, I had lots of fun chatting with everybody, it’s very interesting to finally meet all the folks who have been quietly reading my blog for the longest time. From online to offline, now I can put a picture to your nick.
I’ve made a verbal promises to all the folks who were present for my previous outing that I would do my next one, which was this one, very soon, probably in June I said. And then June passed by in a wink and came July. But July seemed to disappear pretty fast too! And that’s why we have August.

A while back, I received several emails telling me that I’ve been nominated for the Category, “Best food blog” by Omy, so I sleepily went to sign up for it, and completely forgotten about it. Last week I got a call from the folks at Omy, that I’ve been chosen as one of the ten finalist for the food blog category! The voting period starts from June 15th until July 31th, only one vote is allowed each day, and you even need to login to participate, what a bummer!
My vote goes to Camemberu, I’ve been an avid reader of Catherine’s blog since a long time ago; her posts are always full of enthusiasm, I can always feel her excitement and earnest attitude when she writes about food.
