You somehow know that you are in for a night of fun when the first line of the director’s message for the musical you are watching speaks of a nine-month old baby stuck to her boob.

That is exactly the kind of musical Hansel and Gretel is: hilarious, irreverent, spontaneous and like its director, Pam Oei, full of fun and creativity. Nothing binds the people of Singapore like their proud food culture, and what better way to showcase this love of food than through the quintessential food-centric fairy tale of Hansel and Gretel? Only this time, Creative Director Alfian Sa’at, Composer Elaine Chan and first time director Oei have reinvented this timeless tale into what could well be a Singapore’s classic.

With its diverse range of products, Nestle has always been a big part of my life. Milo has accompanied me throughout the years, while KitKat has never failed to cheer me up when I need a break. You can also find Koko Krunch, Maggi, and Smarties in my kitchen.

So when I first knew that I would be visiting Nestle Headquarters in Vevey Switzerland, I was very excited. Well, I think the word ‘excited’ is an understatement. I was thrilled and very happy.

Visiting Nestle’s headquarters in Switzerland has got to be one of the highlights of my entire year. I mean, how often do you get a chance like that? Not only did we visit the headquarters, we also explored Vevey (a quaint little town by the Lake Geneva), visited the cheese factory, took a tour in Nestle Cailler chocolate factory, tasted Swiss cuisine, and enjoyed the magnificent scenery.

Nestle, as we all know, is the world’s leading Nutrition, Health and Wellness company. Besides having lots of fun, I also had the privilege of learning more about the brand during this trip.

I’ve always walked past Prego Italian Restaurant when I am at Raffles City, but for some reason I never visited it. Thankfully, the good people at Fairmont Singapore invited me over for lunch, and I had a great meal there.

I wasn’t expecting much of Prego, if only because there are too many mediocre Italian restaurants in town, so I was pleasantly surprised to find that this was one of the better ones that I’d tried in recent months.

Last month, I had the chance to visit Nestle’s headquarters in Switzerland and it was a amazing trip as I learned so much about the brand.

Nestle, the world’s leading Nutrition, Health and Wellness company, is a familiar name for everyone. From your favourite Milo, to KitKat and Smarties, to Nespresso and Maggi – these are products that have accompanied us for many years, and are firmly part of our daily lives.

This year, Nestle celebrates its 100 years in Singapore. It has built a special bond with Singaporeans by being present in our lives through the offering of nourishing products enjoyed by all in the family.

As part of its celebration, the company has started an initiative “Nestle 100 Wishes” to fulfil the wishes of 100 lucky people this year. It’s really nice to see a big company like Nestle giving back to the community.
