Nestled in the quiet Triple One Somerset, Fukuichi Japanese Dining serves decent Japanese food at pocket-friendly prices. You can get set lunches such as Tempura Teishoku and Sashimi Teishoku from $20, while bento and dinner sets are between $25-40. I find it very reasonable for the quality and portion.
If I am meeting my friends in Orchard Road, I will definitely go to Fukuichi, it is my newest go-to place when craving for Japanese food.
I had the Sushi Teishoku ($20), which comes with a generous serving of sushi; while my dining companion ordered the Saba Shioyaki Set ($18). Both were excellent.
An assortment of sashimi goes for $38, otherwise you can get them individually: Salmon ($15), Scallop ($18), Toro ($35), Maguro ($18).
The Spider Maki ($15) – deep fried soft shell crab roll – was also delicious. If you are not a fan of soft shell crab, go for other popular choices like California Roll ($12), or Seared Salmon Roll ($20).
Also available on the menu are sushi hand rolls like the Tuna & Spring Onion Hand Roll ($12), Crab Meat Hand Roll ($3), and Eel with Cucumber Hand Roll ($6).
Fukuichi offers excellent set meals at good prices. With its stellar location, the Japanese restaurant is a hidden gem in town. I am surprised that it is not as popular as I’d have expected it to be. The restaurant definitely deserves your support.

The prices are are sky high compared to places like sushi tei and ichiban boshi. Quality wise its not that much different. I do not recommend this place.
