Henry Congressional is a pop-up cafe by the folks behind Smitten Coffee. The coffee place is located in the quaint Holland Grove, and it will only be there till 31 Dec 2012. So, if you have been wanting to visit it, make sure you make the trip soon.

Hill Top Japanese Restaurant Singapore

Hill Top Japanese Restaurant has been around for many years and it has always been known as one of the famous teppanyaki restaurants in Singapore.
Stepping inside the restaurant, located on a hill above Jurong Birdpark, we were surprised by the crowd for such an inaccessible place. It was a Friday night, and the humble, dimly-lit restaurant was full. The crowd was a good mix of couples and families – we see how much Singaporeans love teppanyaki.
HAN Restaurant Singapore
HAN Restaurant at Odeon Towers is a kushikatsu speciality restaurant that serves Japanese skewers kaiseki-style. During lunch, they have a lunch set of seven sticks for $75, while omakase at dinner starts from $120.
I know you cannot really go wrong with deep-fried stuff, but trust me, the offerings at HAN restaurant are not your typical greasy and sinful food. How should I put it? Every stick that we had was fresh, flavourful, and most importantly, not oily to the extent that you will feel sick after eating it. In fact, we still wanted more after we had seven to eight sticks.

I have a love-hate relationship with brunch. I really like the idea of sleeping in during weekends and waking up late for brunch. But sometimes, I can’t help but feel that we are short-changing ourselves by only eating brunch, instead of having breakfast AND lunch.
Luckily, there are certain things in life that can get you out of bed on a weekend morning, and one of them is attending your good friend’s birthday breakfast (though I think birthday brunch sounds nicer than breakfast).
Hummerstons restaurant at Robertson Walk features comfort food like burgers, pastas, truffle fries and breakfast. Even though I go to Robertson Quay quite often, I’ve never seen the restaurant before. It is the perfect place for a quiet dinner with your date.

Haato is an ice cream parlour in Singapore which is known for their Japanese ice cream flavours. I was at their Central branch recently, and that place is ideal for people-watching while having a scoop of sorbet.

And being a hawker isn’t a glamorous job, compared to being a banker, lawyer, teacher or other professionals. Therefore, most of the heritage hawkers don’t any successor, and we risk losing out all the good food, which our future younger generations will not live to eat.
