If you are among those who never understand the appeal of forking out a couple of dollars for a cup of frozen yogurt (FroYo or Frogurt) — hey we belong to the same kind, I totally understand how you feel — I was once the same, until recently.
I know that there are people who have been puzzled by my recent tweets about living a healthier lifestyle, and eating yogurt daily. Addiction is an understatement when I have been testing out all the Meiji yogurt, F & N Alive yogurt and Marigold Yogurt. If you must know the reason, everything started with this question two weeks ago:
“Why don’t you eat Yogurt? It helps in digestion and it’s good for your skin complexion too!”
I am not sure how true this claim is, but I decided there’s no harm giving it a shot. In recent months, we have seen many new Yogurt places in Singapore, and this can only be good news for all the Fro-Yo fans.
Till date, I have only tried BerryLite once, and sadly that was it. What? You mean you have never tried Red Mango, or Yami Yogurt or Yoguru or.. or even Frolick?!? I know, I know.
Now, I need to make up for lost time and look for the best yogurt in Singapore. I have come up with a list of all the yogurt places in Singapore — please tell me which yogurt shop is your favorite, and why I MUST have it.

If you asked me a couple of months ago will I ever choose yogurt over ice cream – the answer is definitely no. But hey, people do change, so I reckon I’d look here for new yogurt places rather than my list of Ice Cream Places in Singapore.
I am a HUGE yoghurt fan and have gone around sg trying all the yoghurt shops. I really like the new DIY concept that sogurt and swirl art has as they offer a greater selection of flavours and greater control of what you take. However, SOGURT tops my list of favourite yoghurt shops as their yoghurt is especially refreshing(not too heavy), have live cultures, and they have the best selection of flavours and toppings. I loved how the fruit toppings were fresh and everything else was nicely presented and tasty. (swirl art’s was really bad comparatively) Service was great as well, the girls were patient and friendly and explained everything to us in detail. Overall, I would say that sogurt is a Must Try and it lives up to the hype!
My personal opinion is… If you support frolick, yami yogurt etc…, you have not tried Red Mango! Red Mango is heavenly, divine! Although newly open in Singapore, it has been around for quite awhile in other counrties. First time I ate it was at Indonesia! And Thank you for compliation of the yogurt list!
Word of caution: Red Mango might change your taste buds from liking Ice Cream to yogurts.
Recently returned from work trip in N.Y. and tried 16 Handles/Pinkberry. Got hooked onto “Froyo” and had intense desires to satisfy my cravings. Never been a fan of Frolick/Yami and found Yoguru too creamy and filling. Heard from friends that Sogurt and Berrylite uses the same 100% fat free mix from the U.S. Tried both of them out and both were surprisingly good( Best I’ve tried in Singapore).
Sogurt’s self service concept appealed more to me though as it reminded me of 16 Handles in the U.S.
Frolick is like, really really BAADDD. It melts in a second and tastes like CRAP. Super low-quality yoghurt and workers with BAD attitude.
I like the cherry gracia yogurt ice cream from B & J.
And if getting one isn’t enough those guys are having a festival!called Chunk Fest! Plainsunset might be performing too!Check it out http://foursquare.com/venue/6984107
ash: you also tried ALL the yogurt places in Singapore? wow wow wow! sogurt tops the list! okie but wad do u mean when u say swirl art is bad in comparison?
koo: no problem! i’m glad the list is helpful! red mango has been in Indonesia for very long already? it’s pretty new in Singapore yeah?
kj: 16?!? wow, the crazy things people do for froyo! haha sogurt and berrylite got mentioned again! looks like they should be really quite good eh? did you try red mango? so currently sogurt is the best yogurt you had in Singapore?
lingo: but they have very good marketing strategy, and the shops are usually located in good area too! i haven tried it before though
foodgasm: hahaha this is a yogurt list, you are the only person who posted about ice cream! lol
But ladyironchef… cherry gracia is yogurt!! hahaha.. and a really good one I might add!
Thanks to this post, I went to try mostly all the yogurt listed and recommended here for the past 1 month. All i can say the best taste is still Yoguru and the worst is Frolick.
Both Sogurt and Swirl Art introduced a new concept which is DIY but I still prefer people dispensing yogurt for me! I love the bean bags corner in Swirl Art though! Feels really nice and cosy talking to my crazy friends there.
Thanks again for the article! xoxo
Hi Brad!
I am a froyo & mango addict. I have always thought mango & yogurt makes a marvellous combination but supermarket brands taste synthetic and disappointing. I had a cup of the mango flavor yogurt topped with crunchy granola from Yami last week and it tasted better than I imagined. It’s like a cross between a mango sherbet & soft serve icecream but without the jaw aching-sweetness. Yami’s flavors change weekly except for original & peach, how I wish mango’s a permanent flavor too!
I have a take-home tub of frolick sitting in my fridge at any point in time. It’s the absolute best yoghurt I ever had – not too heavy, just the right amount of sour.
Have you gotten around to trying it yet?
There’s this new Japanese themed yogurt place in Suntec at the food area around Carrefour. You need to try their Yogurt because they have the BEST toppings ever, I love their honeydew mochi toppings! Always have it after Church
I love froyo. ever since I got addicted to Yogurtland in LA. Tried looking for a replacement in Singapore, but in vain. I must say the best quality I’ve tried so far is yoguru and red mango.
Brad, u shd do a more detailed post on yogurts!! I’d love to help
Oh, check out Swirl Art too! it’s at river valley road and it’s really nice & personalized in the sense that you can choose what goes with your froyo. Deco’s nice too. the colour theme is like Once Upon A Milkshake, purple & white. just to let you know.(:
I’m so sorry I wasted your time! just went through the comments and realized ppl alr mentioned swirl art. so you can just delete my comments!
Hi, I love yogurt stop @ Alexander though they are not famous as yami etc. They have nice yogurt not to sweet doesnt melt fast and genrous with their toppings, worth the price.Try and support unfamous outlets too as u will be suprised that they are better or equal
There’s oso a yogurt shop @ 417 river valley road called swirl art! Check it out!
Hi
Do you know if there’s any Yogen Fruz outlets in Singapore?
Or has Yogen Fruz been franchised in singapore before?
Is there baskin robbins in Singapore?
There is a new DIY yogurt outlet @ far east plaza. It is called “SourMilk” !! Go check it out.
I think you can try Jco’s for a start! I love J Co’s froyo precisely because it doesn’t have that strong yoghurt thickness! It tastes slightly like yakult!
In my opinion, OiO is the best ^^ <33~
frolick is amazingly refreshing, light and has the yoghurt tartness which is leaves a nice aftertaste.Pleasant surprise when I got off at HOlland V. The sweltering weather is such a determining factor.
Yoghurt plus for me! Tried a few over the last couple of months and theirs is way above the others, and the have Ipads. Out at T2.
Yup yoghurt plus is nice! Love the cookies & cream! <3
I really really like Yami Yogurt! It’s so delightfully tart and creamy like ice cream I get my fix at the Lot 1 outlet that’s conveniently located just outside the MRT gantry at Chua Chu Kang MRT station. I take mine with granola
I’ve tried Frolick, the one at Millenia Walk and all I can say is that it didn’t work for me! It was too icy, turned to slush (and I was eating it in an air-conditioned office!), had this weird milky sweet albeit rancid taste or simply put, the taste was off. And the fruit toppings that I had were not fresh AT ALL. it was tasteless like biting into small bags of water. (for lack of a better comparison)
Maybe it’s just me but I like my yogurt tart and not milky sweet
Ohkaay, anyways, anyone tried “Yogurt Place”?
It’s creamy and yummy!
the outlets can be found on this link;
http://www.theyogurtplace.com/location.htm
I try Tutti Frutti at Clementi Mall yesterday, the price is calculate by total weight. Taste wise is very good. Does not melt easily. Got 12 different fruits & 12 different Topping, all self service. just put your Yogurt + topping on the weighing machine, then the cashier will calculate for u. Currently they having a 20% discount promotion until 30 Apr 2011.
http://tfyogurt.net/
I try peach+green apple favour yogurt with 3 fruits – peach, kiwi & sea coconut combination, it’s good.
SOUR SALLY!!
at Wisma Atria, one and the only branch so far
It’s a famous froyo from Indonesia.
You should try it!
How about “THE YOGURT PLACE”?
It’s so sad how under-rated Yoghurt Plus is. Since this is an old post, you probably have gotten round to trying some of the more recommended ones, but I personally think that YP is the best cos their flavours aren’t cloyingly sweet, and they have pretty neat toppings (cookie crisp!!). Hope you give YP a shot if you haven’t already!
I tried the Tutti Frutti frozen yogurt @ Clementi yesterday. I heard its a famous brand from USA. Their original flavor is the best I’ve ever tried in Singapore. The peach & strawberry banana is very good too. Definitely worth the money I paid for. Oh, forgot to say they’ve plenty of toppings too.
I am an avid Fro-Yo eater. I absolutely LOVE frozen yoghurt and would have it over ice-cream. Here, I will comment on a few chain stores. Yami, Sogurt, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf and JCo.
If you’re not a yoghurt love (ie, you don’t really like the taste of yoghurt) go for Sogurt or Yami.
Yami yogurt sticks with fruit flavours.
My favourite flavour here is Boysenberry. It’s sweet and tart. A really good balance too. However, this flavour is rarely in stock. My favourite ‘common’ flavour would be peach. Nice and sweet. I don’t usually go for any toppings though.
Sogurt is kinda odd if you’re all about the yogurt. They have interesting flavours like chocolate, mint and cookies and cream. I’d recommend this to non-yoghurt lovers. However, beware the pricing. The self-dispense+charge by weight is kind of scary. I went with a friend and we spent 15++ on one cup. ):
Flavour to try: Mint.
Not-so-great: Chocolate
Coffee Bean:
To be honest, they don’t do it well at all. But then again, they ARE a coffee place.
The fruit flavours are simply their drink syrups mixed in with fro-yo. Besides, I found the consistency a little thick. Not good for scooping. ): Worth a try, but I would rather spend the money on a coffee here.
JCo.
Surprisingly good yoghurt. I’d recommend this for people who actually LIKE the flavour of yoghurt. It’s a little sweeter than most, and toppings come complimentary.
However, it only comes in original flavour.
This is my favourite though. Smooth and of great texture.
Down side: It melts really fast.
Tried most yogurts here as they are my favorite healthy snack to have.. But i will say of all, the best of the best was the one when we had at Anchorpoint while shopping – YOGURT STOP! Their Original was Heaven…including their peach yogurt which my friends tried.. taste so natural and indulging! Love it!
Venezia Frozen Yoghurt. They have a branch in the basement of Tiong Bahru plaze. Try it with the mango topping, its very very very nice I think they have it only in original. That’s all I’ve ever tasted and like it so much I never bothered to ask if they had flavoured ones.
The yoghurt is a bit different, its somewhat softer than Yami’s. Give it a try. Did I mention that with the mango topping is nice?
Coffee bean yogurt! It’s surprisingly amazing. Try the plain tart flavour. It’s the best! The vanilla flavour is..no.
Sourmilk close alr. Now become sweet chills!
RYou all shld try out Polly perry’s frozen organic yogurt ftom Italy, located at Bedok Poiny. Ambience is amazing and so are all the workers. Tastiest yourt ever
Haha looking at all the comments we all have really different favourites…
Recommended: Sogurt. (Their cookies&cream/strawberry are the best. Price tag is a tad expensive…) Yami Yogurt. (Taste never gets too old.) Yigloo. (Creamy and a bit like ice-cream. Free toppings too!) Berrylite. (If you want a unique flavour… more like milk.)
Not: SwirtArt. (Might as well go to Yigloo. SwirlArt’s yogurt tastes the same but more expensive.) Frolick. (Too airy.)
If you’re going to have yogurt for health benefits, don’t try Sogurt.
Its made up of full-cream UHT milk and loads of Phoon Huat syrup (youknow those neon colored syrup in containers)?? I used to go there with my gf every weekend until I saw the ingredients & it just wasn’t as appealing, considering the (often surprising) total price as well. I mean, $10 for a cuppa froyo??
I’d recommend Yami Yogurt (good nuts and reasonable pricings ^^) or Frolick (nicer girls) if you’re around town and wanna grab some decent froyo!
Yoguru is okay but not as available!
I try not to eat Yami because their yogurt is made from yogurt powder, which doesn’t have bacteria cultures which gives yogurt its “healthy” reputation. I know Yoguru uses live cultures- it’s actually not bad, a bit strong (think greek yogurt but sweet) and the portion is huge. It’s very creamy though. And the toppings are the kind I like- nice fresh/dried fruit like blueberries/dried organic mulberries (yknow the kind you can get from Carrefour). Taste wise I like Sogurt! I don’t like their toppings though so I usually go without. Not a chocolate rice/cookie/marshmallow person. Not sure about the live cultures thing though, never checked! Frolick is good when you’re thirsty, but it’s really a ripoff. It’s damn ex for a tiny cup and no free toppings. It’s icy la, not usually my cup of tea (froyo, haha) but not too bad for a change. They add more sugar though, but it’s not apparent because it’s so icy. It’s like sorbet.
haha sweet chills at Far East plaza is also closed alr. It’s now Goldilocks (like Goldilocks and the three bears?!) and goes by the cup rather than weight now..very nice decor and think the yogurt is also different from before–taste creamy and tangy at the same time. They have 3-4 flavours at any one time and a wide variety of yummy toppings too. Love the tangy sourness of their Original with the choc sprinkles and granola–but its frequently sold out. The Peach mango is a close alternative, love its mixed flavor and right tinge of sweetness..mmm perfect cooler for hot weekends! I was a Yami yogurt Peach fan but now..;p
I love -18C yogurt because they offer alternatives from the usual yogurt in the cup with toppings. Their yogurt is creamy and fresh. The best part is that you can taste their yogurt in the form of cakes, cupcakes and freshly made Japanese Taiyaki. Not the usual yogurt in a cup!
I had the Taiyaki Fish filled with natural yogurt and it was the best! Warm crispy Taiyaki Fish pastry filled with creamy natural yogurt. One is definitely not enough! I also tried their sliced cake and cupcakes which were absolutely yummy. A great alternative to ice-cream cake and it’s definitely a healthier option! They have outlets at I12 Katong and Star Vista. If you do go, you MUST try to Taiyaki Fish. It’s really one of a kind and I can’t help raving about it! My friends and their kids love it too.
Hi,
I’m doing a college project on the frozen yogurt market in Singapore.
I am wondering if anyone could tell me if their is frozen yogurt products sold in the likes of supermarkets and convenience stores in Singapore??
And if so, what would their average price be??
Llao Llao is a must-try! Especially the sanum – really worth it! Located at Marina Link # B1-04
(Marina Square Basement link to Esplanade MRT)
Red mango & sour sally! they’re both divine.
You should try – 18 degrees celcius at I12 Katong. I would say it’s the best tasting froyo I have ever tasted. Good taste and not too sweet.
Never try the yogurt at YOGI YOGI! I used to work there and they’re waffle batters, yogurt and yogurt cakes in the freezer are ALL spoilt but my boss never wanted us to change or throw them away.
