Squeezed! At Waterway Point – Mac & Cheese and Froyo in Brioche Buns

Squeezed Brioches

Squeezed! started off as a kiosk serving cold pressed juices at both Leisure Park Kallang and Suntec City. Their spanking new outlet at Waterway Point in Punggol kickstarted the launch of the signature stuffed brioche buns that range from sweet to savoury creations.

Besides the 6 signature buns flashed on the overhead menu, you can also grab a ‘Naked’ (S$4.30) and original Squeezed! bun filled with froyo only.

This unique concept has been making waves on social media lately and we just had to have a go.

Double Scoops – Charcoal Waffle, Salted Egg Yolk & Matcha KitKat Gelato + 50% OFF Desserts

Double Scoops Header

Living in the heartlands of Singapore does not mean artisanal gelato is inaccessible. Barely a year old, Double Scoops is an artisanal gelato cafe situated right in the heartlands of Ang Mo Kio, offering premium low-fat gelato at very reasonable prices, alongside a plethora of desserts.

Gelato is always a good idea, especially with Singapore’s humidity. Gelato is loved for being a healthier option as opposed to ice cream because of the lower fat content and use of better ingredients.

This humble gelato parlour has won us over with their no-frills concept that focuses on serving quality desserts. From now till 31 March 2016, readers of ladyironchef can flash this post or quote “ladyironchef” to enjoy 50% OFF the 2nd Waffle/ Shibuya Toast (of same value or lower) purchased from Mondays to Fridays.

[Closed] BurgerUP – Homegrown DIY Burger Joint at Waterway Point

Burger Up Burger

BurgerUP is a homegrown fast food burger joint that has recently opened its second outlet in Singapore at Waterway Point in Punggol. The concept is simple – to bring gourmet-style burgers in a quick and fuss-free style.

However, what sets it apart from your typical fast food chain is the quality of ingredients used to elevate every burger. You can D.I.Y your own burger, and everything is done and ordered from a touch-screen menu located at the front of the shop. Worry not about queues as there are at least 5 of these menus available.

We saw a big range of burgers and even rice dishes (yes, we are not kidding!) here, with sides such as fries, nuggets and wings. BurgerUP sure is a great new place to check out.

The Plain Jane – New Quaint Cafe in Serangoon With Beautiful Swiss Rolls

The Plain Jane Interior

Located just across the Serangoon Stadium, it is pretty easy to miss The Plain Jane – a quaint little cafe which just opened recently; it is unassuming, but definitely worth looking out for. The interior is filled with vintage items and collectibles, and how we love those hanging lightbulbs.

Jane, the lady boss (hence, the name of this cafe) shared about her daily fresh bakes with much enthusiasm. Do not expect rainbows cakes and bright bakes here, because Jane likes to keep everything simple. Well, The Plain Jane, right?

Chicken Clinic – Singapore’s First Hospital-Themed Korean Fried Chicken Restaurant

chicken-clinic

As its name suggests, Chicken Clinic at Upper Thomson is a hospital-themed eatery specialising in Korean Fried Chicken. It is the only Korean restaurant in Singapore utilising surgical equipments in its fried chicken presentation.

Sure, they might be a tad too gimmicky, but our cameras love them.

Korean fried chickens are all the rage right now, but Chicken Clinic has cleverly stood out from other competitors with its unique display of injection syringes, metal trays and medical tweezers. While they may not serve up the best Korean fried chicken, it is still something you might want to check out when you are next at Thomson.
