Canopy

Canopy Garden & Dining Bar is a new-found brunch haunt that offers a good menu of comfort food with friendly price tags, and is coveted for its location – nestled amongst the lush greenery of Bishan Park, and away from the bustling city. I have a thing for calm and unassuming spots as such, where you could just break away from everyone and everything, and idle your day away with your favourite magazine.

If you are staying in the area – well, even if you are not, there is absolutely no reason to not pay Canopy a visit. I could preach non-stop about going there for brunch, but let me just highlight its value-for-money offerings.

Aramsa Spa: Best Spa in Singapore

Aramsa Spa

I had read about Aramsa Garden Spa at Bishan Park before. Some of my friends are regulars there, and they called it the best Spa in Singapore.

A few weeks ago, I was at The Green Room Cafe (also under the Aramsa Spa group) for a media tasting, and they gave us a spa voucher to enjoy a free treatment. This was the perfect excuse to finally make time to try the massage therapy at Aramsa Spa.

Like Holland Village, Serangoon Gardens is a popular dining cluster in Singapore. Beyond the many restaurants and cafes there, the estate has two popular Food Centre: Chomp Chomp Hawker Centre and Serangoon Gardens Market & Food Centre.

I brought my overseas friends there and I realised that eating in Hawker Centres can be quite a daunting experience for visitors. It is easy for us as we are familiar with the Hawker Food. But overseas visitors usually do not know what to eat, and which stalls to order from.

Burger from Fatboys Burger Bar Singapore

Fatboys Burger Singapore

Fatboys The Burger Bar is a burger place in Singapore that serves comfort food, burgers, milkshakes and floats. I will get to that in a while, but now I want to tell you more about what I think of burgers, in general.

Before I started this Singapore Food Blog, I thought that burgers only came from fast food restaurants. Can you believe that I spent the first two decades of my life having only them? That’s not all, I was also convinced that they were the definition of good burgers.

Tian Tian Lai (Come Daily) Hokkien Mee

Hokkien Mee

When I was planning for a one-day hawker food trail with my friend, she said that we have to try the famous Toa Payoh Hokkien Mee at Lorong 1 food center (near Braddell Mrt station). To be frank, I wasn’t very convinced initially. But it has been quite some time since I last had a good plate of hokkien mee, and I guessed there wasn’t any harm in trying. Our first stop of the hawker food trail – Tian Tian Lai (Come Daily) Hokkiee Mee.

Bakerzin: Cakes & Desserts Fiesta

It’s all about you. It’s all about you baby. Yesterday you asked me something I thought you knew. So I told you with a smile, ‘It’s all about you‘. Say ‘if you made my life worthwhile it’s all about you’. It’s all about the company, it’s all about the cakes, it’s all about the laughter, it’s all about the fun, it’s all about the sugar-rush, from the desserts.
