Guide to Genting

Updated: The 3D2N Genting giveaway has closed. The winner is comment #172, congrats Penny! I will be sending you an email in a bit.

I had the chance to visit Resorts World Genting – the most popular tourist destination in Malaysia – and it was an eye opening experience as I learned many new things about Genting that I never knew before.

I thoroughly enjoyed the trip because I went with Beatrice and Selene, who are great travelling companions. But most importantly, I felt like I was visiting my second home – Genting would always hold a special place in my heart because my family goes there every year for a getaway.

I remember the first time I was in Genting, and how everything felt so magical; the first time that I fell down because I was too excited at the outdoor theme park; the first time I took the cable car up to the mountain resort; the first ice cream that I ate in the cool weather – all the first time experiences that I had in Genting.

For many people, Genting is about the exciting rides at the magical outdoor theme park; the cold and nice weather; and the gaming and entertainment in the casino. It was the same for me, until I spent a weekend there with the girls. We discovered that Genting has a lot more to offer. So here’s my Guide on Things to do in Genting Highlands.

We are also giving away a 3D2N stay at Maxims Genting, details are at the end of the post. Good luck you guys!

Before you read the rest of my post, here’s a video trailer that Beatrice did for our adventure in Genting.

SMRT Circle Line Food Outing

SMRT Food Outing

With the new SMRT Circle Line, it is so much easier to go to places like Telok Blangah, Pasir Panjang and Labrador Park; it has made lots of eating places more accessible. I can go on and on about all the food places, but I think it’s a better idea to read my guide to restaurants near SMRT Circle Line.

As part of the campaign by SMRT to let more people know about the eating places near to the new Circle Line, I hosted two food outings at one-north and Botanic Gardens MRT Stations where twenty readers joined me and dined for free.

Guide to Restaurants near SMRT Circle Line

AdvertorialCircle Line map

The Circle Line (CCL) is Singapore’s fourth Mass Rapid Transit line, operated by SMRT. With the opening of the final 11 stations last month, running from Caldecott to HarbourFront, it marks the completion of the entire Circle Line.

The new additions are really great as they link us to places like the up-and-coming one-north, and the ever popular Holland Village. Food lovers may now rejoice for travelling to Holland Village is made so much more convenient and travelling time is easily halved with the dedicated station!

Since the Circle Line has opened up more opportunities for us to explore the various parts of Singapore that we wouldn’t have otherwise gone before, I thought it would be interesting to do up a post featuring some of the restaurants at the vicinity of each station! Yay to new reasons for us to venture out for more food!

Here’s my Guide to the restaurants near Circle Line Stations.

E&O Search for AFC’s Next Celebrity Chef

AFC Celebrity ChefPhoto credit: Asian Food Channel

I have a unique relationship with food. Before I started my food blog, I wasn’t really interested in food. You could say that I belonged in the “eat-to-live” camp. But in the past four years, I’ve gained and experienced so much because of my love for food. Sometimes, it makes me wonder if I could ever be a chef one day. You know, a blogger-turned-chef sounds pretty cool!

That said, I know I could never be a chef. I don’t mind cooking occasionally, but I doubt I can ever spend the rest of my life in the kitchen. That explains why I always have high regard and respect for chefs who are so passionate about food, who always put in so much effort into whipping up a meal for us.

Let’s just face it: I’m more talented at eating than cooking. And if you are like me, then the AFC original production: E&O Search for AFC’s Next Celebrity Chef is for you!

For the first time in Asia, the Asian Food Channel and Eastern & Oriental Berhad are conducting a region-wide search to crown Asia’s very own home-grown talent through their first-ever reality series – E&O Search for AFC’s Next Celebrity Chef.

The Song of India Dining Deal from DEAL.com.sg

Advertorial
The Song of India

The Song of India by award winning Chef Milind Sovand is one of the best Indian fine dining restaurants in Singapore. So imagine my surprise when I found out that DEAL.com.sg has a deal that offers 35% off a scrumptious weekend buffet brunch at The Song of India for only $29 NETT (usual price $44.75).

While I love going to nice restaurants, it is impossible to spend so much on food all the time. That’s why I think DEAL.com.sg is doing a great job providing consumers with dining deals at a huge discount.

Even though I haven’t tried many Indian buffets in Singapore, I’m going to go out on a limb here and say that you must try the buffet brunch at The Song of India.
