Toast Box! Spending months overseas and arriving back at Changi in the wee hours to enjoy a traditional breakfast set consisting of two perfect soft boiled eggs, two slices of crisp and enticing toasts spreaded with kaya and butter and last but not least, the aroma of the traditional kopi. Home sweet home.
Cedele. The food is consistently good! I simply love the Chicken Rosemary Sandwich and mixed mushroom risotto. It’s so tasty yet Healthy.
Toastbox is my choice because I relish the simplicity and comfort of savouring the familiar taste of soft-boiled eggs, drizzled with dark soya sauce and lightly peppered, together with the toasty goodness of the thick white slices; and Toastbox is one of the few that I can rely on to deliver consistently good and slurpy soft-boiled eggs!
Certainly it would be Itacho Sushi! I simply love Japanese food and crave for it. And of course after knowing that Salmon Skin Sushi costs at only S$0.40, I can’t wait to try it! I always wanted to try good sushi yet at pocket friendly prices.
I love the traditional breakfast sets at Toast box and the thick toasts with the runny eggs along with them. Gongcha is definitely another shop I will visit as nothing cheers me up more than bubble tea! ?
I’ll definitely go to toastbox! the smell of coffee & tea done singapore style to welcome us home is simply awesome. the softboiled eggs & toast done perfectly to energize us from the flight. great place to hang out with friends sharing about the funny things that happened on the trip!
DIAN XIAO ER!! For a heart warming family gathering departing or arriving Changi, this would be my favourite place! Their herbal roast duck is to die for!! Eat it with a bowl of rice and I feel instantly at home!
Saboten (T1 Public Area)
We stayed in the east area and will take train to changi airport for family dinner as it is really convenient and we are comfortable with the atmosphere. Although Saboten are always packed during weekend, but we really would not mind the wait. The pork katsu is a must have dish for our every visit, and there are alot of other varieties of food to choose from. We will always ordered few different dishes so that we able to share the food and joy with our family!
Astons Specialities would be my favourite because of its pocket friendly prices for a substantial serving of chicken or steak! The sides are simple but delicious (garden veggies which are the broccoli and carrots but taste so good on its own). Astons provides a filling meal in a casual setting and some of the tables even offer a view into the transit area, which definitely is an envious sight as I devour up my main course. The staff at Astons are courteous, provide efficient service and is a flexible choice for a family meal or a gathering with friends. (:
My favourite dining option in changi airport is paris baguette! Paris bagutte started in south korea. It eventually became a really famous and started expanding their business. Having to hear of this cafe, my boyfriend and i wanted to try it so badly so we bought tickets to seoul back in 2012. Our first stop was to paris baguette. We bought a few cakes along with tea and we finally understood the reason why it became so famous. Ever since then, paris baguette has been our most visited cafe in koreaever sin e.When we came back to singaporere, we counld not find anything similar to it and we intended to make plans to go korea again soon just to vist the cafe that made us feel as if it was “love at first sight” . The cafe holds alot of memories for us and we even took a picture as a rememberance. Little did we expect that in 2013, paris bugette was doing so well that it expanded into the singapore market. I remembered that its first outlet was at wisma atria. My boyfriend and i were so excited that we went doen in it firat day of its opening.we ordered the same things like back in korea but it was abit disappointing that it didn’t have the exact same taste like wad we had in korea. I would really recommend u to go to korea and tey
Try*
I love Dian Xiao Er! It’s a place that my family would go after we fetch our relatives from the arrival hall or before my relatives depart! My relatives always raved about how good the food is!! Their herbal roasted duck is super fragrant and yummy, the duck skin is crispy and the meat is succulent! The herbal gravy goes really well with plain rice as well. That restaurant always bring fond memories as it’s a cosy place where everyone and sit and chat over food together.
Me and my family’s favourite choice would unanimously be Swensens! We often head to the Swensens Branch at Changi Airport for birthday celebrations or even a casual family dinner and catch up session from our daily hectic lives. Our family love going to Swensens in Changi Airport because of its soothing ambience of the restaurant, which we think its one of the most essential factor in choosing a restaurant for dinner. Apart from the soothing interior ambience, our family love going to the airport because of its wide walking space that gives a relaxed and carefree feeling compared to crowded shopping malls, especially on weekends. This is the reason why my family always head to Changi Airport to fix our meals.
I really hope that i would be awarded the vouchers as my birthday is nearing, my family and I could have a nice, scrumptious meal together with the wide array of restaurant choices in Changi Airport.
Ramen Champion for me! What will feel better than having slurping on a hot bowl of ramen after arrival Singapore! How heart-warming! Moreover, they have different kind of ramen depends on your preference! I’ve seen the way they prepare the ramen. They really put in effort in every bowl of ramen and the soup base is super awesome!
Hello ladyironchef! (:
My pick would be Cedele @ T2 Transit Area! Their carrot walnut cake is sooooo yummy and good!!! (: It’s perfect for a not-so-filling meal especially when one doesn’t have much time to spare before boarding. I would definitely recommend Cedele for a short coffee/tea-break before checking-in for travellers at Changi Airport! (:
My favourite dining option is always Cedele!
Cedele’s range of bread and cakes are always my soft spot. My family is a huge fan of Cedele’s carrot walnut cake, a really big fan! Whenever I pass by a Cedele shop, be it in the shopping malls or at the airport, I will definitely have a bite there.
The soups and sandwiches are quite good too! I love it that there is a Cedele at the airport, making it so convenient for us to enjoy quality food(: I have always believed and lived by Cedele is best-known for: Eat well. Be well. Good food is always worth the eat(: Kudos to my favourite dining option, Cedele!
Saboten is my pick. Why? The food speaks for itself. Good food needs no further elaboration on its qualities.
Ramen Champion for sure. After spending 3-4 hours freezing inside a plane, what a better way to warm up myself other than one bowl of tonkotsu broth.
After that, we make sure to grab some bubble tea in gong cha and some pastries in paris baquette. Btw jasmine milk tea and croissant is my best friend on transit.
I always like the feeling whenever I stepped into the airport. The surrounding, the smell, the people are the reasons why I love going to airport.
One of my favourite dining places in Changi Airport will be Dian Xiao Er. My family and I will always patronize this restaurant for our family dinner! We love the varieties of dishes they offered especially their specialty duck!
Hi Ladyironchef.
My favourite dining option at Changi Airport would definitely be Swensons. Indeed, Swensons has many outlets in Singapore, however, the outlet at Changi Airport holds great memories to my family and I to this day.
When I was younger, my family and I do not have the luxury to travel by plane. Therefore, during special occasions like birthdays, my parents will bring us to the outlet at Changi Airport to dine and also to explore Changi Airport then after. Now that we have grown up, we still patronize the outlet in Changi Airport once in awhile as it holds great significance to us.
I hope to win this Giveaway so that I can give my parents a treat and at the same time, relive the moments we used to have.
Thank you.
O’coffee club. Nice place to have a “me” time with the awesome mudpie and watch as people stream in to the terminal with various expressions. Children with teddy bears, couples all smiles and enthusiastic for their vacation, businessman brisk walking to catch their flight.
I love RuYi in terminal one. They have super good mapo tofu. Plus it’s affordable despite its location is in Changi. Definitely one of the food that I always go back for when I am travelling or sending my friend off. especially when I am overseas for long periods, the Chinese food in RuYi makes me feel so welcome and home!
Hey LadyIronChef! thanks for giving us readers a chance to win this giveaway!
Firstly, my pick is Itacho Sushi at the T3 Public Area!
Either coming back or getting a quick meal before leaving Singapore, I dont usually carry my credit cards. I will only have an ATM card and some spare Singapore currency cash on hand. As i am a ultimate sushi lover and also as said in your post, the friendly pricing as well as the ambience of the place makes me feel relax before leaving Singapore.
Hence, i hope to win this giveaway so that I can give my parents a treat!
Saboten!!! because I have always wanted to try tonkatsu but i dont know a good place that serves it until I read this post…the tonkatsu in the picture looks sooooo gooooood. its making my mouth water…I cant wait to try it! I hope I win so i can bring my parents there for a meal!
Whenever I go to Changi airport, i make sure to visit Saboten for my tonkatsu fix! It’s just the perfect meal before a flight… Tender, flavorful, and value for money!:)
Swensens is my choice due to Singapore’s hot weather! I’m sure something icy, sweet and colorful such as the ice-cream would definitely cheer ???? up a persons’ day especially for family with kids! Kids cannot resist ice-cream. And I remembered those days my family would bring me there to celebrate my birthday and we would order the birthday ice-cream with flavors of your choice. To me, it is more than wonderful to just an ordinary piece of cake.
My favourite dining option at Changi Airport will definitely have to be Itacho Sushi. Itacho Sushi has always appealed to me because I am able to eat many different types of sushi and other bites at reasonable prices. I love sitting behind the counter and watching the chef put together orders, blowtorching the aburi salmon or putting the finishing touches on the fresh scallop. I go to Changi Airport with my family fairly often because of the wide array of restaurants to choose from and its convenient location in the East which is very near my house.
As I have many overseas trips lined up for me in the coming months, I hope I’ll be able to win these dining vouchers so that I can get my Itacho fix and then head to Swensen’s for an ice cream sundae. Swensen’s will always be my favourite place for dessert, because my dad used to bring my entire family here for ice cream and fries since we were young. It holds a special place in my heart.
Firstly, I would like to thank ladyironchef and Changi Airport for organizing this giveaway and reward Singaporeans with vouchers to enjoy a dining experience at one of the world’s best airport. Indeed, there are plentiful of dining options available and many of them boasts of well raved reviews and are highly lauded for excellent food, service as well as ambience.
Without a doubt, CENTRAL THAI (LOCATED AT T2) never fails to be my No 1 preferred dining option whenever I am in Changi Airport. There are many reasons why this is my absolute choice. 1. There is only one outlet of Central Thai on the whole island and that’s at T2. Unlike most other restaurants in Changi Airport which we could easily find other franchise or other outlets in Singapore, one could only enjoy the delicious amd authentic thai food prepared by native Thai chefs at Central thai. It’s the exclusiveness of this restaurant that makes it stand out because it’s one and only in our island.
2. Central Thai is halal certified and whenever I am at the airport to send my Muslim or Malay friends off, it is argubly the best dining option that cater to their needs and everyone can enjoy the food. By default, it has been the venue for our class gatherings whenever we send someone off overseas to study because we have Muslims in our mix and we can bond through food at Central Thai.
3. I am a sucker for Thai food and there are not many thai food options in the airport and it is good to see a restaurant that serves great food at really affordable prices. Their standards are ever consistent and never fail to create an explosion of flavours in my mouth whenever I enjoy a meal there. The quality brings me back and back.
Central Thai rocksss!!!
Thanks for organizing this giveaway
I have not had the pleasure of eating at any of these amazing restaurants, my first trip to Singapore was last year and I was suffering with an ear infection. I know don’t tell us your sad story. However I am returning this month, due to the fact that I have been blessed with my first grandchild who resides in Singapore and would love to try any of these establishments.
Thank you,
The food court at terminal 2 is where I usually eat during transits. Chicken rice and a barley drink. Nice.
My favourite dining place at Changi Airport is Saboten.
The food served at Saboten is delicious! I love the free flow serving of cabbage that goes very well with the sesame dressing. The oysters served during their oyster festival are big and juicy. Tasted really fresh and good! :p
My pick would be Dian Xiao Er! It is my family’s favourite restaurant in the East, because it is not only convenient- but the people there never fail to make us feel at home. The food is amazing, and always consistent. We always leave Dian Xiao Er with smiles on our faces.
Itacho sushi! I love having sushi and I’m happy to have an affordable yet tasty sushi option at the airport!
Souperlicious!
They have great concept in selling soup! Have variety of soup, and my favourite things is they serve the soup with bread bowl! All their flavours worth to try. The price also very reasonable. If you go here, don’t forget to try the yoghurt as well after having your hot soup.
TOAST BOX Whenever mummy and I come back to Singapore she will definitely visit toast box. The curry chicken is always our top pick together with barley makes a wonderful meal. Not to forget their toast with coffee is equally appetizing.
Central Thai for me! My friend and I stumbled upon this restaurant and was wowed over by their crab bee hoon. The dish was simply yummilicious, so full of flavour and truly a dish not to be missed. Each time we touched down in Changi Airport, we would think about heading to Central Thai for our fav crab bee hoon. Apart from this dish, their other dishes are just as good and truly authentic!
This restaurant deserve my two thumbs up!
Swensen’s remains my favourite dining outlet at Changi Airport perhaps due to nonstalgia over childhood memories when my parents would take my siblings out to Swensen’s at Changi Airport for a treat to keep us happy until we had to say goodbye to either Mum or Dad who was going overseas on a working trip. We would usually be too imbibed with all the food and decadent sundaes that any tantrums would be kept to the minimum.
Absolutely love love a sumptuous Chinese meal at Dian Xiao Er with its roast duck and pork belly, which never fails to satisfy! Then we would top it off with a cool dessert in Swensens. Yummo! Best combo that keeps me coming back for more!
Love Xin Wang at T3 Public Area, the restaurant is open till 2am daily. Remember the times when a group of us studied till past midnight and we can always find reasonable and wonderful food at Xin Wang!!
My pick is always Toastbox! After a few weeks/months overseas, one thing I missed so much is the Nanyang Coffee/Tea… especially after the bad coffee/wine or soft drinks served on board. With warm toast and softboiled eggs, I often chat non-stop with friends and eat non-stop, often get another drink and sometimes order 2 sets… I am totally home at Toastbox @ Changi!
Gurney Drive! Tried it once at Changi Airport and it was so good! Hope to be able to go back and try it again!
I would choose Crystal Jade at T2, because whenever I return I crave for their la mian or fried rice! I don’t usually eat at Changi Airport (sadly), but this guide certainly makes things easier from now on if I were to go grab a bite. Great post!
Awesome Guide! Can’t wait to see and taste what Changi has to offer! This march 28 will be our first family trip overseas together with my Mama and Papa! I am just so excited that we will experience Changi and Singapore together. I have not tasted any of the food choices in Changi, but I am so looking forward to have my first Kaya Toast in Killiney Kopitiam ot Toast Box. Thank You Ladyironchef for this guide!
Gurney drive will be it!!
I have always heard friends who have been to Penang saying that their Char Kway Teow is one to die for! I do not know any place in Singapore that sells it! After seeing your post on it, I would love love to give it a try! It’s always interesting to know and taste other cuisine food!
My favourite restaurant is swenson’s. It holds many memories for me as I spent a lot of time at the airport studying as a teenager. At that time, being a student, I would always look upon swenson’s longingly. Now that I’m an adult, there are many more newer dining options at the airport. However, none brings back as much nostalgia and fond memories as good old swenson’s.
i love saboten, especially i need a really filling meal ie rice and meat before boarding a flight especially when airplane food sucks.
Swensen’s! My favourite dining outlet as I can have deliciou-value food with wonderful ice-creams and sundaes with my family and friends! Always leave the place with a full stomach and big smiles on everyone’s faces! = ))
Dian Xiao Er is always my best choice of my pick, they give you a warm family reunion meal feeling for anyone before your departure or arrival from others country. Changi Airport is the historical for the decade and with the modern restaurateur available in the terminal make the environment more warms.
I love Paradise Inn Changi Airport at t1. My boyfriend and I share a long distance relationship so this is the place we go to have our ‘temporary’ farewell dinner and “welcome back” dinner with his family. It consists many of our hugs, kisses and chitchats. Not to forget, the Prawn in PUmpkin sauce dish there is awesome. The sauce is rich and flavourful. Moreover, the Kong Ba bun there is also tasteful and delicious.
Without a doubt : Peach Garden Noodle House (T1 Transit Area). The name says it all. Travelling from London you want a place that is everything that London (or Heathrow) is not: fresh food, beautifully presented, tempting smells and the thought of tropical fruits – in short, everything that as a frequent visitor to Singapore – your lovely and tasty country – brings to my mind. And the extra benefit that while you’re dining you coujd be anywhere magical, but a busy airport!
