One of the best things that I love about the end of the year is Christmas. It is such a joyous festive season and it is about gathering with family, loved ones and friends to come together for the holiday.
It is not an easy task to choose a place for Christmas dinner, however. First, the place must have a good selection of dishes so that everyone will have something to choose from. Second, most places tend to charge a premium for their Christmas dinner menu, and it is difficult to find a place that serves good food, yet remains affordable.
If you face the same problem, then nydc should be your top pick for Christmas this year. Besides offering an attractive and affordable Christmas menu, nydc also has an impressive array of savoury food and dessert options on its ala carte menu. It is quite simply the perfect place to celebrate the homely affair with your closed ones, and to document the last of 2013 with happy memories.

NYDC was the first restaurant I went to with my best friend when we got our first job and pay checks. It was something we felt was befitting for a First Paycheck Ever!! celebratory meal because their food was not only well-plated but also well done. We still go back whenever we have something to celebrate because the portions are gigantic enough to fill both our stomachs with food and our hearts with joy.
I come from a very poor family and every Christmas I have to work extra long shifts at part time jobs just to support my family. Last year, back in December, I had the chance to work part time waitering at NYDC and I was completely enchanted to meet their vast selection of cakes and entrees. I thought I was never ever ever going to have a chance to try them out since it was very pricey, at almost 22 for a meal. I would be ecstatic should I be chosen to have the chance to dine there and I would certainly bring my mom there to somewhere we can be alone to dine.

Because I have never been to a Christmas Party before! This will be my first and what more, with my favorite food blogger:)
A Christmas Party at nydc with my +1, fellow foodie lovers and ladyironchef sounds too cool to be missed! A joyous night of feasting complete with 11 festive dishes, cute Elephanccino and a slice of pretty Tutti Frutti Mudpie are definitely highlights of nydc’s Christmas menu that I just can’t wait to try and share with my loved ones. A good mix of savoury and sweet treats at a restaurant are what I look for when I hold my Christmas gatherings with groups of friends and family members. I am sure nydc lives up to be THE perfect place for an affordable yet tasteful meal. When good food and great company come together so effortlessly, my 2013 Christmas is perfect.
It’s simply an amazing place to celebrate x’mas at. Would be a great oppurtunity to bring someone along and enjoy the food and the night.
I would love to try nydc’s Christmas menu as this year, Christmas has doubled up its meaning for me, and what’s better to feast with something new this year, than nydc?
I would love to try the new Christmas menu, as well as take this chance to find a good place for the upcoming annual Christmas dinner I’ll be organising for my besties and I :’)
Of course, it’s also a chance to try something that is recommended by ladyironchef, which is pretty rare because all the delish looking food that you post always looks expensive (this sounds affordable for a student working part time like me!)
My final exams will be in early December! Been having the same old routine of eat study eat study sleep everyday since the start of this month. Being a fan of NYDC desserts, even self-study time is WORTH TO BE SACRIFICED for a good meal and visit to NYDC! A scrumptious meal from NYDC will definitely give me a greaaaaat morale booster and help me pass my exams with flying colours(just like your cake image:D)
I would like to join the NYDC Christmas party as a guest because of my interest in in cooking techniques. I’m no gourmet chef but I love food and ways to prepare new dishes. I cook for 70 children Monday thru Friday every day I would sure enjoy someone cooking for me for a change. Thank you in advance

since im a cafe lover, ive always wanted to try eating at nydc. and though it will be my first xmas away from family, a xmas dinner at nydc sounds fantastic and will definitely make it less lonely! plus the face of my twin when i tell her i won a nydc dinner for us will be priceless
A christmas party at NYDC is definitely a not to be missed event! I mean NYDC’s food are definitely as mouthwatering as it seems and while waiting for your food to be served, thinking of how delicious it would be, doesn’t it makes you excited?
I’d love to go and dine there but, i would like to take this chance to let my parents dine at NYDC for their hard work all these years and i got to say, because they usually do not like to spend such a good amount of money on food, and instead they save up the money they have, a sumptuous treat would be good! So i really do hope that i’d get chosen
Having dinner w people w sophisticated and appreciative palates would be a perfect holiday gift. I travels to toyko recently and followed your IGs for ideas. I hope New York will be a lot of fun and it is a great time to experience the city. As a fellow traveler and lover of great food and conversation Beong in the company of someone with such great insight would be ideal
christmas is all about love, giving and feeling good! and perfect christmas combination would be spending time over good food and sweets with your family!! definitely feel good!!! enough said. =)
Wouk love to be in the company of someone w such a sophisticated palate.
Nydc holds special memories for my boyfriend and I as it was the place where we went on our first date. We really loved the food there, especially the desserts which satisfied our major sweet tooth:) Moreover, he would be booking out from reservist on the 22 Nov. This would be such a good treat after a long and tiring week for both of us!
Christmas is my fave festive period of the year and am excited to try out the festive meals at nydc. Also would love to meet u in person after reading your blog and seeing your amazing food pictures on IG
Hi Ladyironchef, first of all, thank you for having this giveaway.
I really hope to win this opportunity to bring my partner to an early Christmas celebration. 22 Nov happens to be our monthsary. Being the guy, my bf has always volunteered to treat me to dinners on every 22 of the month. However, as we are graduating students, I have managed to find a job already but he has not. He had been feeling really stressed up and I really want to be the one treating him this month to cheer him up and motivate him. I hope I can give him a little surprise this time as we hardly get to enjoy full course meals (as students). He really loves beef!
I’m going to be really honest here. I used to really love NYDC- when they had the previous menu. Then my friend worked in SUTL as an intern told me that NYDC is gonna implement some changes on and off to improve the restaurant’s offerings. I brought my bf there to try out the new menu hoping that the “prawn who got creamed” will still be around (I really love it and wanted him to try). However there isn’t. I was disappointed but we still tried out the new tastes I told my bf that they are always improving in other aspects like the desserts and we will always come back to see improvements. I really hope to be one of the first to try out this festive menu and new desserts with him.
For those many reason above, I hope that I get the chance to join in the early xmas celebration this time round. Thank you!
It’s as simple as it is, really. What better way to spend a joyous occasion than with great food fare and great company?
I never actually got the chance to dine-in at NYDC, but I know that I ‘lust’ after the desserts in the display every time I walk past an outlet. The menu? Stunning. and I am pretty sure the christmas menu will be even more amazing.
In any case, I can’t think of a better way to prep oneself for the upcoming examinations (uni) than to feast first and be happy.
Food, my happy place. Thus, I hope I really get to celebrate an early Christmas (and 21st birthday) with ladyironchef, NYDC’s desserts and Elephanccinos.
I want to celebrate Christmas early with nydc because I’ve always love dining at them for their pasta, meatballs and not to mention their mudpie! I always leave space for desserts, one of my favourite dining time. I hope to try all the 11 special dishes with you and your partner, Brad! Desserts anywhere, anytime of the day! ;D
OMG what a coincidence! NYDC is the place when I met my boyfriend for the first time! It was on NYDC holland vill. And it still our favorit restaurant until now for dinner. Celebrating christmas in nydc with lafyironchef and of course ill bring him along if I win. What could I ask more?
Hi Brad, I’ve been following your blog and Instagram for quite some time and they are really good as I’m a super food & travel fan. I’d love to join you on this early Christmas party at NYDC with my partner! I started having meals/dessert at NYDC since my JC days (5-6 years ago) and I really like their desserts! Especially Boo Boo cake! I’ve never had 11 (omg so much) course dinner at NYDC and I’d like to have a chance to feed on the feast!
What better way to celebrate Christmas on a Friday night with the party just around my workplace?! If I win this, I’ll surely ask one of my favourite colleagues to join me for a jar of Elephanccino and meet Gingy at NYDC!
My boyfriend and I are huge fans of ladyironchef. We always looked up on this website for nice dining restaurants everytime we go on a date – make things so much easier!
When I saw the tutti fruitti mudpie photo on your Instagram, I am ecstatic and flashed the photo to my boyfriend! (My fav flavour on a mudpie!)
When we read that ladyironchef is inviting his readers to a christmas party at nydc, my boyfriend and I are thrilled!
Firstly because we want to meet Brad and thank him for all the recommendations and reviews on food and travel tips. We are sweet tooth desserts lovers just like ladyironchef, and its so relatable reading his dessert/buffet entries!
Secondly, we are madly in love with the desserts at NYDC! Usually, we go to the outlet at holland village to satisfy our sweet sweet tooth together with their scrumptious mains.
Finally, having the opportunity to celebrate christmas with NDYC and LadyIronChef will definitely be a happy memorable experience for the both of us.
WHAT’S NOT TO BE EXCITED ABOUT?
IT’S CHRISTMAS AND IT’S A PARTY!
Hi Brad! I would love to start off by saying I love your website! I discovered you through instagram and ever since, I’ve been addicted to your travels and food blogging. To win this trip would mean so much to me. I’ve always wanted to do something amazing for my mom, given that she’s been a great provider for my brother and I. Lately, she’s been picking up extra shifts at her workplace trying to earn some extra money for the holiday spending, and I would like to return the favor. Neither I, nor my mom have ever tried NYDC desserts, but If I could win this, I would love to surprise her with this amazing opportunity. Fingers crossed!!
My girlfriend and I are great fans of yours! After reading your blod, we developed the passion to go and discover the various cafes in all parts of Singapore to fix our cravings now instead of just going to the conventional places to eat. And we always follow the recommendations that you make!
My exams are just around the corner in early December but i still want to go down as I want to surprise my girlfriend with this! She be going bonkers if she ever gets to meet you in real person!
Last but not least, we do love the food at nydc as they are pretty unconventional and creative and we are huge desserts lovers! And the ambience is great for hosting a christmas party!
Scrolled through instagram and saw this!!
Well, first of all, I have never ate at nydc, so it would definitely be a new and great experience dining there! I would love to indulge in the glorious and mouth-watering feast that will be presented that day.
My family rarely celebrates christmas, apart from occasional dinners that aren’t too fancy, so I would really love to be able to enjoy such a wonderful spread on a lovely christmas this year. ^^
Cheers!!
Haven’t tried feasting for Christmas since 18 years of my life. Have only been partying and going overseas. Christmas has never been good in Singapore because everyone is busying with their own lives. Really hope to try out NYDC with one of my loved ones! Always hear from people that it’s good and so but didn’t really had the chance to do so.
I would love to dine at NYDC because I’ve heard of many food reviews of this place but I have yet to try it out! I would really like to use this opportunity to try out their desserts, and of course nothing’s else is better when you get to enjoy a Christmas dinner with your favourite food blogger!
I had one experience with nydc at holland village earlier this year and whoa! I didn’t expect it to feel so atas yet comfortable as it was during lunch time and, compared to other restaurants along the same stretch, it was relatively quiet. I ordered a savoury snack-based course and shared it with my bff; it was perfect in terms of portion and taste! The dessert I ordered was a chocolatey mudpie; I couldn’t decide among all the pretty cakes in the display glass, luckily it was a nice choice:)
I really hope to try out the 11-course Christmas set as I believe it would be an explode-in-my-seat experience once again! Also would like to thank Brad for all the sharing and nice pictures:)
NYDC serves the best cakes. Especially their wallstreet carrot cake. Each year on my birthday, he would surprise me with a birthday celebration at NYDC because he knows that I love their cake. Despite once, wallstreet carrot cake was sold out, we travelled from tampines to bugis just to get the wallstreet carrot cake home for home celebration. We have the best memory at NYDC.
@JEFF “I come from a very poor family….very pricey, at almost 22 for a meal….SENT FROM AN IPHONE 5S”
Please, appealing to sympathy will not work this way…sure, you can’t afford 22 bucks, but can afford an iPhone 5S. This totally makes sense.
Because every post on Ladyironchef’s Instagram never fails to bring a smile to my face and tempt my rumbling tummy, i cant be delighted enough to be able to feast with the awesome food blogger and of course with the guy who brought me so much joy and happiness into my life. NYDC has been a good old junior college memory for myself, where Jedi Mudster would constantly lure me towards NYDC. I could never say no to a double chocolate chip and my absolutely favourite macademia nut ice cream on an oreo cookie base, drizzled with gooey chocolate fudge. It would be an early Christmas wish come true to be able to dine at NYDC with my favourite person and favourite food blogger.
Cheers to all of Ladyironchef’s foodies!
it would be lovely to celebrate christmas with you and with nydc and it would be amazing to try out this restaurant! it would be great to meet a great food blogger like you and enjoy it with amazing food.
Hi!!! Well, why do I want to celebrate Christmas with nydc’s desserts and Elephanccinos? I personally feel that being able to eat good food and enjoy the good company of friends really captures the spirit of Christmas. After all, Christmas is about sharing. I would really love to have the opportunity to enjoy this special moment with my loved one.
“Blessed is the season which engages the whole world in a conspiracy of love.”
It’s the time of the year again – a festive occasion of giving and joy! Christmas is the BEST season of the year that gives that warm and fuzzy feeling when you can just enjoy a scrumptious meal with your loved ones. I absolutely adore the feeling of having a wonderful meal in a place decked with Christmas decorations, where Christmas songs will be playing in the background and just enjoying the company of someone who means a lot to you.
) who’s always in search of awesome and affordable places to pig out! I’m sure nydc is the perfect place to soak up the Christmas mood, complete with a Christmas menu that tantalizes the taste buds of practically everyone! I’ve been to nydc (Holland V) only once, and I have to say, the goldmine cheesecake I had was absolutely a-m-a-z-i-n-g. I can’t even imagine how their Christmas menu would taste like, especially the Tutti Frutti Mudpie! Afterall, nydc is best known for its sweet dishes!
What matters is the company, and an added plus point would of course be … the food!
Christmas can’t be complete without a great dining experience with the people you appreciate the most. Especially if one is a foodie ( like yourself
I would absolutely love an opportunity to join you and also bring a friend along for a Christmas dinner at nydc. I would love to take this chance to thank my friend for everything she has done for me, through all the years of our friendship. And of course, the opportunity to meet you would be fantastic. I’ve been following your website and Instagram for places to dine and your recommendations are simply wonderful. Brought my friends to the places that you’ve suggested and they’ve all turned out as lovely dining experiences (though there was once a cafe we wanted to go to was closed
, but we’re going to go back soon!)
I’m sure a dinner at nydc would be a truly memorable experience for this year’s Christmas celebration
I want to start my festive season just right!! With NYDC
I’m not compromising with my desert. NYDC’s got my back
Hello Ladyironchef (Brad),
I would really like to be part of this Christmas party at NYDC and have a great Christmas celebration with you and my love one. To me, Christmas is always a magical season full of joy, love and laughter. So what’s a better to celebrate it with delicious food and look back on 2013 with people you love? This party will add another layer of meaning to Christmas 2013. Look forward to trying the menu by NYDC and lastly, cheers to the last bit of 2013 and Merry X’mas in advance!
Hi Ladyironchef,
I sincerely hope to get selected as i wish to spend this joyful day with my boyf and as well as people around. No doubt that Nydc’s really served one of the best dessert. With the great ambience, im sure my boyf will definitely enjoy himself as he had never tried it before. What’s more, Christmas is always filled with laughters, enjoyments and GOOD FOOD! Its always the more, the merrier! Cheers! ^^
Pick me plezzzzzz!!!!
I really want to dine at NYDC because New York is like my favourite city in the world and NYDC is like THE place to revel in some New York city dreaming. Omg and the NYDC mudpies are amazing i have dreams about them. Honestly I have taken part in many food contests but have yet to win any
((( let this be my first!
NYDC is a special place for me and my best friend
it was the place we dined at when i came back to singapore after going for an exchange programme to study in china
NYDC holds fond memories for me and him, and christmas is my absolute favourite time of the year, so it would mean so much to me if we could celebrate christmas together with NYDC this year! <3 really really hope i can win it for us! ^^
Hello, seasons greetings!!
Christmas is really such a magical time of year to me, when family and friends just gather around the table to feast and be thankful for what we have and to celebrate the year gone past.
This year, I truly truly want to win this food competition for my friend and I! We’ve always had this competitive streak between us when it comes to food, where all we’re bantering about is whose Meepok is better (you can get my opinion on this– I promise you it will revolutionize your Meepok-eating habits)or when our next food outing is. To the both of us, food is an integral part of our lives and we literally plan our lives around meals. Especially because of this, I thought it would be perfect if you would pick me to join you at NYDC this Christmas! For starters, we could lay our competitiveness to rest this festive season and just take a day out to enjoy and appreciate a great meal while savouring the best that NYDC has to offer
The both of us are also monsters when it comes to eating so this 11-course meal IS RIGHT UP OUR ALLEY and we will definitely last the distance!!
To end this off, the both of us will also be going our separate ways in 2014 and won’t be seeing each other for at least half a year when we’ll be off on exchange… Help us to make our dreams come true Ladyironchef!! The dinner will definitely round off a great year and help us to create beautiful memories this Christmas
I want to go to ladyironchef’s Christmas party because it’s a season of joy and I want to share this joy with my partner that I will be bringing to the party. Food is our common passion and I always go to ladyironchef’s website to get inspiration on where to dine for meals and it was how it brought me and my GF together.
Christmas is a special occasion where friends and families are able to gather and enjoy food and mingle around with each other. Being able to win this opportunity of dining in NYDC will be a blast as it allows my partner and I to have a day of relaxation after a stressful year. While dining together, we will be able to make new friends, and enjoy the christmas feel together over a sumptuous meal together! Furthermore, being able to taste the variety of NYDC’s Christmas dishes is a dream come through! Walking past NYDC in bugis and catching a glimpse of the beautiful desserts never ceases to make me salivate, sadly due to various reasons, there just wasn’t an opportunity to try them. Just looking at the Tutti Frutti Mudpie that NYDC has for this year’s Christmas already makes my stomach rumble! Being able to win this opportunity would be an awesome opportunity as my partner and I will be able to have a nice day out while enjoying the company of many others!
Thank you NYDC and Ladyironchef (Brad) for hosting this event:)
STRESSED spelled backwards is DESSERTS!!
22nd November marks the official start of school holiday for both hubby and I, as we are both teachers. We would love to kick start this holiday and festive season on a STRESS FREE note, and be loaded with delicious DESSERTS and awesome FOOD by NYDC! This Christmas party @ NYDC is definitely going to be a FANTA-BULOUS and SPECIAL one, filled with fantastic food, fabulous people like you, and of course my special someone.
I follow your Instagram and your photos make my mouth water multiple times a day! You’ve turned me on to so many different types of food that I may have never tried otherwise. I truly love the holidays, they’re such a festive and beautiful time especially in the city. I would love nothing more than to join you for a holiday dinner!
Because Christmas is the time for family and friends..a time to reflect, to appreciate , and to be thankful for what we have going on for us!
I would like to bring my sister to this wondrous meal..to tell her I love her. She works really hard in hospitality..and she LOVES desserts!,
Because christmas is never complete without good food and I would like to have a chance to feast on the yummy treats that NYDC has to offer (besides just drooling at ladyironchef’s instagram pictures). Most importantly, christmas is about sharing and being able to share this experience with someone special would be a perfect and blessed christmas for me.
I love the Christmas season, because it is a time for the harvest of the fruits of our labour after one whole year of hard work, where we spend time together with ourselves, our family and friends to reflect, appreciate and rejoice over this joyous occasion.
The best way to celebrate is to FEAST! & I know that spending Christmas on NYDC, esp with their delectable choices of desserts, would be most ideal.
Well to be very honest, it’s a Christmas party on the house. No reasons not to join in the fun!! Haha. And I believe this would be a great opportunity for me to discover what nydc has to offer as i have never tried any of nydc’s food nor desserts before. It would also be a wonderful “excuse” for me to date the best boy friend out and have a Christmas celebration in advance here since I will be heading overseas the next month:/
I hope that with the sweet offerings of nydc, it can also mark a sweet beginning for this festive season(:
Lastly thank you Brad for throwing this party and Merry Christmas in advance to you and your readers!
I have only dined at NYDC once, but it was enough to make a lasting impression; I remember my friend’s cake that was stacked with so many layers, and the carrot cake I had that was such a perfect blend of spices. My best friend is coming back from the UK at the end of this month, and I really wish to be able to surprise her with a meal at NYDC with all the amazing desserts!! This, coupled with all the foodies – I’m sure it will be a night to remember (:
