One of the best things that I love about the end of the year is Christmas. It is such a joyous festive season and it is about gathering with family, loved ones and friends to come together for the holiday.
It is not an easy task to choose a place for Christmas dinner, however. First, the place must have a good selection of dishes so that everyone will have something to choose from. Second, most places tend to charge a premium for their Christmas dinner menu, and it is difficult to find a place that serves good food, yet remains affordable.
If you face the same problem, then nydc should be your top pick for Christmas this year. Besides offering an attractive and affordable Christmas menu, nydc also has an impressive array of savoury food and dessert options on its ala carte menu. It is quite simply the perfect place to celebrate the homely affair with your closed ones, and to document the last of 2013 with happy memories.

Look at the Tutti Frutti mudpie and Elephanchinno! A picture speaks a thousands words! I am always constantly awed by the photos of the glorious food you post or write about. This post for nydc is no exception. Nydc is known for their delicious desserts and mudpies but I never got the chance to try them before… Christmas is the season of giving. I hope to be able to share the joy of having a splendid meal with my loved one. What is happier in life than to see the satisfied look coming from the opposite side of the dining table?
I hope to be able to dine at NYDC with a partner and everyone else because the food at NYDC never fails to surprise and delight me. As a loyal follower of your blog, I have always been tempted by the wonderful images of food that you post. This once, I hope to be able to join you and experience the good food and good company in real life.
Hello! My name is Cheryl and i personally find your blog so fascinating! Almost any Google search about food in Singapore will be linked to your blog post. I’m pretty sure your blog has one of the highest hits when it comes to the food!
Believe it or not, i will Google food places from your blogpost whenever i need ideas for dinner or any food recommendations from a particular restaurant. And i’ll be like “ladyironchef recommends this so i must try it!” to my friends. Haha as juvenile as it may sounds, i truly believe in your food critics.
So this is no exception that NYDC gonna be a hit this Christmas as you endorsed for it! The number of times that I have been to NYDC can be counted using my fingers but it does not deter me from joining your Christmas party. I believe in your taste. *winks* As mentioned in your blogpost that I am allowed to bring my partner if i get the honour to be invited and I will choose to bring my boyfriend along. We have been to a few dining places together and we only make it a point to visit restaurant once every month due to the fact that we are both students. I have not done much for him in the short relationship we share so i hope i can shout out my love through actions for him by bringing him to your Christmas party before he leaves for overseas education the start of next year.
Do you know that my group and I included in one of our strategy that we should invite Ladyironchef to be one of the critics in order to raise profits for our marketing project. Such huge impacts you have on us! And only after my research for my university project, I realised that the LADYironchef…is actually a male! And you are truly amazing because you managed to make my dream job, to be your career!
I look forward to seeing you in person.
Wow!! What a beautiful Tutti Frutti Mudpie for Christmas this year!! I just got to take a great big bite out of it together with my little girl.
My little girl and I have sweet tooth and we both love the desserts and cakes by NYDC. They may not be the most affordable and but they taste so GOOD!!
I hope I can be selected for this Christmas party at NYDC and surprise my little girl. She had done very well for her final year exam and I think she deserve a reward.
Merry Christmas to all. Cheers!!
NYDC is always one of my favorite restaurants for celebrating special occasions. I will order different desserts every time I visit NYDC. The desserts are all so heavenly delicious. Having to try out the NYDC Christmas menu with my love one will probably the best Christmas present I can ever get this year.
Hey Ladyironchef!
We passed outside of NYDC yesterday and it looked amazing. Here in Singapore, as Swedes, we have had a lot of trouble finding good desserts, and this looks like a place that even could satisfy two Swedish girls! Hope to see you on the christmas-dinner!
I really want to come to your christmas-dinner and bring my best friend Amanda! We are here in Singapore on exchange and your webpage is the place we go to when we need a good restaurant! It would be so cool to meet you!

Sure would loved to have this early X’mas celebration before I pop and be confine to 40 days with no outdoor activies.
I have never dined at NYDC before but this time i hope to be able to have the chance to and bring a loved one along with me to celebrate this amazing festive season. The pictures of the food alone is enough to make me drool and I really hope that I will be able to try the food for myself, and make this season an even more enjoyable one. Being one who loves to share good things with my friends and family, I would also definitely share my amazing experience with everyone so that more people get to try NYDC’s amazing food for themselves.
Christmas is the best festive of the year. It is a time of joy and sharing. I am a crazy foodie. Would go anywhere and everywhere just to hunt for good food. My boyfriend is having his exams now and it will end around in the mid of November. If I am given an opportunity, I would like to give him an early surprise xmas treat and reward him with an awesome meal for his hard work. And thank him for his unconditional love <3<3<
My department had a celebratory lunch when NYDC launched its new menu this summer! The new menu was refreshing and very satisfying, showing the amount of thought that went into the entire process. Being able to enjoy Christmas at NYDC, and with my loved one, and in front of esteemed food blogger, would surely be one hell of an experience. Good things come to those who wait!
I LOVE THE DESSERTS AT NYDC! Oh the scrumptious cakes taste so so so good. And the other courses are as delicious too!! I would love to try the Christmas dish, the pictures alone make me drool….. And celebrating Christmas with such delicious food would be awesome, especially this year after taking my GCE a’levels. I would be super thrilled to be able to celebrate Christmas AND end of a’levels eating at nydc!!
Whenever I pass by bugis junction, the first restaurant that will always be on my top list is nydc.
The atmosphere is so laid back and casual, yet nice. Yes, there’s one thing that keeps me going back will be the Jedi Mudster, a double chocolate chip and macademia nut ice cream on an oreo base, drizzled in gooey chocolate fudge.
Walking into nydc is like entering heaven of dessert. It makes me forget what my life was like before I taste their dessert. It’s the perfect place to go with my family because they carry a wide variety of choice.
If the eye eats before the mouth, a restaurant must make its food appear appetizing and nydc is very successful in doing it.
The food, service, location, price and ambience is rated 10 out of 10. I trust nydc with my meals. It will always be my favourite chill out places, catch up or dating choice.
So Santa, I’ve even really good this year and the only gift I hope to receive is to be selected by nydc to join them for the Christmas party.
Xoxo
Quenmantha
I love to eat, I always like to try new food/restaurant. I’ve never tried NYDC before, and reading your review makes me really craves and try their food. If I won this giveaway, it will be for our early anniversary dinner, plus, I’ll bake you my special macaroni schotel
A person who truly loves dessert, is the one who view dessert as “main course” while main courses are just “appetiser”.
A person who truly loves dessert, is the one who can feel a great sense of happiness since the first bite and carry on the happiness even after.
A person who truly loves dessert, is the one who will go for a cake no matter sunny or rainy, good or bad days, whatever occasion. Simply miss it, crave for it.
I think dessert does not need to be paired with wine. It is satisfying on its own. But, desserts should be shared between loved ones, or a group of people who are happy simply because of the sweetness.
This Christmas, I am not planning for a feast with turkey, log cakes and huge spread of dishes. NYDC, i believe you can lighten up my Christmas, and the coming year, I will feel as sweet as the day.
I want to celebrate my Christmas at NYDC for the amazing desserts treats they came up with! Elephanccino looks festively fitting for my food porn album collection!
This will be a sweet (pun intended!) surprise for my boyfriend as we are celebrating our third year anniversary this December
I’ve never tried NYDC before, and reading your review makes me really want to go and try their food with my loved one.
Hi!!! Juana here..
Christmas is a special time for me because it’s the time when my boyfriend and I first got together. It’s the time when we both started a fresh new chapter in our life. Being together, we share a love for food and would seek new food adventure. Therefore, if there is an opportunity, we would like to try the new christmas creation at nydc and add this venue to our foodie listing.
I believe NYDC will become our next favourite makan place with its wide variety and affordable menu.
Hi,
Really hope to win this pair on invites for my bf who is a absolute foodie. NYDC Christmas menu looks good and I am sure he will like it! With your company, it makes all things even more lovely.
Thanks ladyironchef in advance!
Charmaine
My entire family has sweet teeth, hence I am always on the look out where to celebrate occasions with the sweetest and delectable treats. I just celebrated my birthday at nydc with my university friends last month and we all parted with happy tummies. I got the know this dessert cafe through a fellow blogger and the first time we visited them was on the eve of Valentine’s day. Hubby and I had an unforgettable Valentine because of nydc’s special Valentine menu. We now look forward to dining at nydc everytime there’s a special occasion. Who wouldn’t love to celebrate Christmas with nydc’s desserts and Elephanccinos?
Hi Ladyironchef!
Your blog is the first place I consult whenever it comes to organizing class gathering dinners, family brunches, or even dates with my boyfriend. It’s always great to find your comprehensive lists of to-eats and reviews right down to where the most romantic restaurants are. Surely, I can’t miss out when you’re inviting your readers to a Christmas party!
I’d love to join you for the NYDC christmas party simply because NDYC is a restaurant close to my heart. I’ve celebrated my birthdays there as a teenager, always clamoring for the last bite of the mudpie, slurping up a mess with the ‘Meatball that ate Manhattan’, treated my mum to an NYDC lunch with my first paycheck and even had countless dates with my boyfriend at the Wheelock NYDC branch (after a day of shopping in town). NDYC is my go-to for comfort food, and unpretentiously sinful desserts. I’ve never gotten the chance to try out more than 3-4 dishes each time so I’d love to be invited to the christmas party where I’d get to savour 11 festive dishes. Ohmy the thought makes me drool. Please invite me! I’m already thinking how I can best instagram the adorable Elephanccino
I would really like to enjoy a good christmas meal with my best friend! Christmas is such a joyous and festive occasion and it is something that I look forward to every year. I hope that Christmas this year can be special for me and my best friend! We are both little pigs who enjoy good food:)))) Thank you ladyironchef!
)))
Love the fabulous choice of the popular signature desserts, beverages and entrées. I can have endless choices and be spoilt for choice. This is one of my favourite cosmopolitan restaurant to chill out with friends! I would love to attend this xmas gathering with ladyironchef and the readers of your blog too. Really want to try out their new xmas menu with desserts and Elephanccinos.
Hello Ladyironchef!!
Ever since I discovered your instagram and blog, I’ve been hooked! I really want to win this trip. Why? Well my mom had been the sole provider for my brother and I, and I would really like to return the favor to her. She’s been the best mom anyone could ask for and she really deserves this trip. My mom, nor I have ever been to NYDC desserts, or any elaborate places for that matter; and, winning this trip could be a great bonding experience for us. If I could surprise my mom with this wonderful trip, I’m absolutely positive it will make a memorable experience for us both. Fingers crossed!!
Hi,
This is such a nice blog and It is really helpful for me, But i am looking for the Chocolate Cake
related post,So please suggest and share if you have.

Hello
I would really want to be selected to be part of this Christmas party as I’ve never dined at NYDC before and this will be a good chance for me to try it! Also, Christmas season means a lot to me as it is wheb I got to know my boyfriend better and we really like good food and party~! Trying my luck to get this chance to dine with a celebrity blogger too!
It will be a great way for me to end 2013
It’s really early for Christmas and right smack in the middle of A levels too, but that’s not going to stop me from looking forward to Christmas, a time for giving, loving and FOOD! What’s a better way to start this festive season than on a sweet note with NYDC! (plus the calming effects it’ll have after the endless exams). Can’t wait!:)
What attracted me the most is the Gingy’s Butter Rum Bath Elephanccino. It looks so cute, special and adorable. It is the perfect gift to surprise my boyfriend who enjoy Christmas the most and has a love for coffee and gingerbread man. Hope I will be the lucky one, able to bring my other half to celebrate early Christmas with the extraordinary Elepanccino as well as a spread of other treats at NYDC aka New York Dessert Cafe-where travel to New York is no longer a necessity.
It’s our wedding anniversary soon, and NYDC was where we had our first date (and mudpie)! Think it would be a sweet gesture to surprise him with a re-enactment of our date with the same clothes we wore then LOL
BECAUSE CAKES. NYDC HAS GREAT CAKES (or so I heard, I’ve never eaten there before). SO PLEASE OMG CAKES
“nydc- celebrate life everyday”.
life is so colourful with love and joy. good food is what all of us here have fallen in love with.
Why nydc for 2013′s Xmas party?
a simple reason – to celebrate life everyday!
well, quite simply, it’s desserts are simply divine. a perfect place for Christmas!
Hi ladyironchef !
I really hope i can join your party at nydc.
Christmas in my opinion should have a warm and sweet atmosphere and i feel that nydc can provide those atmosphere. The dishes and the decorations at nydc are more than perfect for Christmas. Not to mention the desserts are like the best to achieve those sweet atmosphere that i’d like to get on Christmas.
I really really really wish i can join your party and have fun on christmas to the fullest.
Hello Brad!
The pictures posted on your blog and Instagram never fail to make me hungry! Me and my friends are always tempted to try all the food that you’ve blogged about!!
This year had been a bad year for me, but when ever I see those lovely dessert posted by you it just temporarily take all my worries away. (P.S. I’m a sweet tooth). I just hope me and my friend could be lucky enough to have a chance to join you at NYDC for an early Christmas celebration. =D
NYDC will be a great venue this coming festive season to share with someone special to me. I greatly believe that NYDC Christmas Menu will offer memorable experience in terms of their food offerings & this will give me the chance to feature it on my humble blog as well @ dadafab.blogspot.com
Hope I’ll get the chance to celebrate Christmas with NYDC. The ambience of nydc makes it is a favourite spot of mine for having desserts with friends and family. Besides, the new colourful tutti frutti mud pie has captured my heart & I can’t wait to try it! Oh and the elephanccino looks so lovely as well !! Thanks to ladyironchef, I get to be informed of this chance. Really hope I can enjoy Christmas together with my loved one at nydc, thank you!
The idea of having a Christmas party at nydc sounds amazing! I have been really busy recently with work and studies and didn’t get to spend enough time with my family. My father and I have never celebrated Christmas so I hope this year it’ll be a chance for us to spend time together! The mud pie and other sumptuous food items sound so appealing to me. Whenever I enter nydc, I will definitely order one of their signature drinks and a delicious lava cake with rich chocolatey texture.
Hope I’ll get to spend Christmas in one my favourite restaurant, thank you so much! ????
As Scott Adam says “I love you like a fat kid loves his cake!” Thank you for the treat Santa! One cannot think well, love well and sleep well if one has not dine well.
I love baking and enjoy challenging myself to come up with delectable and creative desserts. I thought what nydc has to offer this Christmas- Tutti Frutti Mudpie is a unique twist on the usual mudpies and looks really pretty! I wonder if the taste will be as good as it looks and hope to take this opportunity to try this dessert.
Having worked at a cafe before and also am one who enjoys cafe hopping, I personally find that the taste and making of a coffee is unique to each cafe. Nydc’s take on coffee- Gingy’s Butter Rum Bath Elephancinno sure sounds interesting and I can’t wait to give it a try!
As I have not been to nydc, I believe that this would also be a good chance for me to explore the cafe and celebrate an early Christmas with fellow dessert lovers here
Nydc leaves me with very fond memories with my family the last time when we went to the Holland v outlet. We stayed there from dinner till past midnight. It was my 80 year old mum first visit to the place. She enjoyed the elephantcinno as well as the mudpie so much n I can still remember the smile n satisfaction on her face. Reading your reviews have become a habit whenever I need to bring my friends or family out for a meal. So far the experience have been good with your recommendations. I have marked down nydc as my venue for Christmas celebration this year and looking forward to another wonderful time with my family…..
Just like most people here, I love all kinds of food especially desserts! But what makes me really want to celebrate Christmas at NYDC is because I want to spend this special season of giving by bringing my mother to try out the sumptuous spread at NYDC. My mother never really indulged in good food, and I hope that I will have the chance to let her taste what real good food really is.
I am also a fan of food photography and I love to take photos of pretty food and post it onto my Instagram. I am sure that NYDC’s food dishes will definitely be astonishingly beautiful for me to add to my portfolio of food pictures!
i am a frequent reader of your blog and i often use it as a guide to where i should hang out with my girlfriends. (seriously, hands down, one of the best food blogs). And they always wonder where i find all these cafes/restaurants to dine at
NYDC has brought me back many pleasant memories as i used to dine there with my family when i was younger, it was also the place where my family and i would celebrate out birthdays. Christmas is the time to spread joy, so if i were to win this, i would like to make this a special Christmas for my best friend, she doesn’t celebrate Christmas, but she has always wanted to dine at NYDC! (it has been her cravings for MONTHS!)
My best friend doesn’t know that i’m trying to win this for her, but can you imagine her REACTION if i told her that we are going to dine with ladyironchef at NYDC for (early) CHRISTMAS?!
Christmas is about SPREADING THE JOY! I hope i get to surprise my best friend with this early Christmas gift
Able to celebrate Christmas with my loved ones in NYDC which has a good festive atmosphere and good food especially the dessert. Definitely will be the best Christmas gift for both of us.
Who says we have to travel to New York for the best cheescake & mudpies? We can simply enjoy it at the comfort of our own home! Would also like to try other unique Christmas dishes after reading your earlier blogpost on NYDC cafe..I’m almost drooling now!
What better way to celebrate my own birthday (21st Nov. Talk about great timing yea) and christmas at the same time with fun loving people, the always trustworthy ladyironchef and most importantly yummy food. For all you know, I might even be inspired of what to make for my sister, whose birthday is coincidentally, CHRISTMAS.
I am going overseas in mid Dec so I am unable to celebrate Christmas with my family. I really hope I can bring my wife to your Christmas party at NYDC before I leave for my trip.
Hi Ladyironchef,
Firstly thanks for collaborating with NYDC to host this giveaway! I posted on NYDC Facebook page thinking we were supposed to comment there.. :S Gah so here goes..
I hope I can win a chance in this giveaway, because I have always wanted to dine at NYDC, but haven’t got the chance to.. And they are also known for their sinful yet decadent desserts. Christmas, a wonderful time of the year to spend with loved ones and reminisce the memories and moments. This can be a time to welcome the new year.
Also, recently things between me and my father haven’t been well due to a miscommunication. Hopefully, if I could win this giveaway, I could invite him out and make it as a platform to “reunite”.
As frequently said, food brings people together.
While I very much appreciate good food and love Christmas so much, my mother doesn’t believe in fancy food and festive celebrations. So bringing her here to NYDC to taste their amazing food and enjoy the visually beautiful Christmas dish will hopefully change her mindset. Can’t wait to see how she’ll react if I managed to win this for her
Hi Ladyironchef
i will not be around for Christmas, new year, and chinese new year this year due to an overseas exchange program, and hence i would really love to surprise my mom before i leave Sg!
I would like to join you at NYDC for an early christmas celebration, as i would like to bring my mom along to celebrate Christmas in a special way this year
I’ve bought the “big “o” cheesecake” for her on her birthday this year and she really loves it, sometimes mentioning that she wants to head back to NYDC to try out some other cakes… Therefore, this will really be a great opportunity to fulfil her wish make her happy
Thank you for your time taken to read my comment, hope to see you in person real soon
I am a frequent reader of your blog (fellow food lover here!) I love reading your blog as you’ve a pretty clear and honest review, nice photograph of the food. It had also been a great help for my selection of restaurants for different occasions.
My family and I have also been to nydc a couple of times and we love the food there! I especially loved the Piggly Wiggly Burger and The Choco Bull’s Eye, both of which were recommended by you.
It would be great if I am one of the lucky reader to join you as I had wanted to plan it as a surprise for my mother. She has always been excited to dine in nydc and had heard a lot about ladyironchef from me.
Celebrate Christmas with nydc’s desserts and Elephanccinos sounds like a good idea to chill out with my loved ones !
