Known for their crispy waffles and ice cream & sorbets made fresh in-house, Holy Cow Creamery has been serving the residents in Yishun since late 2014.

They have opened a second outlet at 465 North Bridge Road near Lavender MRT Station. You can also find the famous Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle and old-school coffeeshop, Heap Seng Leong in the same area.

The new outlet at North Bridge Road will be offering the same ice cream flavours, waffles and bakes as their original outlet in Yishun.

Holy Cow Creamery makes all their ice cream and cones on-site, and they have a great selection of interesting flavours such as Muah Chee, Ondeh Ondeh and Melon Milk.

This humble ice cream parlour in Serangoon got us all excited with homemade cookies that ooze out molten goodness, alongside a huge range of ice cream flavours that range from light and refreshing fruit sorbets to rich and creamy options.

Molten cookies are actually pretty novel and unique and you can find this kickass treat at Kooks Creamery. The cookies are crumbly on the outside; soft and chewy on the inside.

Served with a scoop of ice cream of choice, the good old combination of warm pastry and cold ice cream is one that always lifts our spirits.

LICKERS

This hipster ice cream joint in Lorong Ah Soo is one of the few dessert places in the neighbourhood that are opened till late. NAKED ICE CREAM

Located along the same stretch as Yaowarat Thai Kway Chap, Punggol Nasi Lemak, Ding Te Le and Qi Wei Chicken Claypot, Naked Ice Cream is a new waffle and ice cream cafe in Kovan which opens until 2am daily. Kovan is home to many eateries and food places and Naked Ice Cream is the latest addition to the neighbourhood.

Like most ice cream cafes in Singapore, you can have your ice cream in a cup, cone or with a waffle. There are two waffles to choose from—Plain Waffle (S$3.80), or Charcoal Waffle (S$4.80). For drinks, you can choose from coffee, tea and house special fizzies.

OCD CAFE

A clever play on words, Obsessive Chocolat Disorder (OCD Cafe) is a paradise for chocolate lovers! This ice cream café specializes in chocolate and boasts five chocolate ice cream flavours of varying intensities from different origins. THE HUMBLE SCOOP

Tucked away in the basement of Katong Shopping Centre, The Humble Scoop prides themselves on locally inspired ice cream flavours. You can expect flavours such as Orh Haw (hawthorn berry), Orh-Bee-Good (pulut hitam), In-Kueh-Dible (salted coconut & gula melaka) and Sugar Cane with Lemon. Although flavours here are on a rotational basis, you can definitely be sure that they will be old school flavours reminiscent of your childhood. If you are around the Katong area, we definitely recommend coming here for a scoop of nostalgia.

This charming place adorned with beautiful sakura decorations serves gelato and Crispy Buttermilk Waffles apart from a selection of savoury dishes. Wishes Cafe offers several unique gelato flavours including Avocado, Thai Milk Tea, Mint Tea, Peary Ginger, and Kumquat Sorbet. You can never go wrong with a waffle and gelato pairing, and Wishes Cafe executed theirs perfectly.

Everton Creamery, a hidden café nestled in Tai Seng’s iconic BreadTalk IHQ Mall, has some really good desserts. They specialise in premium gelato flavours, alongside waffles and a small selection of coffee.

Located right smack in the middle of neighbouring offices, Everton Creamery is one of the go-to ice cream shops in Tai Seng. We were immediately attracted to its cute storefront, boasting pastel décor, ice cream posters and a dazzling array of gelato flavours.

Check out what we thought about the place!

We decided to go for their Waffle with Double Gelato scoops, topped with two dollops of premium flavours: Belgium Chocolate, and Durian (S$13.50). Albeit on the pricier side, the quality of their ice cream and waffles are worth every penny.

The waffle had a buttery aroma, and was crispy on the outside and airy in the middle. Ice cream wise, we chose the Belgium Chocolate and it boasted a creamy and rich texture. It had just the right amount of sweetness, with a luscious, chocolatey taste.

The Durian gelato was super fragrant and rich. It had a velvety texture, although we thought it resembled a thick durian paste instead of ice cream! It was not overly cloying either, but decadent in flavour.

You’re definitely in for a treat when you visit Everton Creamery! This is a great spot to chill with your friends or co-workers after a long day, so do drop by and give them a try.

Seeing how we are stuck with this unforgiving weather all year round, it’s no surprise that many of us are on the perpetual search for new places to get our ice cream fix in Singapore. This time, our search has led us to Mingle Mangle, an ice cream parlour nestled at the edge of Hougang that scoops up a selection of classic and unique ice cream flavours.

At Mingle Mangle, there are more than 10 waffle flavours for you to choose from. Think dark chocolate, peanut butter, black sesame or even super spicy chilli and chicken cutlet – we were obviously spoilt for choice! Unfortunately, we only had room for one waffle so we went for the Matcha Waffle (S$6.50).

Crispy and airy, we were impressed at how fragrant the waffle was. Not only did the inside of the waffle have the distinct matcha green colour, but the overall flavour also stayed true to what matcha is supposed to taste like as well: bitter and earthy.

We paired our waffle with a Double Scoop (S$6.60) of Honey Cornflakes and Mud Slide. The former was delightfully sweet with cornflakes that were a bit soggy while the latter was decadent and rich. We appreciated how the ice creams at Mingle Mangle were not cloying and did not melt that fast too.

We also sampled the Chilli Crab and Hainanese Chicken Rice flavour. While they were well-executed, we were not adventurous enough to have a whole scoop of it. Those who have exotic taste buds should definitely make a trip here to try these interesting flavours.
