Popular French bakery, The Lunar Rabbit Boulangerie is opening a new cafe in Tanjong Katong to serve the residents in the East of Singapore.

Known for its rich cultural heritage, diverse community, and a thriving food scene with popular food spots including Supernova, Little Rogue Coffee, Punggol Nasi Lemak, Tanjong Katong is a charming neighborhood on the eastern side of Singapore.

The Lunar Rabbit Boulangerie is the latest addition to the enclave and it is located at 350 Tanjong Katong Road, along the same stretch as Little Rogue Coffee. It will be soft opening to the public on 22 Jul 2023 at 11am.

Established at 16 Hamilton Road in May 2022, The Lunar Rabbit Boulangerie just celebrated her first anniversary not long ago.

Unlike their original location which is just a takeaway space, the new outlet in Tanjong Katong will be a full-fledged cafe with a capacity of 40 pax and it will be offering hot dishes, drinks, pastries and desserts.

Specialising in viennoiserie—the ‘bridge’ between pâtisserie and French bread—The Lunar Rabbit Boulangerie dishes out amazing bakes fresh from the oven every day.

The Lunar Rabbit Boulangerie’s Classic French Croissant is excellent. It is light and airy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Definitely one of the best croissants we’ve had in Singapore. We also love their Almond Croissant and Kouign-amann.

The Lunar, a crescent-shaped croissant, is The Lunar Rabbit Boulangerie’s iconic pastry and a must-try when you are here. Filled with Masarpone mousse and chocolate ganache made of Valrhona Manjari Dark 64% Cocoa, The Lunar tastes as good as it looks.

The little ones will definitely love the Bunny Madeline (S$5) which comes in the form of a cute bunny.

Salt bread is all the rage in Japan and South Korea right now and we are thrilled to see it here. Topped with truffle salt, the Lunar Rabbit Boulangerie’s rendition is as soft as it should be, and it comes with a generous helping of truffle paste and butter.

On to the hot dishes that you can find at The Lunar Rabbit Boulangerie. The Croissant with Turkey Ham and Scrambled Eggs (S$16.80) was disappointing as the scrambled eggs were overcooked, but we would definitely recommend the Croque Madame (S$13.80) which came with a cube pastry as the base for this dish.

The hot dishes include a regular hot drink.

An exclusive item to the new outlet, the Croissant Ice Cream is definitely one for the gram and perfect for the hot weather.

If you love cinnamon buns, you have to get your hands on these beauties.

They are one of the OG bakery cafes in Singapore and it’s not hard to figure out why they have been around for so many years.

Alice Boulangerie is one cafe-cum-bakery that really left a deep impression on us. In recent times when everyone is trying to outdo one another with trends and patterns, Alice Boulangerie chose to stay classy with honest bakes – ironically, this is what we are lacking in the current climate when everyone is so caught up with fanciful and Instagrammable-everything.

Conveniently located in the Tanjong Pagar, Alice Boulangerie is a space which we would consider to be relatively Nordic and minimalistic, with simple wooden and rattan furniture and classy pendant lamps. No frills about its decor, but most definitely cosy enough for some quiet me-time, a simple lunch meeting, a date and a wonderful spot to simply lay back and relax.

With an impressive culinary and baking team, you are set for great food and bakes. We tried quite a few items and nothing actually disappointed us; how impressive! It is most definitely a spot we would return to again and again – whether it is for their hearty mains or stellar bakes.

Sitting within Icon Village, Alice Boulangerie is a comfortable spot in Tanjong Pagar to grab a cup of coffee alongside your favourite pastry or to have a simple lunch.

They may be well known for its beautiful pastries and croissants, but not many people know that they have a savoury food menu to cater to the working crowd in the CBD and they dish out a selection of all-day breakfast, mains and pastas.

Tiger Prawn Capellini

Out of the main courses that we tried, The Tiger Prawn Capellini (S$28++) was definitely our top pick. Plump and juicy tiger prawns, angel hair pasta cooked in a flavoursome and robust prawn stock, cherry tomatoes – this was so satisfying and we found ourselves salivating at the very thought of it.

Fourth of July Cheese Burger

Another main course that we enjoyed was the Classic cheeseburger (S$26++). Alice Boulangerie uses USDA Homemade beef patty served with soft brioche buns—that are freshly baked in their own kitchen daily—streaky bacon, chipotle coleslaw, and fries. A simple and no-frills burger that hits the spot, we’d say.

The Steak Shack

Next up was the 200g Australian grass-fed striploin (S$35++), which was accompanied with Australian asparagus, sautéed mixed mushroom, creamy buttery mash potato, and roasted garlic bulb. You can choose between herb butter or red wine mushroom sauce for the steak. Toothsome in every bite, and definitely super filling.

Remember to save some room for desserts and pastries, because everything that comes out from Alice’s pastry team is AMAZING! You will probably need to visit Alice Boulangerie several times to try everything on the menu, but we are telling you it is very well worth the trips.

Grab a counter seat by the kitchen and watch the talented bakers & chefs prepare the croissants and pastries; it is so therapeutic to watch them in action.

From the classic plain Croissant, to Pain Au Chocolat, and their iconic bi-coloured croissants, it goes without saying that everyone comes to Alice Boulangerie for their famous croissants. You’d be sorry to leave without trying one!

Alice Boulangerie’s croissants come with the most gorgeous and on-point honeycomb structure. Absolutely stunning, flaky and buttery with every bite.

The chefs at Alice Boulangerie have years of experience and are passionate and obsessed with perfecting the recipes for their food and bakes. Fun fact: they supply to a lot of events and parties, too!

Pistachio Chocolate Croissant

The signature Pistachio Chocolate Croissant (S$7++) is filled pistachio crème patisserie house praline and hazelnut ganache. This is a croissant of our dreams; decadent with a well-balanced sweetness and absolutely gratifying – definitely a must-order when you are at Alice Boulangerie.

Strawberry Cheese Croissant

Filled with freshly made strawberry jam, smooth luscious cream cheese, and garnished with strawberry chocolate shavings, the Strawberry Cheese Croissant (S$7++) is a crowd favourite. It is both pretty and yummy, and we would gladly have one anytime.

Do note that the bi-coloured croissants are available in limited quantities from 11am until they are sold out. The early bird gets the pretty croissants because honestly, nobody wants worms.

Mushroom

If you love cream puffs, you’ll love the new Mushroom (S$9++). Alice Boulangerie has reinvented the classic cream puff and they present their rendition in the shape of a mushroom. What you get is a classic choux puff piped with gula Melaka Chantilly cream, coconut pastry cream as well as gula Melaka caramel. Such a decadent and thoughtful creation!

Acorn

In line with Alice Boulangerie’s branding and its squirrel mascot, the team has recently introduced the beautiful Acorn (S$13++)—a chocolate acorn shell made with 70% dark chocolate that is made up of layers of chocolate mousse, yuzu crémeux, almond dacquoise, and almond walnut praline with salted caramel mousse.

It took the chef months of research to perfect the recipe and baking techniques to produce this seemingly-simple dessert. What you get is a crisp outer layer of dark chocolate that holds the shape of the acorn really well, while keeping the interior soft yet firm so that it doesn’t crumble nor do the layers get mashed up.

Alice’s Christmas Log Cake

This is probably going to be the cutest log cake you’ll see for Christmas this year.

Launching in early November 2022, Alice’s Christmas Log Cake (S$85++) is a beautifully constructed moist chocolate flourless sponge layered with chocolate mud biscuit, an exotic fruit crémeux, caramelized banana, and hazelnut praline crunch, then topped with a 3D squirrel made from orange dark chocolate mousse. The kids will definitely love this!

Located at 23 Hamilton Road near Jalan Besar and Lavender, La Levain is a new bakery cafe by pastry chef, Wythe Ng who used to work at Keong Saik Bakery & Bakery Brera.

The Lavender neighbourhood is home to many wonderful cafes and some of the recent openings include Habitat Coffee, Pacto by Parchmen and Glacier.

Pasty chef Wythe Ng had co-founded Keong Saik Bakery with another partner before leaving in 2019. He last worked at Bakery Brera as the head chef and he had also worked at Japanese bakery chain Boulangerie Asanoya and Baker & Cook.

La Levain has officially opened to the public on 11 Dec 2021.

Helmed by Chef Mohamed Al-Matin who has previously worked at Noma, Restaurant Andre, Black Star Pastry, Zumbo, Le Matin Patisserie first started as an online pastry shop during Circuit Breaker last year, and it has since opened a physical shop at Raeburn Park earlier this year.

Other than the Le Matin Basics which featured 5 pastries, we also tried the Savoury Box: Assemblag that came with 4 savoury pastries including the new Lamb & Red Wine Pie and Wagyu & Bone Marrow Sausage Roll.

Each pastry box from Le Matin Patisserie comes with 4 or 6 pastries and each drop can vary in accordance to the technique and seasonal supplies.

Le Matin Basics (S$34)

Kouign Amann

Pain Au Chocolat

Lacto-fermented Plum Galette

Brioche Feuilette

Bread and Butter Pudding

Out of the five pastries from Le Matin Basics box, we loved the Kouign Amann, Pain Au Chocolat and Brioche Feuilette.

Laminated with lots of butter, the Brioche Feuilette—a croissant-brioche hybrid—was truly outstanding with an extremely buttery and crispy pastry. The signature Kouign Amann was equally buttery, flaky and had subtle hints of vanilla.

Chocolate lovers will love the Pain Au Chocolat which was stuffed with Valrhona dark chocolate and came with a molten chocolatey center.

Savoury Box: Assemblage (S$58)

Lamb & Red Wine Pie

Wagyu & Bone Marrow Sausage Roll

Escargot Escargot

Beef Tongue and Cheese Croissant Panini

The Savoury Box that comes with 4 savoury pastries including the new Lamb & Red Wine Pie and Wagyu & Bone Marrow Sausage Roll. The savoury pastry that stood out the most was the Beef Tongue and Cheese Croissant Panini. The croissant was layered with Beef Tongue and Wagyu Bresaola, a mix of 4 different cheeses, as well as pickled rose petals, butternut and horseradish.

How about escargot in a pastry? Le Matin Patisserie shaped the traditional croissant like a snail and filled it with escargots from France. This was the perfect balance of savoury and sweet.

You can also add on cold brews to your pastry boxes and they include Black Coffee (S$5), White Coffee (S$5), Oat Milk Coffee (S$7) and Chocolate (S$7).

Le Matin Patisserie offers Island-wide courier delivery at a flat-rate fee of S$10 for a single location on the same date. Enjoy free delivery with a minimun order of S$80.

The Bread Rack is an artisan bakery cafe near Serangoon and Kovan which specialises in freshly-baked sourdough, croissants and baguette.

It opened earlier in January this year and it has already garnered a following amongst residents in the neighbourhood for its delicious croissants and pastries.

The Bread Rack is located at Space@Kovan which also has other food places including Soi 19 Thai Wanton Mee, PokPok Keh and P.Osh brownies.

They bake everything on premise daily and you can be assured of the freshness of their bakes.

Other than a selection of croissants, sourdough, baguette and country loaf, you can also get croissant sandwiches as well as breakfast platter.

We had the Butter Croissant (S$3.8) and Almond Croissant (S$4.8). The crisp layers flaked away nicely as you bit into the super buttery and airy croissants.

The Bread Rack certainly has one of the best croissants you can get in Singapore.

Catching our attention is the newly-opened kómma Social Café, which recently opened its doors just last year in December at Paya Lebar Quarter (PLQ). Boasting an open-concept interior, the minimalistic space is adorned with plush cushions, seats, and shelves of artisanal crafted goods, making it a casual hangout spot for one to chill and sip on a cuppa with their pals.

They also host monthly workshops and activities, aiming to start conversations amongst the creative community.

kómma serves up a selection of pastries and coffee, offering only small bites for the casual diner.

We tried the Chocolate Banana Waffle (S$10); you can choose between a half and full waffle and complement them with either sweet or savoury toppings.

The Chocolate Banana waffle is first toasted, laden with chopped roasted banana slices, butter and then sprinkled with cocoa nibs and sugar. The thick waffle also came with a Nutella spread. But to be honest, we thought that the waffle was very underwhelming; they were soggy and undercooked.

Just stick to drinks and forget about the waffle.

Get your caffeine fix with their Iced Latte (S$5.50)! For coffee enthusiasts, kómma has collaborated with Huggs Coffee, offering coffees made from speciality coffee blends.

The beverage was smooth and creamy, leaning towards the lighter, milkier side. If you are a mild coffee lover and prefer something less strong and bitter, then you will definitely like this drink.

If you’re a fan of the crisp layers of croissants and the way the flaky pastry just seems to melt on your tongue, Au Croissant will be right up your alley. Tucked away in Aperia Mall (that’s just a stone’s throw away from Lavender MRT), this hidden gem of a bakery specialises in their quirky flavours of croissants along with other wonderful breads and pastries.

We first savoured the Custard Cruffin (S$3.80)! The cruffin was definitely a stunner with a hint of creamy custard oozing out the top of the golden-brown pastry. It is also lightly dusted with icing sugar and if you ask the friendly staff to toast it for you, the icing melts into a nice glossy glaze that coats the crispy shell.

What we loved was that the cream was light and airy – not too sweet and cloying – such that it contrasted with the indulgent pastry encasing it.

Au Croissant also makes a variety of fun flavours of their croissants such as the Banana Kaya, Purple Sweet Potato, Gula Melaka and Peanut Butter Croissants. They all cost S$4.80. We tried the enticing-looking Black Sesame Croissant (S$4.80).

The golden-brown pastry is glazed with a smoky black sesame crumble layer and then topped with more white and black sesame seeds. We were also surprised once we bit into the croissant, revealing that there was another layer of black sesame paste hidden inside.

It was smoky, sweet and buttery all in a single bite. We devoured this sweet treat in minutes!

The bakery is located nearest to Lavender MRT, just a 5 minute walk away from Lavender Exit B. Drop by Au Croissant if you’re craving some fun-flavoured croissants or toasty freshly-baked goods!

This seemingly-simple pastry was definitely the highlight of our trip down. Taking a painstaking 3 days to make, this croissant is certainly a labour of love we enjoyed to the fullest. We love how the pastry had a slight saltiness from the sea salt added to it.
TIONG BAHRU BAKERY

Starting from the bottom and now a household name for all things baked and delicious is Tiong Bahru Bakery. Aside from their already sinful buttery plain croissant is their Pain Au Chocolat, bringing chocolate-filled croissants to a whole new level of decadent. Just a bite will send you spiralling, craving for seconds (and thirds).

Tiong Bahru Bakery has several outlets. Check out the full list here.

We had the Butter Croissant (S$3.8) and Almond Croissant (S$4.8). The crisp layers flaked away nicely as you bit into the super buttery and airy croissants.

The Bread Rack certainly has one of the best croissants you can get in Singapore.

The Lunar Rabbit Boulangerie’s Classic French Croissant is excellent. It is light and airy on the inside and crispy on the outside.

When it comes to artisanal bread and pastries baked fresh, very few do it better than the good folks over at Enjoué Bakery. Specialising in a vast array of quality European-style artisanal bread, pastries and cakes, each and every one of this humble bakery’s authentic bakes come with sturdy crusts imbued with the natural flavours of fermentation and a robust mouthfeel that is quite unlike any other.

All their products are hand-made, freshly-baked daily and free from any preservatives and other unnatural ingredients. In essence, what you are likely to get is real-deal, healthy loaves that boast spectacular flavour profiles and textures—something you probably will not be able to find at commercial bread shops.

Artisanal bread is all-natural and do not come laden with preservative, additives and chemicals—not to mention they taste so much better. It may take a bit of getting used to, but the pros of switching over to artisanal bread truly outweigh the cons, and Enjoué Bakery is perhaps one of the few in sunny Singapore that guarantees superior quality, wholesome loaves that come with the promise of unbeatable flavour.

Enjoué Bakery is having a special promotion of S$1 butter croissant (limited to 3 pieces per customer, daily) from now until 8 August 2018.

THE ORIGINAL ENJOUÉ BAKERY

Mention the name Enjoué and you’d probably get eye rolls and cynical remarks. But here’s the thing—Enjoué Bakery is the original Enjoué, but in recent times, it has been misrepresented and more often than not misunderstood for being the infamous cakes and dessert table company.

That Enjoué is now operating and known as Euphorique Bakery, but there is still a confusion between the two. The distinguishment is simple: Enjoué Bakery is a properly registered company with a proper shopfront, and they specialise in quality European artisanal bakes; while Euphorique Bakery is… Euphorique Bakery.

The latter leaves much to be desired with their endless scandals and sagas. We’ll leave you to decide if Euphorique Bakery is worth the time, but for us, we’d very much prefer to stick to the original Enjoué Bakery who is, by no means, affiliated to Euphorique at all.

BREAD THAT’S ALL-NATURAL

Enjoué Bakery works with numerous high-end restaurants and F&B brands across the country with notable names including the likes of Black Hole Group—the ones behind Working Title, The Mad Sailors, The Great Mischief & Santap—Bayswater Kitchen by Privé, Redtail by Zouk, Burgernomics and more.

The secret behind their bakes lies in organic flour and their starter dough, which for the uninitiated, is what many bakers rely on to make incredible naturally leavened bread. It is a fermented substance that consists of flour, water, salt and a lot of patience and is what’s responsible for kickstarting the fermentation process necessary for preparing tasty bread.

No preservatives, unnatural ingredients, or artificial enhancers and food colourings are used in any of their bakery offerings. Granted that the average shelf life of their products is shortened without preservatives, what you can expect is a much healthier (and tastier) option to regular store-bought bread.

You can look forward to classic breads including rye, pain aux céréales, Flaxseed Rye as well as gluten-free breads which are diabetic friendly and low in GI.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

Incorporating local flavours into Western dishes is something that many Singaporeans can appreciate. Using spices and flavours from classic Singaporean dishes gives us a comforting feeling and this new croissant burger will not disappoint.

The rendang flavour was spot on and the spices were very well-balanced. The juicy cubes of chicken are evenly bathed in the sauce and every burger comes with a very satisfying portion of chicken rendang.

Together with the buttery and flaky croissant bun, every bite sent us straight to rendang heaven. It really reminds us of digging into chicken rendang with some freshly made roti prata.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

In case the kids are worried, the rendang is also not too spicy so everyone can enjoy this. Wash the robust rendang flavours down with the cup of Iced Orange Blossom Tea. This refreshing tea gives a nice, sweet and citrusy ending to a gratifying meal.

You know what? Just go for the Chicken Rendang Croissant set (S$12.90) because it comes with two Pandan Madeleines and cup of the Hot Orange Blossom Tea.

This post is brought to you by Délifrance Singapore.

Délifrance is a familiar name to Singaporeans. It is an established bakery loved for their fresh bakes such as croissants, baguettes and other French pastries.

With a whole list of outlets islandwide, you can find a Délifrance outlet near you effortlessly. If you haven’t visited in a while, you should.

From 11 April to 22 May 2017, Délifrance will be launching two new croissant burgers that will definitely excite you. The two choices are Chicken Teriyaki Croissant Burger (S$9.90) and Turkey Meltz Croissant Burger (S$10.90), both with its own unique features and taste.

The Croissant burger have got us pumped up because we have always been fans of their classic croissants and this is like good ol’ croissants levelling up! How can we say no? Here is what you are going to miss out on if you do head down to your nearest Délifrance outlet.

CHICKEN TERIYAKI CROISSANT BURGER

The Chicken Teriyaki Croissant Burger (S$9.90) won us over even before we tried it. Just think about it—thick juicy chicken thigh marinated in teriyaki, sitting on top of a croissant burger base with lettuce and freshly sliced tomatoes and topped with a gorgeous poached egg. If you are lucky, you might even get a golden runny yolk center!

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

We were impressed by the marination of the chicken thigh. The teriyaki flavours were prominent and the chicken was extremely tender. And we never thought teriyaki chicken would pair so well with poached eggs! The contrasting textures made the burger a joy in every bite.

You should also add a hot/ iced Orange Blossom Tea and make it a set meal (S$14.90), which comes complete with a Mini Classic Cheesecake.

If you are dining with a partner, grab any 2 croissant burgers, 2 Orange Blossom Teas and 2 Mini Classic Cheesecakes for just S$25.

TURKEY MELTZ CROISSANT BURGER

Do not be intimidated by the Turkey Meltz Croissant Burger. It might look like a mess but trust us, it is worth digging into.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

A lean minced patty made of 100% turket meat is wrapped around oozy cheese, breaded then fried. When you cut through the burger, you will uncover the treasure—a generous cheesy center, piping hot and flavourful in every bite, with a lingering saltiness that is actually pretty damn addictive.

CUTE LI’L PROFITEROLES

Together with the launch of the new croissant burgers, you can also expect a medley of colourful profiteroles (sesame, vanilla and green tea)—3 pcs at S$6, 6pcs at S$12, 30pcs at S$55.

Because profiteroles shouldn’t be confined to just vanilla cream. It deserves a makeover and some fun, too!

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

MINI CHEESECAKES

And we have mini cheesecakes in classic and matcha flavours (1 pc at S$2.80 and 6 pcs at S$13.80). Well, they are the same cheesecakes that come in the set for your croissant burger.

We are thrilled to share that the cheesecakes are dense and creamy. The taste of matcha is subtle, while the classic remains satisfying with its savoury cheesy taste. The petite size of these cheesecakes also makes it a perfect dessert so you can avoid the dreaded post-meal “food coma”!

You can start enjoying these awesome new additions from 11 April 2017 all the way until 22 May 2017 at all Délifrance outlets in Singapore.

PS. A little blue bird told us that there is going to be a sequel to this croissant burger launch. New flavour awaits in May, but for now, you really have to try these April editions!

This post is brought to you by Délifrance Singapore.

It has only been two months since the launch of Délifrance’s Halal-certified gourmet flavour bursting croissants but the respectable French bakery chain that everyone grew up loving already has something new to offer.

As the trend of cheesy food remains highly popular, Délifrance has decided to fatten all of us further with the all-new Cheesy Lava flavour! The other flavours in the mini flavour bursting croissant range – Salted Egg, Hazel O’tella and Cookie Butter – will continue to be there for you any time you need a good croissant fix.

From 01 August onwards, all readers of Ladyironchef are entitled to one free Cheesy Lava croissant with any three pieces purchased. All you have to do is to flash this post to the friendly staff at any Délifrance outlet to redeem.

We are only too familiar with the first-rate French croissants Délifrance outlets carry and were really stoked to try the new Cheesy Lava flavour!

As with its partners-in-crime, the Cheesy Lava croissant in the mini flavour bursting croissant collection is one that is freshly baked and affordable – S$2.30 per piece and S$6 for three.

This delicate Cheesy Lava croissant features a top layer of parmesan cheese that is crispy and crumbles apart with every bite, leaving you with a mouthful of buttery crumbs and of course, molten nacho cheese lava. The cheese oozed out profusely when we cut into the croissants, and we sure aren’t complaining!

Apart from indulging in the Cheesy Lava croissant, Délifrance is introducing a red and white sweet treat in conjunction with National Day celebrations.

Look out for these dainty little Strawberry Cheese Tartlets that are going for S$9.50 in a box of six. In these tartlets are cream cheese and mascarpone cheese fillings upon their biscuity tart base and topped off with fresh strawberries.

Sure, they look like your regular tartlets. But wait till you pop them in your mouth. Luscious, creamy, cheesy; you will realise how you cannot stop at one.

In addition to that, Délifrance will be adding three new all-day breakfast items – Smoked Salmon Baked Egg Ciabatta, Smoked Salmon Scrambled Egg Ciabatta and Chicken Ham Baked Egg Ciabatta. They are all below S$10!

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

Ciabatta bread originates from Italy, and is a spin-off from the widely known French baguette. The signature of this bread comes from its elongated and broad surface that inspired the creative team at Délifrance for their new All Day breakfast add-ons.

Warm and milky scrambled eggs cocooned in fresh homemade Ciabatta; simple breakfasts are made of these.

The Smoked Salmon Scrambled Egg Ciabatta (S$8++) comes with generous chunks of smoked salmon pieces sitting in between the scrambled eggs, adding more flavours and making your meal more wholesome and nutritious.

Something worth commenting is that cheese has been placed on top of the ciabatta bread before it is put into the oven for baking, so you can expect a mild cheesy flavour.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

Délifrance’s croissants are characterised by the alternating distinct layers of crustiness and flakiness. The crescent-shaped pastries are crisp on the outside and wonderfully fluffy and buttery inside. This is truly what a good croissant should be like!

Délifrance has added final touches to the croissants by incorporating ingredients with contrasting textures.

The P’Nut Lava croissants are topped with desiccated coconut shreds, and are for those who prefer a rich, creamy sweetness.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

Then, there is the Hazel O’tella which are essentially Nutella-filled croissants sprinkled with chopped almond. What’s better than a buttery croissant?

Délifrance’s Nutella-filled croissant, of course! Think savoury butter saltiness coupled with contrasting creamy sweetness from Nutella; the end result is a luscious treat with every bite of the Hazel O’tella.

The Salted Egg croissants made with real salted egg yolk and they are covered in sesame seeds to give it a nice bite while enhancing the saltiness with a subtle hint of fragrance.

The Cookie Butter croissants finished with Biscoff caramelized biscuit crumbs are such sheer delights that really got us cookie lovers swooning. The kids will love this too.

Trust us that one flavour-bursting croissant is not enough!

You would probably expect such high-quality delicacies to be pricey, but these are affordable luxuries at S$2.30 each and S$6 for three.

If you are buying these croissants to go, you need not eat them cold. To restore the cold croissants to its fresh-from-the-oven glorious state, preheat your oven to 170 degrees celsius, then put the croissants in for 30 seconds to warm them up.

It is worth mentioning that the croissants actually do still taste good when left outside in room temperature. But of course, nothing beats a lukewarm croissant oozing the flavours we all love!

Back in the 90′s when we were growing up, cafes were a luxury and if we could have a croissant or a danish, we would be happy for the entire week. There were not many options then, and we say with certainty that most of us grew up with Délifrance.

In our memories, the French-style cafe was the closest we could get to Paris, and the baguettes and croissants were favourites that filled our hearts with glee. Today, cafes are aplenty and French bakes and sweets are commonly found, but Délifrance still holds a special place in our hearts. For one, the familiarity is ever comforting.

Recently, Délifrance has just relaunched the heritage croissant – an enriched version of its signature butter croissant – as well as four new croissant flavours. They reminded us of how Délifrance holds true to the French’s baking philosophies, and with the heritage croissants bagging home several awards, we are heartened to know that the French cafe will stay to impress many more generations.

We are also giving away 3 X S$50 Délifrance vouchers. More details of the giveaway at the end of this post. Here, we share Délifrance’s new croissant lineup that are available at all 30 Délifrance outlets in Singapore, and some promotional prices to tempt you further.

For many of us who grew up with Délifrance, we would be familiar with the signature butter croissant. And you would think not further than it being your childhood reward, but Délifrance has gone one step further now. It is not just a mere croissant; it is an award-winning croissant.

To pay homage to the Heritage Croissant, the taste is improved by using top quality French ingredients such as finely milled premium wheat flour from Grands Moulins de Paris (GMP), fresh butter from Brittany, and certified Label Rouge eggs. To put it simply, Délifrance’s new heritage croissants are now tastier, healthier and crispier.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

Don’t just take our words for it. Délifrance’s Heritage Croissants even received three Golden Stars – the highest honour awarded to exceptional products scoring 90 marks and above – in a blind taste test by a panel of experts from the world-renowned International Taste & Quality Institute (iTQi) in Brussels.

And for your tasting pleasure, Délifrance now has five different Croissants that are good for any time of the day. Sweet or savoury, you take your pick.

PLAIN HERITAGE CROISSANT (S$2.50 till 28 Feb/ U.P S$2.90)

So this is the star of the show. Try it for yourself to believe its buttery and flaky goodness. If you are lucky enough to be at Délifrance just when they have baked a fresh batch of Heritage Croissant, you will be rewarded with a warm and healthy croissant that is fresh from the oven and so very fragrant. Cut it up and you will see a beautiful layered bread that boasts a pale yellow shade, with the steam releasing from within and perfuming the air with a rich, buttery smell; we are in heaven.

Otherwise, the regular croissants still taste crispy and flakes while you eat. Grab a cup of coffee for a quintessential Parisian breakfast, and you are set to achieve great things for the day ahead.

ALMOND POULET (LIMITED TIME OFFER S$7.50)

The Heritage Croissant also comes in two savoury flavours that are filling and suffice as a full meal. The Almond Poulet (S$7.50), as the name suggests, is served with chicken and sprinkled with almond. It is the same buttery croissant, sliced in the middle and generously filled with grilled chicken slices and fresh greens, then finished with almond toppings. Perfect for a casual lunch, and good for a grab-and-go on a busy day when you are shuffling in between meetings.

TURKEY BACON & CHICKEN HAM (LIMITED TIME OFFER S$7.50)

Alternatively, opt for something with fuller fillings. The Turkey Bacon & Chicken Ham is something that we can eat on a regular basis, because the savoury pairing of turkey bacon and chicken ham is evergreen and never fails to satisfy. What makes this so pleasing is the adequate portion; it makes a great dinner without over-indulging.

CREAM CHEESE WITH STRAWBERRY TOPPINGS ($3.90)

The combination of cream cheese and strawberries is a winning recipe. The Cream Cheese with Strawberry Toppings Croissant (S$3.90) makes an ideal morning pick-me-up, or as a light snack in the middle of the day when you are feeling peckish. It goes especially well with a cup of tea. Just the thought of a good flaky croissant cocooning fresh cream cheese and plump strawberries fills our hearts with glee!

HAZELNUT CHOCOLATE WITH ALMOND FLAKES (S$3.90)

Hazelnut. Chocolate. Almond flakes. Croissant. Now, put them all in a sentence and what you get is a croissant that is irresistibly divine. The sweet treat that you’d need to wake you up in the mornings can be the same sweet treat that you’d need over afternoon tea. Well, let’s just say anytime is a good time for the Hazelnut Chocolate with Almond Flakes. This is our absolute favourite!

It would be perfect if it came with a molten chocolate filling. Imagine this – you’ve got a warm croissant, and rich chocolate flowing out as you cut the bread up… A chocolate lava croissant, anyone? We are keeping our fingers crossed that Délifrance would create this miracle soon.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

From now till 28 February, you can get the Heritage Croissant at a special introductory price of S$2.50 per piece. From 1 March onwards, it will retail as S$2.90 per piece, or S$8.90 for a pack of four.
