If there’s one thing that could get the attention of the whole of Singapore in a second, it would be a 1-for-1 promotion. It almost feels like our systems are wired to instinctively react to good deals. Our ears perk up, eyes widen and our gears are set at full speed.

Ready to roll?

We’ve rounded up the 10 best 1-for-1 promotions happening now in Singapore. These promotions are exclusively for delivery, because we know takeaways aren’t always the most convenient option. Whether you’re after an Italian indulgence or a Japanese feast, we’ve got it all down.

ANDY’S GRILL EXPRESS

Andy’s Grill Express is your friendly neighbourhood Western stall that serves hearty mains at truly reasonable prices. Their Ribeye Steak will only set you back at S$15 while their Cheese Trio Pizza is a real steal at S$10.

They’re having 1-for-1 S$10 sets, with your choice of chicken chop, pork chop or chicken pasta. The chicken and pork chop sets both come with salad and fries.

CAPTAIN K

Dabbling in seafood towers and hotpots, Captain K Seafood Tower is the first restaurant of its kind in Singapore. Anticipate fresh seafood and ingredients bubbling in delicious soup bases, as well as other Korean dishes.

With their ongoing promotion for 1-for-1 Korean mains, you can get double portions of Salt Grilled Mackerel, Cheesy Bacon Kimchi Fried Rice Budae-Jjigae Ramyeon and more for the same price! We are utterly spoilt.

Order here.

CHAPTER 55

Is there anything that sounds better than 1-for-1? Oh yes — if it’s all-day, every single day. This Italian bistro at the heart of Tiong Bahru is offering 1-for-1 pastas, pizzas and mains as well as 1-for-1 desserts.

Trust us when we say that their pastas are legit.

For islandwide delivery, there is a minimum order of S$40 (excluding GST) with a delivery charge of S$5. Enjoy free islandwide delivery if you spend S$50 and above (excluding GST)!

Order via WhatsApp here.

EN SUSHI

En Sushi first captured our hearts with their affordable yet top-notch sushi and sashimi bowls. Now, they’ve got us absolutely smitten with their 1-for-1 donburi promotion that’s been around since the start of the circuit breaker.

Two Salmon Aburi Mentai Don for S$28.90?! Yes, please. Not a fan of that? No problem — there are a ton more options to choose from. Oyakodon and Buta Kakuni Don (braised pork belly don) are available too!

Order here.

HARRY’S

Harry’s has opened so many outlets in Singapore that we’ve simply lost count. One thing we can count, though, is the number of slices in their divine Truffle Mushroom Flatbread. This dish alone could keep us returning to Harry’s again and again.

And here’s the best part — Harry’s is currently having a S$25 for 2 pastas or pizzas promotion. We’ve done the math and that’s S$12.50 per main. Say what?! Wait no longer.

Order here.

ICE EDGE CAFE

Ice Edge Cafe has everything you could ask for in a casual cafe. An extensive selection, great food and now, an all day 1-for-1 menu.

Their 1-for-1 menu is by no means, stingy. There’s a wide variety of pasta and pizza dishes to choose from, as well as filling mains. Their Tom Yum Seafood Linguine (S$16.80) is armed with a flavourful spicy kick while the BBQ Pork Ribs is a must-have dish.

Enjoy free islandwide delivery for orders S$50 and above. Otherwise, a S$5 delivery fee applies with a minimum order of S$40.

WhatsApp them at +65 8858 0900 or +65 8218 1870 to order.

SARPINO’S

When it comes to pizza, there are two camps — the thin crust lovers and those who like it thicc. If you fall into the former camp, Sarpino’s will be right up your lane. Their thin-crust gourmet pizzas are so crisp and easy to down. None of that chewy, dense crust nonsense.

Their 1-for-1 pizza promotion is available from Mondays to Thursdays and applies to all pizzas except for their personal pan pizzas. Valid only for online orders.

Order via their website here.

TSUTA RAMEN

While we all know Tsuta Ramen for their truffle-scented Shoyu Soba, they actually have a lot more tricks up their sleeves. Their Kurobisho Tonkotsu Soba one of their other noteworthy dishes — its infusion of burnt garlic oil instantly elevates the otherwise ordinary tonkotsu broth.

Right now, you get to enjoy two of their ramen for the price of one. That’s right, 1-for-1 ramen! No catches. No fine print. If ramen alone isn’t enough, they’re also having 1-for-1 combo sets which include edamame, gyoza, tori karaage and Japanese wheat tea bottles.

Snag this promo via their online delivery platform here.

UMI SUSHI

Umi Sushi was probably one of the first few sushi takeout concepts in Singapore. Armed with a truckload of sushi, rice bowls and udons, they’ll make sure you never walk away empty-handed.

Well, good news — their 1-for-1 Bento promotion is back! Yakiniki Beef, Tori Katsu, and even Unagi Bentos are up for grabs. Valid for online delivery orders from 2pm to 6pm daily.

Order via their website here.

YAYOI

Unadulterated, pure Japanese cuisine. That’s exactly what you’ll be graced with at this teishoku restaurant. Yayoi specialises in Japanese set meals, which entails a medley of sides, rice and an accompanying main dish.

Their food is superb, to say the least. One bite of their rice is all you need as evidence. Legit.

From now till 30 June 2020, they’re offering a 1-for-1 deal for their Teriyaki Chicken Don! Order via their Oddle platform here.

Located in the heart of Kovan—just a stone’s throw away from Kovan MRT Station—is Ice Edge Cafe.

The cafe-cum-restaurant has been around for a decade and has gained a huge following over the past years with its hearty savouries and stellar sweets. Dishes served here are very affordable and generously portioned; there is even a perpetual one-for-one lunch promotion* on weekdays!

You might have heard of their legendary Mao Shan Wang Lava Cake, Waffles and Homemade Brownies, but Ice Edge Cafe is more than that. It offers a menu of wallet-friendly dishes (most mains are priced under S$20). If you haven’t been, you are missing out, dude.

From now until 15 December 2016, quote “ladyironchef” to get a FREE Waffle with a scoop of gelato when you spend S$20 per table. This offer is valid during dinner daily.

#1 BUFFALO WINGS

Ice Edge Cafe’s Buffalo Wings (S$9.80+) come in a platter of six.

Each deep-fried chicken wing is coated in a hot peppery buffalo sauce that is infused with vinegar and butter, and garnished with herbs and spices. If you can’t handle spices well, steer clear of this.

The Buffalo Wings are part of Ice Edge Cafe’s 1-for-1 menu.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>//

#10 MAO SHAN WANG LAVA CAKE

The divine Mao Shan Wang Lava Cake (S$14.80+) is a must-order when at Ice Edge Cafe. And we’ve heard many stories of how people from all over Singapore travel to Kovan for this legendary dessert. It is safe to say the folks at Ice Edge Cafe pioneered the durian lava cake trend.

The King of Fruits has been integrated into a dense lava cake and warm molten durian will ooze out upon forking it. No efforts have been spared in the making of this signature dessert, and the end result is a robust, divine dessert that bursts with aroma. The lava cake comes with a scoop of gelato of your choice.

#11 WAFFLE

Super crisp on the outside and featherlight on the inside, the Waffles here are superb. Choose to top your waffle with one, two, three or four gelato scoop(s). Prices are S$10+, S$14.50+, S$19+ and S$23.50+ respectively.

There are many flavours to choose from for your gelato (which is also what Ice Edge Cafe is well-loved for), and unique flavours include Salted Egg, Japanese Yuzu and Cotton Candy.

#12 BROWNIE WITH GELATO

Like the idea of death by chocolate? Well, then you have to get the warm double chocolate brownie with chocolate sauce. This decadent dessert comes with either one or two scoop(s) of gelato; the former is priced at S$9.80+ whilst the latter would set you back S$14.30+.

And it is important to know that Ice Edge Cafe takes pride in their desserts, and this brownie is baked fresh in-house daily.

#13 CHEESECAKE

We can always do with a good cheesecake, yes? There are three flavours of cheesecakes available on a rotational basis, i.e. Blue Berry, New York and Oreo. Each rich cheesecake costs S$6.80+.

Of course, you need to top it off with a scoop or two of gelato.

From now until 15 December 2016, quote “ladyironchef” to get a FREE Waffle with a scoop of gelato (worth S$10+) when you spend S$20 per table. This offer is valid during dinner daily.

*The 1-for-1 Lunch Promotion is available every day on weekdays (excluding eves of and Public Holiday), and it is redeemable from 11.30am to 3pm. The higher-priced item will be charged. 1-for-1 items can be mixed and matched, and no splitting of bills is allowed.

Pietro Ristorante Italiano is tucked in a corner of Jalan Kelulut—a private residential area in Yio Chu Kang—and it has been dishing out authentic Italian dishes to its regulars since 2012.

The restaurant is segregated into two areas—al fresco dining and indoor seating. Deep shades of red on the wall, wooden furniture and a hanging chandelier; the restaurant gives off a homely and cosy ambience.

Helmed by Chef Aaron Png, Pietro Ristorante Italiano offers a wide variety on their menu. Go for the complete Italian experience by having a taste of the antipasti, salads, pasta, pizzas, mains and desserts.

From now until 15 December 2016, our readers can quote “ladyironchef” to enjoy 1-for-1 antipasti, pasta, pizza and mains from Mondays to Thursdays (lunch and dinner), as well as Saturdays (lunch) at Pietro Ristorante Italiano.

ANTIPASTI (APPETISERS)

The Antipasti menu features a selection of classic Italian starters such as Calamari Fritti (S$18++), Carpaccio di Manzo (S$22++) and the excellent Calamari e Gamberoni (S$28++)—an entire squid, grilled to perfection with King prawn stuffing, garlic, butter, a few drops of lemon and a dash of white wine.

PRIMI PIATTI (PASTA)

Italians actually have their pasta as a starting course before proceeding to their mains, so the term “Primi Piatti” refers to first dishes. Although it is unlike our culture to have it as a starter, do not shy away from doing so; after all, it is only right we do the Italian way when in an Italian restaurant.

People often comment that it is a mistake to order a squid ink pasta on your first date, but we would do so anyway with the Spaghetti al Nero di Seppia (S$28++) because it is one of the best things on the menu. It comes fashionably with prawns, squid, scallop, clams and garnished with chilli.

Other pasta that you can find on the menu include Spaghetti Aglio Olio e Fungi (S$18++), Linguine Alfredo al Frutti di Mare (S$26++) and Spaghetti alla Carbonara (S$18++).

RISOTTO

We Asians can never back away from our staple, even at an Italian restaurant. That is especially true at Pietro Ristorante Italiano, because the Risotto di Mare e Zafferano (S$28++) looks extremely fine.

The risotto rice comes in a bright shade of yellow due to its buttery saffron cream sauce and has toppings such as prawns, clams, squid and scallop.

DAL FORNO O (TRADITIONAL BRICK PIZZA OVEN)

There is a counter right at the end of the restaurant where you can watch the chef assemble your pizza before putting them into a traditional brick pizza oven.

The Pizza Carnivora (S$26++) was served with edges slightly charred, but that’s how we love our pizzas. Generous chunks of mushrooms, ham, minced beef, homemade sausage, cherry tomatoes and mozzarella cheese were placed on top of the thin crust which was lavishly smeared with tomato sauce.

The purists will enjoy the Pizza Margherita (S$16++) and Pizza Funghi (S$20++). For something more extravagant, go for the Pizza Prosciutto di Parma (S$32++).

There are seven pizzas—including Pizza Margherita, Pizza Hawaiian, Pizza Romana—that you can get with the 1-for-1 promotion.

CARNE & PESCE (MEAT & SEAFOOD)

The Pancetta Arrosto (S$24++) blew our minds. This is a roasted pork belly dish with the best crackling skin we can ever ask for; it was extremely crispy and falls into crumbs in our mouths.

You will also find porcini mushrooms and kidney beans on the side, with apple sauce for dips. Now, listen up—no one steps out of Pietro Ristorante Italiano without trying this.

That’s not all. You can also have the sublime Merluzzo (S$34++)—a perfectly cooked Cod fish with white wine, purple grapes and cherry tomato sauce; and the ever-popular Filetto di Manzo—grilled Australian beef tenderloin with red wine porcini sauce.

From the Meat & Seafood menu, you can enjoy 1-for-1 promotion on the Pan-fried Salmon Fillet (S$26++), Rosemary Chicken (S$22++) and Crispy John Dory Fish (S$22++) with white wine sauce.

DESSERTS

Forget about your usual chocolate lava cake. At Pietro, there is a Tortino di Cioccolato al Pistachio (S$15++)—pistachio flavoured lava cake so well done that all it takes is just one cut on the cake to unleash the warm pistachio flood. It is paired with a scoop of vanilla gelato, and when eaten together, everything is just a creamy goodness that is unbelivable.

Another popular dessert item is the Tiramisu al Pistachio (S$14++). Yes, the tiramisu is filled with layers of Mascarpone cream for the sweet tooth! This one has strong espresso coffee flavours with a subtle hint of pistachio taste.

From now until 15 December 2016, our readers can quote “ladyironchef” to enjoy 1-for-1 antipasti, pasta and pizza (on selected dishes) at Pietro Ristorante Italiano. The promotion is valid from Mondays to Thursdays (lunch and dinner), as well as Saturdays (lunch).

Pizza is one of the most recognized food in the world today. There used to be only one place for pizzas when I was still young, and that was Pizza Hut. But as I grow older, I found satisfaction in seeking new places for something new. Having said that, I still love my Hawaiian pizza from Pizza Hut.

Whenever I want to explore a new place, I am thankful of the fact that there are so many Pizza restaurants in Singapore. Be it Pizza Buffet, Gourmet Pizza, Italian Thin Crust Pizza, Skinny Pizza, American Style Thick Crust Pizza, 1-for-1 Pizza, or the best Pizza promotions in Singapore — we’ve got them covered in this post.

Here is a list of the best Pizza Places in Singapore:

I think Pizza is the best excuse for having beer. The fact that you can have Pizza at any time of the day is also a bonus. Without further ado, let’s see which are the pizza restaurants.

Having been to Bella Pizza on several occasions, their pizzas have never disappointed me. This is definitely my favourite Pizza Place in Singapore!

Is Pizzeria Mozza the best pizza restaurant in Singapore? I don’t know… It is really hard to say since there are so many good pizzerias in Singapore. But I think it is definitely amongst the best.

During Saturday lunch, OChre Italian restaurant at Orchard restaurant has an Eat-all-you-can pasta & pizza buffet.

I’m sure you will agree with me that skinny pizzas are the ladies’ favourite – thin, healthy and not too filling. Skinny Pizza has three outlets in Singapore: Raffles City, Wheelock and Suntec City. Otherwise, you can always get them from Barracks Cafe at Dempsey road.

I have been putting off the review of California Pizza Kitchen at Forum the Shopping Mall for a while now. The pizzas are fine, really. But I don’t have any inspiration to blog about it as the photographs are quite unappetizing.

“Can you recommend a nice restaurant in Orchard for dinner?”

This is one of the common questions I get from my readers and friends. I always struggle to come up with a suggestion since I do not fancy dining in Orchard. Yes, there are plenty of shopping malls, but almost all of them have identical restaurants and it really gets boring after some time.

I’m sure most pizza lovers have heard of California Pizza Kitchen (CPK), and having been there – I think it’s a pretty good place for a nice, simple dinner in town.

Since we did not have the chance to try the famous Peking Duck Pizza at Timbre, we decided to go for CPK’s Peking Duck ($20.90). Roasted duck breast, with melty mozzarella cheese on the thin crust pizza that’s scattered with crispy wontons, slivered leek, and shiitake mushrooms. Granted, the leek gave a distinct taste to the pizza, but I wished that there was less of the leek and more of the roasted duck breast.

It only seemed wise to order the popular (and safe) Hawaiian Pizza ($18.90) after going for the exotic Peking Duck. It was perhaps, a little too safe. With the typical pineapple-ham-mozzarella-cheese-tomato combination, there wasn’t any room for surprises. But still, it’s a pizza that everyone enjoyed.

* * *

There’s also pastas available on California Pizza Kitchen’s menu, but we gave it a miss as we wanted to try their pizzas. If you are looking for food in Orchard road, why not drop by Forum the shopping mall (beside Hilton Hotel) and check out the pizzas from California Pizza Kitchen?

Pizza Places in Singapore that I want to go next: Peperoni Pizzeria at Greenwood Avenue, Da Paolo Pizza Bar at Chips Bee Garden and of course, Bella Pizza!
