I heard everyone has a separate stomach for desserts. At least, it’s true for all those with a sweet tooth like me. Some people say that Sydney is known for the awesome cafés and beaches. However, do you know there is quite a handful of amazing dessert places too?
Here is a list of my top 10 favourite dessert places in Sydney. While discovering Sydney, why not make it a sweet one too?
Earlier this year, I had the chance to travel to New York to visit Dean & Deluca, and I had the time of my life. During that week, I ate, and ate, and ate some more. New York is a destination for every food lover, and I was simply blown away by the dining scene.
Here’s my New York City Dining Guide. I’ve included my favourite restaurants, cheap eats, bakeries and desserts, which will make you want to buy a ticket and fly off to NYC immediately.
It is not my practice to write about new restaurants/cafes immediately after their opening; I have a policy of a three months buffer. But Kith Cafe has been around for a long time, so I thought it would be of no harm to share about their new outlet at Park Mall.
I like the new Kith Cafe. Since its opening last month, I’ve been there a few times, and it has quickly become my favourite hangout place in Orchard Road.

Singaporeans are a disgruntled lot. We complain about everything under the sun, and about the sun as well! The weather is too hot and humid for anything outdoors and so we hide in the air conditioned comforts of shopping malls. Then we bemoan the lack of things to do. This never ends, does it? Why not bear the heat, explore the green spaces we have and marvel at the beauty of nature? You may even find some hidden surprises.
Casa Verde is one of those surprises. Very few dining establishments can boast of being at the doorsteps of nature. What’s more? It is located in the heart of the city, nestled in a quiet corner of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. The vibe is relaxed, with pets roaming freely in the alfresco area and people chilling after a hike in the park.
Whether it’s green chicken curry you are craving, or pad thai, tom yum or green mango salad, Nana Thai at Golden Mile Complex has it all. And the best part? The food is authentic and very affordable. Something tells me that I will be a regular at this humble Thai eatery.

Living in Singapore made me realize that Italian cuisine is one of the cuisines most of us are adapted to eating here. When asked what kind of cuisine I was craving for, apart from Japanese food being my most favourite, the other next thing that came to my mind was Italian food.
Located at The Quayside, Robertson Quay, da Mario Pizzeria was the Italian restaurant we were up for that night. The dining space was of a cosy ambience, alfresco style, recommended for group dining up till 4 pax.
The menu is mainly divided into categories like pizza ($17-20), pasta ($18-30), and dessert ($5-10). The mid-range Italian restaurant is definitely a place that I can see myself returning over and over again.
The merest mention of the word “cake” can turn my head, so naturally, I am always on the lookout for places to try. If you are a dessert lover like me, you must check out Grin Affair, a new cake shop – nestled in the quiet Everton Park estate (where you can also find Nylon Coffee Roasters) – which serves cakes in glass jars.
I’ve often been asked to share my secrets of food photography, but to be completely honest, there is really no secret to taking good photos. You just need to practice more and find your own style.
