This Mid-Autumn Festival 2017, indulge in TungLok Group’s new mooncake creations on top of the classics. The household brand is a well-loved name in Singapore and we are abashedly die-hard fans of all their gastronomic creations.

Newly introduced this year are the Petals Mochi Snowskin Mooncake, Sweet Hearts Mochi Snowskin Mooncake and Lava Custard & Matcha Oolong. They are beautifully shaped into hearts and flowers, and are a treat to savour.

You can also look forward to TungLok Four Seasons, which includes the traditional quad of Egg Yolk White Lotus, Egg Yolk Red Lotus and Egg Yolk Pandan Lotus with Pistachios and Mixed Nuts. This old-school set will never go out of style.

It is tucked at a corner on the second level of Cuppage Plaza and you wouldn’t otherwise walk past it unless you were particularly looking out for it. The nondescript outlet has been around for three decades. We actually only discovered it about seven years ago but it has since remained as a favourite of ours whenever we want a simple, affordable Japanese meal in Orchard Road.

Izakaya Nijumaru is one hidden gem (literally) in Cuppage Plaza.

But if you find it, we say you walk right in and treat yourselves to a good Japanese meal. You’d be pleased to know that the prices are very reasonable and the menu is comprehensive.

Original Cake, Taiwan’s famous Castella cake shop, is opening its first outlet in Singapore on 23 September 2017 at 10.30am.

Original Cake is a well-known bakery from Taipei that specialises in Castella cakes. Staying true to their original recipe derived from tradition, they have since come up with new and innovative variations to trump the competition—namely their Frozen Chocolate version that is made with HERSHEY’s chocolate chips that we are all excited for!

Having only been established in 2010, they already have four outlets in Taiwan and eight outlets around Malaysia (3 in Penang, 3 in Klang Valley, 1 in Putrajaya and 1 in Johor Bahru); this is a true testament to their success and outstanding Castella cakes.

We first reported the news of the opening of Omotesando Koffee back in April 2017 and boy are we glad that it is finally in Singapore.
