Fried Oyster

MBK Center in Bangkok is a popular destination among visitors, and the mall has shops of all kinds. You can shop for clothes here, as with shoes. There is a whole level dedicated to IT gadgets, a cinema, hyper marts, and of course, lots of food options.

MBK’s very popular food court, located on the sixth floor of the building, is somewhere we love amongst all the restaurants in the mall. It may sound strange, but there really is a lot to love there!

The food court has more than 20 stalls, and what appeals to customers the most is definitely the inexpensive prices for better-than-average traditional Thai and street food.

Some stalls stand out above the rest, some are underwhelming. But to help you streamline your choices when you are there, here is our list of the 12 Must-East Dishes at MBK Center’s Food Court.

Lana Cake Shop’s Owner Is Retiring And Looking For A Successor

Lana Cake Shop

The owner of Lana Cake Shop, Mrs Violet Kwan, is retiring and she is looking for a successor to take over the legendary chocolate cake shop.

This iconic cake shop at Greenwood Avenue has been around since 1975, and there is a reason why it has remained immensely popular for so many decades. Moist and extremely chocolatey, you will never look at chocolate cakes the same way again once you have tried Lana Chocolate Cake.

And it is such a shame that we might never get to taste it again (unless the right successor is found).

Double Scoops – Charcoal Waffle, Salted Egg Yolk & Matcha KitKat Gelato + 50% OFF Desserts

Double Scoops Header

Living in the heartlands of Singapore does not mean artisanal gelato is inaccessible. Barely a year old, Double Scoops is an artisanal gelato cafe situated right in the heartlands of Ang Mo Kio, offering premium low-fat gelato at very reasonable prices, alongside a plethora of desserts.

Gelato is always a good idea, especially with Singapore’s humidity. Gelato is loved for being a healthier option as opposed to ice cream because of the lower fat content and use of better ingredients.

This humble gelato parlour has won us over with their no-frills concept that focuses on serving quality desserts. From now till 31 March 2016, readers of ladyironchef can flash this post or quote “ladyironchef” to enjoy 50% OFF the 2nd Waffle/ Shibuya Toast (of same value or lower) purchased from Mondays to Fridays.

[Closed] The Chicken King – Buttermilk Chicken Waffles With Salted Egg Sauce

Salted Egg Chicken Waffles

Updated on 18 March: The Chicken King has stopped operations due to manpower issues.

Tucked away in a quiet street of food stalls at Toa Payoh, The Chicken King is by the same people behind Orchid Live Seafood, helmed by none other than the man himself, Chef Steven Chua.

It is an unassuming-looking outlet that got our attention with their chicken-only menu. No service and ambience to speak of, so don’t expect anything at all. They are really just a small eatery that would do for a fast, hassle-free meal.

The Chicken King is a very different concept from its sister restaurant, offering hearty and affordable food in the heartlands of Toa Payoh.
