Bronte Australian Restaurant

Bronte Eggs Benedict

I don’t know about you, but brunch is one of my favourite meals. I always look forward to having brunch during the weekends. The perfect excuse presented itself a few weeks ago when I met up with Felicia for the first time since she came back from Paris, and we had brunch at our favourite neighbourhood – Greenwood Avenue.

I was trying to decide on a place as I looked through my Guide to Restaurants in Greenwood Avenue, and for some reason, Bronte, a family owned neighbourhood restaurant which serves modern Australian Cuisine, called out to me.

No prize for guessing where we went for brunch.

Bronte at Greenwood Avenue has a casual and unpretentious setting, which means to say you can go there for a good meal without worrying about having a wardrobe malfunction. If you are looking for a place to go for brunch this weekend, take up your phone and make a reservation at Bronte.

Guide to Resorts World Genting + 3D2N Giveaway

Advertorial
Guide to Genting

Updated: The 3D2N Genting giveaway has closed. The winner is comment #172, congrats Penny! I will be sending you an email in a bit.

I had the chance to visit Resorts World Genting – the most popular tourist destination in Malaysia – and it was an eye opening experience as I learned many new things about Genting that I never knew before.

I thoroughly enjoyed the trip because I went with Beatrice and Selene, who are great travelling companions. But most importantly, I felt like I was visiting my second home – Genting would always hold a special place in my heart because my family goes there every year for a getaway.

I remember the first time I was in Genting, and how everything felt so magical; the first time that I fell down because I was too excited at the outdoor theme park; the first time I took the cable car up to the mountain resort; the first ice cream that I ate in the cool weather – all the first time experiences that I had in Genting.

For many people, Genting is about the exciting rides at the magical outdoor theme park; the cold and nice weather; and the gaming and entertainment in the casino. It was the same for me, until I spent a weekend there with the girls. We discovered that Genting has a lot more to offer. So here’s my Guide on Things to do in Genting Highlands.

We are also giving away a 3D2N stay at Maxims Genting, details are at the end of the post. Good luck you guys!

Before you read the rest of my post, here’s a video trailer that Beatrice did for our adventure in Genting.

Akanoya Robatayaki Orchard Parade Hotel

Akanoya Robatayaki

It’s nice to have friends who love food. Whenever I hangout with Beatrice and Velda, we will always be looking for new places to try.

During our recent glutton outing, we were joined by our friend Ming, and he introduced us to one of his favourite Japanese Restaurants in SingaporeAkanoya Robatayaki at Orchard Parade Hotel.

It was an exceptional meal, and despite the price tag, I think it is worth saving up for that special occasion.

Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant

Roasted Suckling Pig

Si Chuan Dou Hua is one of the most well-known restaurants in Singapore for Sichuan and Cantonese Cuisine. When I heard that the chefs at Si Chuan Dou Hua have created a pretty affordable set menu with suckling pig as the highlight, I knew I had to make a trip down.

The Roast Suckling Pig Feast is priced at $258++ and $428++ for 6 persons and 10 persons respectively. Which makes it at just $50/pax for the 8 course meal after tax and service charge. I think it’s a really good deal, and you should go to Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant at Parkroyal on Kitchener Road before the promotion ends on 30 April.

Brunch

It’s really interesting that whenever I blog about a certain cuisine/food, I get a lot more traffic. After blogging for so many years, I guess it becomes a part of me, and I usually have a pretty good hunch of things that people like the most. It’s really not that difficult to spot future food trends.

Want to make a guess which are the Top 5 Most Popular Posts that you guys like to read on my food blog?

Food For Thought Singapore Botanic Gardens

Food For Thought

Food For Thought Cafe is one of those places that immediately come to mind whenever someone asks me to recommend a place that serves decent food at affordable prices.

They have recently closed down their original branch at North Bridge Road, and shifted to a much bigger location at Singapore Botanic Gardens. Well, it is probably an understatement to say that it is much bigger. The new outlet can easily accommodate more than 200 people. This is definitely great news for regulars who always frequent the cafe.

Mandarin Grill at Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong

Mandarin Grill“Flower pot” salad

On my recent trip to Hong Kong, I had one of my best meals this year. I’ve heard about the restaurants at Mandarin Oriental Hong Kong, but somehow, I didn’t get the chance to go there during my previous trips. Boy am I glad I finally had the chance to go Mandarin Grill. And I think you should make an reservation if you’re going to Hong Kong soon.

Mandarin Grill is an one Michelin Star restaurant at Mandarin Oriental, one of the best hotels in Hong Kong. The lunch that I had was amazing. A-m-a-z-i-n-g. Even though it’s only April, I can confidently say that this is definitely going into my list of Best Meals in 2012.

Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon) Travel Guide

Saigon Travel Guide

While I still have a few more posts from my other trips (Lyon, Paris, and Hong Kong), I thought I’d blog about my recent visit to Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) – commonly known as Saigon – the largest city in Vietnam and the former capital of the Republic of Vietnam.

This post is a simple guide to Saigon based on my trip there. Since I only had a few days to try some places, this is by no means a complete eating guide to restaurants in Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon). I’d love to go back again and eat at more places, but we’ll have to see how that goes.

So for now, here’s my Travel Guide on where to eat in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
