Chiang Mai is the only city in Thailand that made it to Tripadvisor’s 2012 list of 25 best destinations in the World. My friends and I had the time of our lives in the biggest city of Northern Thailand, swinging across from tree to tree on zip lines, driving ATVs along the edges of steep mountains and white water rafting down rapids of a valley.
As dawn approached, we enjoyed a breathtaking panorama view of the city on a hilltop restaurant before shopping at late night markets. Refusing to call it a night, we partied away in Chiang Mai’s swankiest club and finally rested in a newly opened boutique hotel. I had the privilege of flying to Bali and was hosted at Sheraton Bali Kuta Resort for a short but much needed respite.
There are many reasons to love Sheraton — contemporary Balinese interior of the resort, well-furnished rooms that promise a comfortable stay, friendly staff who are always ready to go the extra mile just to make sure everything is in place for the guests, and partake in Sheraton’s Social hour (a wine program which allows guests to sample tasting selections of wine from 5pm to 7pm daily) — but above all, it is my top choice because of its proximity to the beach. With two back-to-back work trips, May flew by just like that, and we are already saying hello to June.
