I have been eating a lot of cakes recently. Hold on, please allow me to rephrase that: I eat a lot of cakes all the time, but recently, I have been having them way too often.

Canele Patisserie currently has three locations: Robertson Walk, Orchard Paragon and Shaw Centre. It has been a long time since my last visit, but it’s mainly because I wanted to check out the other patisseries in Singapore. Are you game for more cakes?

My idea of a good breakfast is something like this: start with a bowl of cereal with milk, and proceed on with a scrumptious big breakfast of eggs, ham, sausages, bacon, grilled tomato and sauteed mushrooms. On some days, I’d prefer to have the delightful eggs benedict, accompanied by a stack of pancakes with lots of syrup. Breakfast, like what they say, is the most important meal of the day.

But there are times where I don’t really fancy the English breakfast. Sometimes, all I want is a cup of kopi, two half boiled eggs, and my favorite kaya butter toast. And I usually have the famous Ya Kun Kaya Toast.

After I took sip(s) of champagne, someone stared at me for giggling, but ten seconds later, she did the same thing. Champagne does funny things to people, and you know what? Weekends are meant for Champagne Brunch!

I never liked the idea of Dim Sum Buffet. Before my virgin attempt at Cherry Garden’s Champagne Dim Sum Brunch, that is. It seemed ridiculous to me that I’d have to fork out 50 bucks just to gorge myself silly, when I could have treated myself better by going ala carte style and probably pay a lot lesser.

In the local Singapore food scene, there are always new restaurants opening and it is good since we have more options to choose from. Dempsey road restaurants is probably one of the most happening food destinations in Singapore. The Disgruntled Chef is the latest restaurant to join the crowd at dempsey hill, but when it comes to choosing a place for dinner – I would head back to Barracks Cafe, House Dempsey road.
