This guide to Singapore’s best waffles was last updated on 24 Feb 2015.
Topped with fresh fruits, a scoop of ice cream, and a dollop of whipped cream, a good waffle is something that you can eat every day. For those of you who prefer something simpler, waffle with maple syrup and butter is equally gratifying.
There are many cafes and ice cream parlours that offer waffles on the menu, but only a few are exceptional. Here is our guide on where to get the best waffles in Singapore.
CREAMIER
The waffles from Creamier came highly recommended by many people, but after trying it, we did not think that it was that fantastic. Don’t get us wrong, the waffle that we had was very decent, and still better than most places – but we don’t get the hype over it. That said, it is impressive to see a cafe/ice cream shop doing well in a HDB estate, so if you are living in the area, and looking to satisfy your cravings, this is one place you can consider.

DANCING CRAB AT ORCHARD CENTRAL
We were wowed by the huge serving of Chicken & Waffles (S$15) at Dancing Crab, one of the best non-seafood dishes here. The batter on the chicken reminded us of the ones we had at New York City, and the accompanying sauces took this dish to a whole new level. It is indeed unexpected for a specialised seafood restaurant to dish such a mind-blowing rendition of fried chicken, and as much as it sounds funny, we will totally return to Dancing Crab for this very Chicken & Waffles.

We also like the Belgian style waffles with butter and maple syrup from Group Therapy Cafe at Duxton Road. They also have a more sinful version with peanut butter and maple syrup.

HATTER STREET
Hatter Street is one of the newest dessert cafes to open in the heartlands. Located in a HDB estate – just a few units away from popular Thai eatery Nakhon Kitchen – it offers desserts with a twist.
For waffles, Hatter Street serves three renditions (S$8) – waffle with salted caramel and homemade vanilla ice cream, waffle with chocolate ice cream and chocolate sauce, and for something different, go for the waffle with pandan ice cream and gula melaka sauce.

MAX BRENNER CHOCOLATE BAR
The waffles (S$18.90) at Max Brenner are not cheap, but they are easily one of the best that we have had. There are three different flavours, but our favourite is the Banana Spilt Waffle. Coated with a copious amount of rich and thick chocolate sauce, and topped with banana and vanilla bourbon ice cream, it is immensely satisfying, and will make you return again and again.

SALTED CARAMEL CAFE
This ice cream parlour along Upper Thomson Road is perpetually crowded for a good reason – it offers good ice cream and waffles at very affordable prices. A scoop of ice cream is S$3.30, while a waffle is S$3.50.
Some of the popular ice cream flavours at Salted Caramel Cafe include Earl grey, horlicks, rum & raisin, but you must try the namesake salted caramel ice cream. Add that to freshly made waffle and you will get instant gratification.

SIN LEE FOODS
A notch above the rest – that’s how we’d describe Sin Lee foods. It is different from most of the cafes that serve your typical brunch fare like Eggs Benedict and Pancakes. The offerings here are creative, well-cooked and refreshing.
Sin Lee Foods’ Fried Chicken & Waffles (S$21) has been gaining a lot of attention lately, but we thought that the fried chicken was slightly underwhelming. What you should try instead is the S’mores Waffle (S$16). Just imagine burnt marshmallows and Graham crumbs lavishly spread atop the thick waffles. Add a scoop of gelato and dark chocolate sauce and you are on your way to sugar heaven.

STATELAND CAFE
Located on Bali Lane, Stateland Cafe has been making a name for itself for serving waffles with different flavours. Served with a scoop of ice cream, and topped with homemade cream cheese glaze, the Red Velvet Waffle (S$14.90) indeed lived up to its name. Other flavours include Black Forest, S’mores, and Toffee Nut.

Tuxedo Cafe & Patisserie at Carlton Hotel Singapore is a favourite haunt. We like going there because it not only serves an array of delicious desserts, but it also provides free wifi, and is a conducive place for meetings. Tuxedo has a good value all-day waffle set (S$10.80++) which consists of a waffle and a cup of coffee or tea. Top up with a scoop of ice cream (S$2++), or caramelised banana and chocolate sauce (S$3.50) to go along with the waffle.

By aesthetics sense, this would be the best-looking waffle. Perched on top of their fluffy waffles is a generous portion of the signature soft-serve frozen yogurt. With plenty of fruits sitting around the waffle (S$12.50) with Froyo, this is the choice for those who choose to skip the richness of ice cream and want to stick to something healthier.

Wimbly Lu has the best waffles ($8.50 with a scoop of ice cream) in town. we have had it on several occasions and we are impressed by its consistency – it is always crisp on the outside and light and fluffy on the inside. It is very close to our definition of how a good waffle should be.
Our only gripe is the tiny portion of the ice-cream. It would be great if they gave a bigger scoop of the delicious homemade salted caramel ice cream.

23 JUMPIN
23 Jumpin is a new cafe located in an industrial building at Tai Seng, and it offers the best of both worlds for waffle lovers. Folks with sweet tooth will love the instagram-worthy Charcoal Waffle (S$7 or S$9 with a scoop of ice cream).
For those who like a good savoury waffle, 23 Jumpin has a Pizza Waffle (S$14). As the name suggests, it combines pizza and waffle – what a simple but clever idea! There are two flavours to choose from – mushroom with cheese and the classic Hawaiian pizza.

You forgot Waffletown at Balmoral Plaza.
Ice Edge Cafe’s waffles with Mao Shan Wang ice cream is awesome too!
Wow! These waffles are amazing! I would love to come and taste any one of them, or may be all of them!
@Jin I like Waffletown at Balmoral Plaza, but for this list i want to limit it to just 10 places, otherwise I would have added it in.
@Lynne I had Ice Edge’s waffles before. It’s good, but not the best, which is why I did not include it.
R U GOBLOGGER ? seriously how can you say creamier is mediocre ?
hi! should try waffles at Symmetry too! superrr goooood.
Some people just don’t get that others have different preferences.
very decent = mediocre? Use a dictionary before yapping away.
hello ladyironchef! seeing ice cube on this list of 10 best waffles is such a pleasant surprise! i’ve always thought ice cube had one of the best and most underrated waffles but couldn’t find anyone else who agreed. your post seriously makes me feel like going out to try me some new waffle places on this list, even at this hour!
Yes, i think creamier is fantastic. not just the ice cream but the waffle is great. i’ve tried others but i still think creamier is one of the best. so its quite baffling u say its not great
I ve tried many of those in your list. Most of them are just the typical round waffle, texture like those neighbour cake shop.
But I always go back to creamier for waffle plus ice cream. Well, that’s my preference. Creamier waffle ice cream top my chart.
Agree with your list! But you should include this neighbourhood gelato shop (Milk & Honey Gelato) behind Bedok 85 Market. They serve superb crispy waffles with their fresh gelato at an affordable price.
I only eat waffles from one place and that’s Creamier. They come out so beautiful – hot and crisp and with just the right amount of sweetness. They are exquisite – I’m not sure you can do better.
you should try out the tiramisu hero’s waffle!!!!
I love waffles from creamier!! Really crispy on the outside, fluffy inside. Solid waffles! So glad to see others who feels the same. It’s just too far for me to visit frequently. Whenever I crave for waffles, creamier will be the first I think of. Trying out DOC and wimbly lu next and I hope they won’t disappoint.
Great post!! I honestly thk creamier is overrated! But they’ve got one of the best pistachio ice cream in town definitely! It’s a pity you couldn’t squeeze in Strangers Reunion. ????
Hi ironchef, will you be keen to visit a ice cream shop at serangoon garden opposite the village mall. There is a shop selling red velvet waffle ice cream. Pretty good taste. I visited a couple of time. Maybe you can try! =)
Went to try the banana chocolate almond waffle at Restore Living and honestly it isn’t as fantastic as mentioned! I felt the Group Therapy’s was nice though
You should really try ice edge cafe at Simon plaza. Waffles perfected!
I feel Creamier’s waffles too hard that it hurts the top of my mouth. Come on…Wimbly Lu shouldn’t even be on this list. Waffles are just normal and ice cream is so unforgettable. Milk and gelato surprisingly is quite good for a neighbourhood place. My favourite is Wafflelicious’s chocolate frenzy. With Mudtella ice-cream is so awesome!
Tiramisu hero’s waffles shld be on the list. You can even have it without the ice cream.. so good..
YOU FORGOT TO MENTION ASSEMBLY COFFEE’S EARL GREY CARAMEL WAFFLES!! Crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, a lovely contrast between the warmth of the waffle and the vanilla icecream. It’s not too sweet and not too pricey either! Been there 3 times and it hasn’t failed to impress
Hi there!
May I ask where the waffle of the first picture is from? The waffle beside the KINFOLK magazine
Thanks LIC!
@Rebecca I like Assembly Coffee’s waffles too, but it is similar to the one from Department of Caffeine (the guy at Assembly used to be from DOC), which is why I didn’t include it in this list.
@Yan Kee It is from Maple & Market.
The waffles at Assembly Coffee are so yummy and consistent though. Even better than Wimbly Lu’s and way better than Salted Caramel’s (their’s is super super sweet) in my opinion so Assembly’s waffles definitely deserve a mention on top 10
November 8 has one of the best waffles around!
november 8 waffles taste fantastic too…it is at this thomson v1 near e famous udders ice cream…
Yes, I agree November 8′s waffles is better than Creamier’s but not the ice cream!Ironchef, you could try!
Seriously? Wimbly Lu? You should try something like Wafels&Dinges and write an article on how Singapore has absolutely no good waffles
I think Shrove Tuesday serves one of the best waffles in the heartlands of toa payoh!!! You should go try it out…
@Pixeldust I’ve tried it before and I thought that the waffles were okay, nothing to shout about.
Oblong at serangoon gardens has very nice red velvet waffles!
Esette at duxton Rd is the best I have tried!
The Little Prince Cafe has open a Creamery at Blk 47 Toa Payoh Lor 6, you can try their waffles and gelato, apparently it is all home made.. really yummy..!!!
i felt that maple&market has really great waffles however, the ice cream were not available the last time i went there
Beans & Cream at a HDB block in Bukit Batok has great waffles served with homemade ice cream. Their chocolate orange ice cream is yummilicious awesome!!
Hey Ladyironchef,
I drove all the way from the east to Serangoon Garden Estate (Kenshington Park Road) just to try your recommended yummy waffle at Ice Cube. What a disappointment.
You should try the waffle from D’zerts Cafe (Upper Changi Road) 30 Jalan Pari Burong. Next to Big Eater Restaurant.
Then you will know what is a standard waffle worth for recommendation. It goes well with the cafe special salted caramel sauce. Look for its dashing chef, Lemuel for recommendation.
Restore Living is closing October 6th 2014.
One place that i think deserve to be in the best 10 waffle place in Singapore is Sunday Folks! Their waffle is awesomely made and it taste just perfect
i felt that the waffle from Department of Caffeine and Group Is nothing to shout about
I’ve tried Wimbly Lu, Icecube, Shrove and Creamier BUT none beats Little Prince @ Blk 47 Toa Payoh Lor 6. Very yummy and the waffle taste more eggy than buttery. Best service too as the boss & team are there to serve, not those bad service part timers.
I love wimbly Lu’s waffles and Dgood’s waffles!
Anyway I love your food blog gets me and my girlfriend on food adventures each week
Thanks
daily scoop’s waffles are really good too.
I Love the waffle @The Peloton …good price and generous with fruit toppings
Wayne’s chill out at punggol is perfect!
I personally think that D’zerts cafe has the best fluffy waffles around and their ice cream are also all really tasty. The waffles are also made in small batches to ensure that all batter are fresh.
Fat Cat’s charcoal waffle with salted egg sauce should be in the list! Best waffle I had so far
I find Hatter’s waffles nice but it seems to be microwaved rather than freshly made on the spot… ????
You should try A spoonful of sugar ‘s waffles @ Changi Village. They have 2 types of waffles, the thin type and fluffy type! The thin and crispy is really nice!!! Eat it with salty Caramel ice cream and peanut butter ice cream….yummy!!
You forgot gelare
Twenty Grammes waffles is pretty stunning, don’t be deceived by the simple looks. The ice cream and eggy waffles combination is the best. Give it a try!
Wafflelicious from thompson near the pet store further down from where longhouse used to be also quite nice.
