I’m sure many of you know of the Michelin Guide to the best restaurants in the world. While the guide is a good reference for gourmet dining, the emphasis has always been on the Eurporean countries. This is where The Miele Guide comes into play: it was created to better recognize and celebrate Asia’s best chefs and restaurants.
It is difficult to cover all the good restaurants in Asia since the culinary scenes in most Asian countries are uncharted by any previous guides. This is when we can gladly say that food blogs in the respective countries are doing a fine job in discovering new hidden gems.
I’m very skeptical whenever it comes to ranking of restaurants. Everyone has different taste buds and preference, your best restaurant is definitely different from the one that I have in mind. Nonetheless, The Miele Guide which is currently in the third edition is an option if you need a guide for fine dining restaurants in Asia.

It is heartening to see some of the Singapore restaurants emerging on the list of best restaurants in Asia. Among the 20 best restaurants on the list, which one have you been to, and which is the restaurant that you want to try one day?
Long time reader, love the blog! I will be visiting Singapore (my birth country) this November and am eager for lunch at Iggy’s this time around. Never been to the old location, hoping the new location will be good too.
I’ve eaten at other renowned restaurants such as Jean-Georges, Le Bernadin etc, and am especially proud and excited the discover Singapore’s fine dining offerings
I probably wouldn’t be able to this trip, but I would like to try Jaan (though I’ll be staying at the Swissotel for 1 night too) or Gunther’s.
I’d love to also visit Bo Innovation just for the novelty of what they do. Definitely on my list of to-do whenever I do visit HK again.
I didn’t know that the Miele’s list was already out for this year. Thanks for sharing the list. Iggy keeps doing an amazing job from what I see. It’s being a while I haven’t been there, but it is always on my mind for any furure visit in the area. I remember enjoying some nice meals, in the past, at Yung Kee and Dum Pukht
I might try Iggy’s, but I remember the first iteration 6-7years ago. The food was expensive, experimental and terrible. hardly edible. I have not been back since. Hopefully, it’s improved greatly or else I’m just hearing reviews from the usual bunch of pretentious so-called conneiseures. The same people have made a certain bleach platinum blonde from Belgian rich when the hack couldn’t make a living in Europe. Tried his restaurant twice in the early 2000s – very average food in a noisy and cramped surrounds which is “hip” in bs speak.
