Some of the dishes that you can look out for are 6-month Aged Jamon Iberico Carving, Chorizo Sausages, Jarrete de Ternera (Bone-in Veal Shank with Onion Pearls and Carrot Marmalade) and Bacalado con Almejas (Cod Fillet with Fresh Manila Clams and Saffron). Our favourite?

There will be an array of Spanish desserts at the festive buffet spread, and the highlight is certainly the churros. The freshly fried and supremely addictively churros that comes with the most decadent orange chocolate dip, served warm no less.

From succulent roasts, to yule logs, Christmas fruitcakes, as well as festive treats, Executive Chef Eric Neo and his team at Intercontinental Singapore have got it all covered. The Pièce de résistance is Turkey “Panggang” ($135+ for 5kg, which is inspired by Chef Eric’s favourite local dish – Ayam Panggang. Instead of the typical roasted turkey, Intercontinental Singapore’s Turkey Panggang is given a refreshing oriental twist; you can be sure that all your guests will have nothing but praises for it.

Turkey aside, other festive roasts include Rolled Pork Belly Crackling ($120+ for 3kg), Roasted Duckling a l’Orange ($80+ for 2-3kg pre-roasted) as well as the Honey-glazed Pork Ham ($100+ for 2 kg).

This UK classic restaurant should be no stranger to everyone by now. Helmed by celebrity chef Jamie Oliver, its first Singapore outpost continues to delight its regulars with a menu that features well-cooked rustic dishes prepared with recipes that Jamie Oliver loves.

From now till 25 Dec 2014, Jamie’s Italian presents its 3-course Christmas Set Menu (S$68++/pax). Start off the meal with a glass of prosecco or mocktail upon arriving at the restaurant. Next up is the signature antipasti plank that is filled with pistachio mortadella, bresaola, hot soppressata, buffalo mozzarella, pecorino cheese, snappy cracker bread, olives, pickles, grilled & marinated vegetables, grissini, homemade focaccia, beetroot-cured salmon on ice with pickled cucumber & crème fraîche. What a feast on its own!

For main course, choose between the Slow-Cooked Duck Leg, 35-Day Aged Angus Sirloin, Sustainable Yellowfin Tuna or Baked Rotolo. Our favourite is the tuna – beautifully seared and served with pretty purple potatoes, this is a refreshing change from our usual yuletide meats.

Poulet is a familiar name that we always turn to when we want trusty comfort food without breaking the bank.
