Mandarin Court Chinese Restaurant (formerly known as Pine Court Chinese Restaurant) has undergone a revamp, with Chef Sunny Kong taking over the helm of the kitchen.
Nestled at the top of Mandarin Orchard Singapore (previously Meritus Mandarin) on the 35th level, the Chinese restaurant has a good view of the town area. It is currently one of my new favourite dim sum places in Singapore.
Pizza is one of the most recognized food in the world today. There used to be only one place for pizzas when I was still young, and that was Pizza Hut. But as I grow older, I found satisfaction in seeking new places for something new. Having said that, I still love my Hawaiian pizza from Pizza Hut.

I am always good at finding the best places to eat, but when it comes to drinks, I am lucky to have a group of friends who are familiar with the Best Bars in Singapore. To most people, alcohol is very important, but I always prefer eating to drinking.
Together with Cafe Fables and A Thousand Tales (vintage furniture store), Bar Stories is a funky bar nestled within a shop house in Haji Lane. Apparently Cafe Fables operates in the day, and it transforms into Bar Stories when nightfall arrives.
I am impressed with Forty Hands Cafe. Despite its (ulu) location within a shop house in the Tiong Bahru area, the cafe has been doing very well since its opening.
However, I felt that the food was average. They are always crowded, though, especially for weekend brunch. Also, I didn’t fancy the narrow layout of the place. Having said that, 40 Hands Cafe is still one of the nicer cafes in Singapore.

I first heard of Kki Cafe at Ann Siang Hill from a friend, and then another friend mentioned it too. I was about to visit Kki, but suddenly, all the media and food blogs in Singapore started to write about it. I am not sure about you, but I am not one who will follow the crowd, so I decided to wait for the hype to die down.
Finally, my chance to visit Kki Patisserie came. After having dim sum at Majestic Restaurant, my friends wanted some cakes for desserts, so we dropped by Kki Cafe. Given that there are so many new dessert places in Singapore, is Kki Cafe worth the trip?
A few weeks ago, I received an email from a reader, telling me about Master Crab Seafood Restaurant, a cze char place in Ghim Moh near De Burg burgers. The title of her email was: “best crabs in Singapore“. I think that pretty much sums it up.
Located in the lush Dempsy Hill area, The Prime Society is a steak restaurant in Singapore that specialises in prime quality meats. With its indoor and alfresco dining, the restaurant can easily accommodate up to 150 guests, and they also have a bar where you can enjoy your pre-dinner drinks.
Previously from Flutes at the Fort restaurant, Chef Rollinson took over The Prime Society’s kitchen earlier this year and he was quick to make his mark on the menu. We were at The Prime Society to try his new set lunch menu ($28++ for 2 courses, $33++ for 3 courses).
Sunshine Plaza is a nice place to go if you are looking for cheap and good food near Orchard. From Japanese Food to Dim Sum, Wanton Mee and Thai Food, there are so many options to choose from.
Thai Gold Food (formerly known as Sbey Sbey Thai Food) at Sunshine Plaza, is one of those places that serve affordable Thai Food. We were there for lunch last week, and it was a tough decision between Thai Gold Food and Aroy-Dee Thai Restaurant. We eventually ate at Thai Gold Food, but I went back to Aroy-Dee two days later (that’s another story for next week).
