At the ground floor of Link Hotel in Tiong Bahru, is Blue Garden Korean BBQ Restaurant. It currently occupies the space which was used by the now-defunct Persimmon Restaurant. Much of the interior remains intact: the black and white tiled floor, and the kopitiam-style furniture.

Korean food lovers will be happy to know that Blue Garden restaurant offers Korean BBQ buffet during lunch ($19.90) and dinner ($26.90).

Like Holland Village, Serangoon Gardens is a popular dining cluster in Singapore. Beyond the many restaurants and cafes there, the estate has two popular Food Centre: Chomp Chomp Hawker Centre and Serangoon Gardens Market & Food Centre.

I brought my overseas friends there and I realised that eating in Hawker Centres can be quite a daunting experience for visitors. It is easy for us as we are familiar with the Hawker Food. But overseas visitors usually do not know what to eat, and which stalls to order from.

Within the edgy New Majestic Hotel is The Majestic, a modern restaurant with a causal yet classy vibe. The boutique hotel is located in Singapore’s historic Chinatown, a 5-minute walk from Outram Park MRT Station.

Majestic Restaurant is known for their Cantonese cuisine and it has been around since 2006. Chef Yong Bing Ngen (who also runs Jing Restaurant at One Fullerton) is no stranger in the Singapore Food scene. Previously from Doc Cheng’s and Hai Tien Lo, he led Majestic Restaurant to clinch the Asian Restaurant of the Year title during the WGS 2010.

“Brad, my friends are throwing a Poolside Cake Party. Wanna come?”

Sometimes, we need to do crazy things to stay sane. Like eating 20 whole cakes at one go… The Cake Party is kind of like a mini competition. Everyone brought their best cakes, or rather, what they think is the best cake in Singapore. We got a good mix of cakes from Hotel Delis, to Patisseries, Bakeries and Cake Shops in Singapore.

It was really fun when everyone arrived with their cakes, we were like kids being locked up in Disneyland. Just imagine the excitement as we lined up the cakes on the table. It was cake, cake, cake, cake, cake, and more cakes for the whole night.

The question on everyone’s mind: which is the Best Cake in Singapore?
