If you were at the Orchard area last weekend, you would have spotted nydc’s ‘Mini Cafe’ along the streets. To celebrate its new menu launch, the good people from the New York Dessert Cafe set up a ‘Mini Cafe’ where friends, couples and young families can have a little fun, share nydc’s joy while snapping photos and stand a chance to win attractive prizes when they participate in nydc’s Instagram Contest. After snapping some photos at the ‘Mini Cafe’, 3 lucky winners joined me at nydc’s Wheelock outlet to sample some of the dishes from its new menu which now offers over 30 dessert items, 20 hot food items, four kids’ meals and 40 beverages. What makes nydc a place to return again and again is surely the variety on its menu. With so many gorgeous desserts and tantalising savoury food to choose from, there is always something for everyone.

NamNam Noodle Bar, a relatively new dining concept by the Les Amis Group, features iconic street favourites of Vietnam. It is not uncommon to see long queues at its two branches at Raffles City and Wheelock during meal times.

The idea of the noodle bar is simple, but very clever. I have always lamented that Singapore lacks good Vietnamese eateries, and NamNam managed to fill a gap in the market at the right time.

Krispy Kreme Singapore to open at Tangs in October

Krispy Kreme Singapore

Krispy Kreme, the famous American doughnut franchise, will be opening in Singapore at Tangs Orchard Basement 1 in October 2013. This is great news for fans of Krispy Kreme who have waited so long for the original glazed doughnuts to come to Singapore. I am glad that we no longer need to carry boxes of Krispy Kreme doughnuts back from overseas. 2013 is turning out to be a great year for the local food scene. I certainly look forward to the arrival of more brands in the near future.

Naughty Nuri’s Warung Best Pork Ribs Bali

Barbecued pork ribs are one of my all-time favourite food. To me, the perfect BBQ pork ribs are not only fork-tender, but they must also be succulent and slightly charred on the outside. Coated with an addictive BBQ sauce, they are unbeatable!

The pork ribs from Naughty Nuri’s Warung belong to this category. I am going out on a limb to say that their pork ribs are life-changing, and they are definitely one of the best that I have ever had. The pork ribs are so good that you would lick your fingers and plate clean. Trust me, you will see BBQ pork ribs in a very different light after trying the ones from Naughty Nuri’s Warung.

Wicked ribs and brutal cocktails. Enough said. This is a place that you must not miss in Bali.

nydc is a favourite haunt for friends to catch up over desserts and drinks, and I am sure many of you have tried their famous mudpies and cheesecakes. nydc has introduced a new menu featuring a strong emphasis on desserts, and we have a wonderful news to share with all of you.

Look forward to the exclusive nydc Mini Cafe along the streets of Singapore where you can experience the fun environment with free sampling of their popular cakes. The cafe will be taking place at Holland Village (in front of nydc outlet) on 26 & 27 July 3pm – 9pm, and at Orchard Road along Takashimaya to Orchard Ion on 3 & 4 August 12pm – 6pm.

I will be at the Mini Cafe next weekend, and 3 lucky winners get to join me for a food tasting of nydc’s new menu at the Mini Cafe at Orchard Road next Saturday on 3 August 1pm.

All you have to do is to leave a comment to tell us what the emphasis of nydc’s new menu is. Contest ends 30 July 12noon, and we will be contacting you via email to let you know more details about the food tasting.
