Celebrate with Grand Park City Hall’s ‘Santa’s Fruity Christmas’

GPCH Xmas 2015

Nothing makes December more exciting than themed festive dishes, especially when a buffet spread is carefully planned for and intricately prepared – just like this year’s festive buffet offerings from Indulge at Park, Grand Park City Hall. The theme of ‘Santa’s Fruity Christmas’ was coined by Executive Chef Eric Ong as he infuses intense flavours of various citrus fruits into his festive dishes.

These dishes range from Orange-Glazed Pork Ribs to Smoke Orange Oil Scented Apricot Crust Roasted Rack of Lamb. The incorporation of citrus fruits into the dishes truly adds a touch of Yuletide magic.

Here are some other dishes you can expect from the ‘Santa’s Fruity Christmas’ buffet spread and other mainstay signature dishes that you have to try at Grand Park City Hall this festive season!

Smoothie House – Popular Taipei Snowflake Ice Opens In Singapore & 1-For-1 Till 31 Dec

Smoothie House

If you have been to Taipei, you would probably be familiar Smoothie House, one of Taiwan’s most popular and bestselling shaved ice stores that sits along Yong Kang Street.

Now,  now. Smoothie House is finally in Singapore and we cannot be more excited to celebrate their opening. They are currently at only two locations, Paya Lebar Square and One Raffles Place (both together with Greendot Fast Casual), but come 2016, Smoothie House will be branching out to more locations island-wide.

Mango Shaved Ice

The daily snaking queues over at Taipei is gonna bother us no more, for we now have Smoothie House serving the same bowls of goodness here in sunny Singapore. Smoothie House in Singapore imports the blocks of ice directly from Taiwan, and you can be sure that the quality and taste is far from being compromised on.

Also, readers of ladyironchef will enjoy a 1-for-1 promotion on Snowflake Ice at Smoothie House (Paya Lebar Square) from now till 31 December 2015 when you flash this post! More details at the end of this post.

Hyde & Co.’s New Dinner Menu – Nasi Lemak Risotto, Beef Cheek Rendang & 50% OFF Mains

Hyde Co Dinner

Hyde & Co. has long been one of our favourite minimalist cafe hang-outs in Singapore. Our love for this cafe stems from the fact that it reminds us strongly of quaint English cafes in London, similarly exuding a comforting and cosy atmosphere.

Imagine our excitement when we found out that Hyde & Co. will serve a new dinner menu from Wednesdays to Saturdays, from 6.30pm to 10.30pm! We could not be happier as we had a great time with the mains we had here previously. This festive season, Hyde & Co. will also be offering several value-for-money Christmas set dinner menus (which starts at S$68 nett for two).

Hyde & Co Cafe

Readers of Ladyironchef will receive 50% off your second main course (from the regular dinner menu) on Wednesdays and Thursdays until 31 January 2016 when you flash this post. Reservations are required to redeem this promotion.

7 Best Cold Brew Coffees in Singapore – The New ‘It’ Drink

Dutch Colony Cold Brew 2

Cold brew coffee is the new ‘It‘ drink. Trust us when we say that we are onboard the Cold Brew Express as well. Cold brew coffee is made by slow extraction of coffee using only cool (not hot or warm) water over a long period of time, averaging 2 to 24 hours (usually).

This process intensifies the flavour of the coffee beans used. Because of this, many baristas choose to use a light roast coffee as opposed to a dark or full roast, as the latter can be very bitter once the whole cold brewing process is done.

Most of the baristas we talked to from these cafes also told us that they prefer using a single origin instead of a blend for the same reason. Here are 7 Best Cold Brew Coffees in Singapore that are a cut above the rest.
