The Butchers Club Hong Kong

The Butchers Club

When we were in Hong Kong in November last year, we had the pleasure of having a dinner at a popup restaurant by The Butchers Club, a butchery, home catering and private kitchen which specialises in dry aging beef. The Steak Rebellion – the name of their popup event – is one of the most interesting dining experiences we have been to.

The Fullerton Bay Hotel Singapore

Fullerton Bay Hotel

What attributes to a pleasant hotel stay? The lush interior and the oh-so-comfy bed? The in-house fragrance and the overall cleanliness? Personalised and impeccable service? The view, or the F&B options? The proximity to the main areas of Singapore?

Whatever you are looking for, The Fullerton Bay Hotel probably has them all covered. We all have our favourite brands, and hotels are no exception. The Fullerton brand is in our list, and when we were invited for a one-night stay at one of the best hotels in Singapore, it was with much delight and excitement that we packed our bags and checked in to the gorgeous 99-room property that is perched atop the waters of the Marina Bay area. Needless to say, the view is a stunning one – a panoramic one that overlooks the beautiful skyline of Singapore, including Esplanade, the Floating Platform and the iconic Marina Bay Sands.

The Westin Hotel Tokyo

Westin Tokyo

Most travellers to Tokyo usually choose to stay in popular neighbourhoods – like Shinjuku, Shibuya, Harajuku, Roppongi, or Ginza – as it is easier to explore the areas. The only trade-off is the very small and cramped rooms that most hotels in the main districts have. And we explored farther out to the Ebisu area, and fell in love with The Westin Hotel Tokyo – one of the most established hotels in the city, combining refined European decor with ample space in the heart of Tokyo.

Tuxedo Patisserie

The next time you are in town and need a venue for meeting your clients, or simply want a nice and quiet spot for coffee and pastries, Tuxedo Cafe & Patisserie at Carlton Hotel Singapore is the place to head to.

Tuxedo Cafe offers an enticing Express Set Lunch Special from 11am – 3pm daily. It includes a bowl of soup or salad, sandwich, and a cup of gourmet coffee or tea. At S$15.80, it is a deal to score for those who are looking for a good lunch without busting your budget.

Being a patisserie, the focus at Tuxedo is its array of freshly baked bread and pastries. Under the lead of Chief Baker Andrew Loong, the award-winning Carlton pastry team is constantly coming up with new creations to wow the crowd with its repertoire.

Other than the classic items like French Croissants, Pain au Chocolat, German Rye Sour Bread, Tuxedo has a whole range of bread such as Baguette, Walnut Bread and Semi-dried Tomatoes & Basil Baguette. The desserts, too, are to die for. Raspberry Chocolate Cake, Strawberry Cheesecake, Hazelnut Crunchy Eclair, Red Velvet Cupcake – just to name a few. The highlight for us is definitely their signature Lobster Pie, and the rich and luxurious Tuxedo Cake made with Valrhona chocolate.

The Entertainer App

Dining out is becoming increasingly expensive, and as of recent times, you have to spend at least S$30 for a decent meal. But what if I tell you that it is possible to enjoy an indulging meal at nice restaurants like B @ Rochester, The Pelican Seafood Bar & Grill, and The Disgruntled Chef at half the price?

I am always on the lookout for good dining deals and promotions, so when I found out about The Entertainer App, I knew I have to share it with all of you.

The Pelican

The Entertainer has just launched in Singapore and it offers an array of ‘buy one, get one free’ offers to the best restaurants, casual dining, swanky bars, popular nightspots, attractions, spas, and even hotel stays in Singapore. It is not just a must-have for locals, but also for visitors to Singapore. And the cherry on top? The Entertainer App http://www.theentertainerme.com/singapore/ is free!

This is one app that no one should miss out on, because it opens doors to the best deals in town. Even with the most common gripe about the increased cost of living, we should still and can pamper ourselves with indulgences like these, because when you have a one-for-one deal so attractive, you can wine and dine – minus the guilt and busting your weekly budgets.
