4 Halal Grocers In Singapore For Fuss-Free Halal Supplies

Halal Grocers Cover

Saunter around and you would see NTUC, Cold Storage, Giant and Sheng Siong scattered all around the island, easily at one’s disposal. Singapore houses an extensive range of supermarkets that offer international products, fresh organic produce and basically anything under the sun, in the case of 24/7 Mustafa Centre.

These supermarkets do provide a decent selection of halal products that cater to the expansive Muslim market. However, most of the time, Muslims here are more tempted to cross the Causeway for the dizzying array of halal products.

The prevalence of halal grocers in Singapore is still relatively unknown and most consumers get their recommendations merely through word of mouth. These hidden gems could definitely use a lot more publicity so more can source locally for their halal butchered meat, deli supplies, cooking essentials and frozen food stocks.

With the demand for halal goods rising exponentially over the years, there is no better time to discover these halal grocers than now. Here Are 4 Halal Grocers In Singapore For Fuss-Free Halal Supplies.

Masizzim – New Korean Lunch Sets Including Bibimbap & Bulgogi That Start From S$10.90

MASIZZIM'S AFFORDABLE KOREAN LUNCH SETS

The hype for Korean food never seemed to die down after the K-wave hit our shores just a few years back. Even untill today, people’s love for Korean music, culture, and of course, food continues strong.

From the same team behind many popular Japanese & Korean dining concepts in Singapore such as Chir Chir, Sora Boru, Nipong Naepong and NY Night Market, Masizzim is a Korean casual restaurant hailing all the way from South Korea that specialises in hearty and wholesome stews. If you understand Korean, you’d also realise that their name itself is a wordplay on the words ‘masi’ (delicious) and ‘jjim’ (stew).

To add a little diversity to their menu, Masizzim has rolled out a brand new lunch set menu that will be available on weekdays from 11am to 2pm (excluding public holidays) at both their 313 Somerset and Westgate outlets. Diners can look forward to an exciting lineup which includes popular Korean dishes such as bibimbap, kimchi fried rice and bulgogi!

Prices start from a very wallet-friendly S$10.90++ and each lunch set entails a main, a bowl of seaweed soup as well as two pieces of Korean pancakes.

Pondtip Pratunam — Addictively Good Duck Rice In The Heart Of Pratunam

PONDTIP PRATUNAM

While we love Singapore’s duck rice, we admittedly prefer Bangkok’s duck rice a tad bit more. We don’t know how they do it but most of the ducks that we have tried here have turned out more succulent and tender as compared to the ones that we have had in Singapore.

While there aren’t as many stalls in Bangkok that sell duck rice as there are that sell chicken rice, we know a handful of good ones to recommend to you. One of them would be Pondtip Pratunam, a humble stall that sells an array of scrumptious Thai food which includes duck noodles and rice.

The legendary Ichiran is finally coming to Singapore! From 3 to 20 October 2019, Ichiran will be having a pop-up in Singapore at Takashimaya Square as part of the third edition of annual ramen festival Ramen Revolution at the Japan Food Matsuri event.

If you’ve ever been to Japan, you’ll know that ramen is a must-try item; leaving Japan without slurping down a bowl of this goodness is an absolute crime! There are a plethora of ramen shops scattered across Japan but one of the more famous brands that is high up on everyone’s list is the well-loved Ichiran.

Ichiran has been widely accepted as the god of tonkotsu ramen and they definitely set a high benchmark for a classic bowl of ramen. We are so damn excited that Ichiran Ramen is finally having a pop-up in Singapore (and hopefully a permanent shop next?!). That means that you no longer have to book a plane ticket to Japan just to satisfy your cravings for a bowl of the best ramen in the world.

Our team joined the queue at 10am during the opening on 3 October 2019 and we waited for almost 2 hours for our Ichiran Ramen! The queue is expected to get even longer, so get there early if you are planning to try it.
