For those who missed the Obolo dessert outing, here’s another for you guys, LIC is having the next food outing event at Persimmon at Dec 6, Saturday lunch 11.30am! From the owners of Epicurious, Persimmon serves modern Singaporean cuisine, in a swanky kopitiam-style restaurant. Truly an East-meet-West inspiration. The usual 3 course set lunch menu is $28, but LIC had work out a multi course sampling size menu.
I know Facebook’s a big thing nowadays, but i didn’t really use it much only until recently. I’ve created a group for ladyironchef.com, so if you are on facebook, why not joined us there?
Make friends with like-minded people who are all into food, and it’s an additional channel for me to spread the words on any upcoming events on LIC. Do spread the words around, and let your friends know too!

Now back to business, ladyironchef is again, proud to tell you that my food outing event is here again! I know i’ve mentioned after my last outing at Tetsu that i’ll do another one during August, but it had been a few hectic months for me until now. So sorry for the delay!

October has been a long and difficult month for me, and this is the last crucial stage. After this, November beckons, and it’ll be a new beginning. I’ll like to apologise for the food outing events which i had mentioned, but did not materalised because of time constraint.
There will be LIC events coming up in November, food and dessert outings, details will be out soon, so do stay tune for it. Another thing which excites me will be learning to bake. That will also have to wait until November. Hope you guys eat well, and if there’s any enquiries or feedback, do leave a comment or send a email to [email protected]

The Chinese celebrated festival is here again, it is this time of the year where we can see restaurants, hotels, bakeries busy promoting and selling their moon cakes. And this year we have seen more new varieties entering the market, this can only be good news to us.

The afterthoughts of Tetsu Food Event
First of all, i know this may sounds naggy and even corny, but i will like to thank all of you for coming to LIC food event @ Tetsu, for without you guys the event will not be complete or possible.
Preparing for a food event althought it might seems to be quite an easy task, but it isn’t because you need to coordinate everybody time, find a suitable place, with a reasonable price tag, and furthermore the place can’t be that ‘ulu’ if not nobody will want to go.
All in all it took me a good 2-3 weeks to prepare for this outing, i started the discussions with Pris on behalf of Tetsu three weeks ago, after we finalise everything, i posted up the details 2 weeks ago. I must admit that initially i were quite worried about the turnout rate because this is on a weekday, a tuesday no less, and the price is slightly higher.
The response was overwhelming, within the first week on putting up the notice, i got about close to 40 folks who confirmed their attendance for this one. with another 20 odds confirming on the second week. All in all there were about 60+ people who signal their intention for the outing, but due to some unforeseen circumstances, some couldn’t make it last min, but no worries we will see you the next time round!
In the end, we have a total of 51 people including myself for the event, which is really an amazing figure given its only LIC second time organising a food event, and its on a tuesday where people have to work or study.
