Tino’s Pizza Cafe’s durian pizza is the latest food obsession in Singapore you need to know.
Fans of durian will understand our feelings of pure ecstasy when we found out that Tino’s Pizza Cafe is offering two durian pizza flavours—D24 & Mao Shan Wang Pizzas. While durian desserts are common in Singapore, this is the first we have heard of durian pizzas.
Marketing gimmick or not, we knew we had to try the Mao Shan Wang pizza for ourselves because we simply cannot pass this up. If you love the King of Fruits as much as we do, carry on reading to find out what we think!
Truth be told, we felt a little sceptical about our Mao Shan Wang pizza (S$21.90++) before trying it because we could not imagine how the combination of savoury cheese and sweet durian fruit will turn out. However, we were pleasantly surprised that the two contrasting flavours did not clash and instead, complement well together.
We recommend sharing the durian pizza in a group as the taste can be rather overwhelming after two slices.
Besides the Mao Shan Wang, diners get to choose the D24 pizza which is slightly cheaper at S$16.90++.
Their Cafe Latte (S$4.90++) came with an adorable coffee art and packets of sugar at the side. The bitter tones of the coffee helped to balance out the sweetness of the durian pizza.
