Cat Cora needs no introduction. The only female Iron Chef in Singapore, co-host of Around the World in 80 Plates, celebrity chef Cat Cora is also behind Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora at S.E.A Aquarium – one of the world’s largest aquarium – which offers a spectacular under water dining experience.
While Cat Cora has been to Singapore several times for work, she hasn’t had the chance to interact with our beautiful people. And here’s why this coming June is going to be so exciting, because we are partnering Resorts World Sentosa to play host to the renowned chef!
In conjunction with Father’s Day, one of you will win the opportunity of a lifetime to hang out with Cat Cora and to bring along your father and two family members to enjoy the newly launched 5-course seafood dinner (S$168++/pax) at Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora on 19 June 2015.
And to reward you further, Cat Cora will personally whip up a dish with Papa’s favourite fruit for your dinner at the stunning restaurant within the S.E.A Aquarium.! It will be an experience like no other, we promise.

Hi, my dad’s favourite fruit is DURIAN ! It will be an eyeopening for me and my family to see how chef cat cora using our local king’s of fruit durian to make a unique and creative dish for us. And it’s also a great opportunity to see chef cat cora in person and have the honor to taste her foods.
Hi Brad! Firstly, thanks for informing me to comment here instead of your instagram post!
My dad’s favourite fruit is DURIAN! Okay, so the reason behind why my family want to meet Cat Cora is as below. I wanted to treat my family to at least visit SEA Aquarium but I have no money! ><
So I hope to win this contest to celebrate Father's Day this year! That'll be the best present for this Father's Day (I hope) to appreciate my dad's efforts in raising the family of 4! Lastly, my family have never eaten anything prepared by celebrity chefs and I do hope to have a taste of Cat Cory's signature dishes!
Thanks for the contest LadyIronChef! (:
Jolene
My dad loves avocados! He would buy avocados from the market, wrap them up in newspapers to quicken the ripening process then cut them in halves when they are ripe to eat them with a spoon. He especially loves them cold.. So he would refrigerate them for a few hours before eating them!
One of Cat Cora’s greatest cooking influences is her grandmother & there’s something about “home-cooked meals” that is very special to my family. We love it when dad has the time to cook for us all.. but most of the time we can only eat out. This Father’s Day, I hope my dad (and my family) can enjoy this special feast that comes with a touch of a “home”!
Dad’s favourite fruit is papaya. I want to win this because we’ve never been to RWS, nor , frankly, heard of ,let alone met, Cat Cora. Now I know who she is, I would love the honor of trying a custom made dish with papaya! It would be an honor to meet Singapore’s only female Iron Chef.
Mt daddy’s favourite fruits are durian and longan. He used to cook and loves to cook but now he stops. Working and earning a living made him forgo what he likes. I hope he can enjoy the delicacies cook by Chef Cat Cora and enjoy the view in SEA aquarium. For once, he can rest and enjoy what he gave up for us.
My dad used to love bananas until he has diabetes. He works almost 365 days a year , 12 hours per day at the age of 67. Our family do not get a lot of bonding time together , only once a year during Chinese New Year. Hence , I would love to bring my dad to Cat Cora and spend some family bonding time. Im very sure it will be a good surprise for him.
Dad’s favourite fruit is Pineapple!
Is our family’s honoured to meet Chef Cat Cora with her superb exquisite cuisines and enjoy our
first dining experience in world largest oceanarium with stunning views of deep-sea wildlife.
It definitely one of our memorable & unique “Father’s Day Celebration” in life!
Thank you Chef Cora & Ocean Restaurant, S.E.A. Aquarium at Resorts World Sentosa Singapore !
My dad’s favourite fruit is Orange. Why dad likes oranges so much is because when dad was young, family is poor and can only afford to eat oranges but also only during Chinese New Year period so from that moment onwards,it became dad’s favourite. We would like to meet Cat Cora because we heard friends talking about the delicious and unique dishes prepared by this top Chef, and we would like to hear from her how she learns how to whip up all the delicious dishes.
My dad’s favourite fruits are durian and mango.
My dad used to be a chef in a hotel in Singapore. He graduated from shatec when he was in his youth. But due to the nature of a chef job and the fact he has 3 kids to look after. He gave up being a chef and is now driving a taxi. He still makes it a point to cook dinner for us daily. His passion for cooking is still alive just that the working hours of a chef isn’t something he can commit to. He just give so much to our family that now I hope I can reward him with a dinning experience by a world famous chef. He refuse to let us spend on any expensive meals for him and I hope winning this will give him no reason to reject something that his kids always wanted to do for him.
My dad’s favourite fruit is fragrant pear from Xinjiang region of Western China. My dad has always been busy with his work till late night and I seldom spend time with him. My family and I also do not celebrate Father’s Day or his birthdays as he is often overseas. With a great opportunity this time round, my family wishes that we could meet, savor and indulge in the seafood dinner as well as the fruit dish specially prepared by Chef Cat Cora. I humbly wish to be picked by ladyironchef and surprise my dad with this extraordinary Father’s Day dinner where we would be able to sit down, spend time and have a nice meal together.
My daddy favourite fruit is durian. I am now 17 years old and still a student. I have never think of celebrate either father day or mother day because it is costly to invite them, and finallt they will paid for the bill. If I have a chance to win I will be proud to announce the treat is on me.
Hi Brad! Firstly, thanks so much for doing this giveaway; I really appreciate this chance for a special family to have dinner at Cat Cora’s Ocean restaurant. I remember meeting you and Melody at the 8 Days Eat event at Raffles City last year, where you stood on top of chairs to get a good shot of the pizzas at Marche :p My boyfriend and I were so impressed that you guys were so humble, sharing and so hardworking! You guys are genuinely nice people and we are so happy for your new blog relaunch and your success thus far. We hope very much to meet you again!
To answer the questions, my dad’s favourite fruit is the durian. We used to drive to specific shops at Geylang just to eat the best variety and even went to JB over the weekends for durian tasting. It would be interesting to see what Cat comes up with for dinner using this interesting fruit!
In a nutshell, we would love to meet Cat Cora because she shares similar values to us when it comes to cooking, food education and loving eating as a whole.
In her interviews, Cat always talks about keeping food classy and using whole foods to make simple meals stand out. She always stresses that you don’t have to use expensive ingredients for your dishes to be phenomenal. She is generous with her tips on making home cooking exceptional with the right presentation, quality and finesse. She uses quality herbs and good olive oil a lot, which is easily accessible to everyone.
When I read about Cat’s Master class at RWS last May, I was really fascinated that she kept true to her word and used modest and common ingredients like salmon, lemon, apples, olive oil for both her dishes. She proves again that food is about quality, which is what we value as well. We love that she encourages people to experiment more, because ‘recipes are just guides.’
What I like about Cat is that she keeps a very good balance of enjoying her sweet treats and desserts (her famous ice cream and bacon) while also eating the right kinds of food (sustainable seafood, for example). She is a great example of someone who truly appreciates food and knows how to enjoy them responsibly.
Last but not the least, Cat also founded the Chefs For Humanity, which is a group of chefs and culinary professionals who got together to raise funds for nutritional education and hunger issues around the world. Personally, I value philanthropy a lot and even more so when it comes to food education and nutrition. I strongly believe that people should be more aware of what they are eating, and to enjoy food fully as intended. It would be such an honour to meet Cat Cora. We share the same views on many things and its great to know that she will be here in sunny Singapore. Have a very pleasant stay here, Cat!
We spent a good 10 minutes thinking about what’s his favorite fruit. This question really tests how well one understand his/her dad! Luckily for me, it’s not that I don’t understand him but he just doesn’t have any particular fruit that’s his favorite (Phew!). After 10mins, we gathered it’s pineapple & banana!
I love to be able to bring my dad and family to meet Cat Cora! My dad is always working away from home, alone in Europe. It’s quite a rare opportunity that he will probably be in town for this year Father’s Day and I hope to be able to surprise him! It be great to have him try out something new, and thank him for being such a great dad to us!
My Dad’s favourite food is the Durian. I vaguely remember watching some cooking shows that featured Asian fruits ingredients to the participants as their mystery box challenge. I have seen fruits such as Passionfruit & starfruits! Ever since that time, I have often wondered about how people would be able to whip up a dish, in particular, the appetizer & maincourse with durians. Durian, also known as the king of all fruits, are no strangers to us Asians. However, I would really like to see how Cat Cora would be able to surprise us by incorporating durians into our food. Durians are actually widely used in desserts in Singapore; Shaved Ice Durian, Durian puffs, Durian Cakes to name a few. I am beyond elated & excited about being impressed by Cat Cora & her culinary skills.
As my father was born in the 1960s, he always had a strong connection to the chinese heritage & tradition. That made him develop a strong attachment towards chinese cuisine. Everytime we go out, my dad would always prefer to have chinese food. I really hope through this experience, my dad would be able to appreciate the western cuisine slightly more. Perhaps a western-chinese fusion cuisine would be able to help change his mind about the western world and its cuisine.
Sad to say, i am working on the 21st, the actual Father’s Day. My dad is the most amazing person on this earth, I hope I will be given this chance to surprise him.

My father’s favourite fruit is durian as it’s the King of fruits but due to health issues, he has to cut down on the consumption. I’ll like to bring my parents there to celebrate Father’s Day as it happens to be his 70th birthday this year. My dad hasn’t been to RWS and it’ll definitely be a memorable evening to be able to dine in this peaceful and magical environment while admiring the fishes. My dad enjoys cooking and he’ll love to find out from Cat Cora on her culinary secrets! Will also like to thank him for working so hard to support this family so that I’ve the ability to earn a livelihood!:)) Thanks RWS & ladyironchef for this giveaway!:D Happy Father’s Day!
My dad’s favourite fruit is Durian! He never gets enough of eating it! The reason why my family wants to meet Cat Cora because my Dad loves to eat but we usually dont have the luxury to enjoy high-end delicacies. I hope this can be a very good Father’s day gift for him
Thank you Cat Cora & Ladyironchef
My father’s favourite fruit is grapes. We want to meet Chef Cat Cora because my newly retired dad just fell in love with whipping western food and he was searching for her programs to learn from her!
My father likes peaches. He loves to cook and make special dishes for us. He is visiting us this Father’s Day, so a dinner with Cat Cora would be a once-in-a-lifetime experience to share as a family and would also be a fantastic treat for the man that is so special to us.
AVOCADO is my daddy’s favourite fruit among all.
Not only me, but my parents & sister’s dream to dine in such an amazing & spectacular aquarium restaurant. Especially our honour to meet up with beautiful CHEF CAT CORA who personally whip up a dish with daddy’s favourite avocado for the dinner.
My dearest daddy loves all kinds of fruit, and he will just eat everything! But his most favourite fruit is definitely the Guava! Because he knows Guava has rich in Vitamin C & Dietary Fiber, and is more nutritious as other fruits! My family wish to be able to meet Cat Cora because we are deeply amused and interested in her cooking skills, and the unique way of her cooking just really tempts us to get to know her & a taste of her awesome food. Well, we don’t really celebrate such occasion before, and i hope, this time, there will be such opportunities for us to get up close to Cat Cora, and be able to dine in a highly cool ambience with the SEA creatures, because we have not being to SEA Aquarium, and this could be a chance for us as a whole family to bond together, and to create a stronger love bewteen one another. Cat Cora is such an inspiration person to our family, and we hope to get to try her food, and make our dream come true. (:
Thank you for this wonderful Contest, that gave me an opportunities !
My dad loves honeydews (although it’s kinda too sweet for me). Whenever we have breakfast buffet during a vacation, he would always take extra just so that I can have some.
I believe he deserves this opportunity because he’s a huge, huge foodie. We often travel to Malaysia to sightsee and take a break as a family. My dad would always research on the best food places available at the location he is eyeing. That’s how I managed to eat the best Malay food like Asam Pedas and Ikan Bakar. It even gets me drooling thinking of them!
He loves watching food documentaries (and even cooking shows!) on television. On the month of Ramadhan when Muslims fast, there is a cooking show at 6.30pm, and we would always watch it together . I love it, because I get to bond with him after he gets home from work and at the same time, waiting to break fast. It’s the only time we get to talk properly about our day, because honestly, he’s always busy with work.
I really hope this is enough of an explanation for you to pick Ayah, because I’d appreciate it so much. And he’d be the happiest man alive.
Ps. He loves aquariums too! He bought tickets for the family that includes the USS + Sea Aquarium package about 2 years ago. Unfortunately we didn’t had time to look around the aquarium because my brother and I spent too much time at the roller coasters. Eeks. I hope this can make up for it!
My dad’s favourite fruit has got to be the king of fruits, DURIAN!
Last year, my dad got stroke. Now he couldn’t speak properly and he couldn’t eat solid food. He can’t walk now too. I would like him to experience this once in a lifetime dining experience to let him know that although he cannot walk, he still can go to nice places. Although he can’t eat solid food, I know chef cat cora will whip up something delicious for my dad. Not only my dad, I would like my mum to relax and dine as she is always taking care of my dad.
it has to be durian for sure…my dad can’t cook even though he always say he can but he loves to watch live cooking shows like masterchef and iron chef …he will be thrilled to meet one of the iron chef! Cat Cora! And have a wonderful meal this Father’s Day !
My dad loves soursop! He always buy soursop for the family and we do eat. However none of us are like him. This year my dad is 70th years old and has never stop working or travel in his lifetime. We are not rich hence he still has to work to support himself. Hope I could win and bring him enjoy a good meal and an memorable night.
Hi, my dad just love curry so much, sometimes he just can’t resist it. He would like to try new dishes rather than having the same dishes in the coffee shops everyday. And he have been working hard for our family members . Also most of the time we’re all busy with our work schedule and studies, which we don’t have the time to gather by keeping our family bonding. so I would like to take this opportunity for my dad to experience and also dinner with Cat Cora at the same time. And I hope this will wonderful Father’s Day gift for him.
And thanks Ladyironchef for this contest
Edward
My dad loves all kinds of fruits but his favourite fruit would be mangoes! He loves them because they are juicy, not to mention, incredibly delicious and full of vitamins and anti-oxidants!
My family would love to meet Cat Cora as this is an extremely rare opportunity to meet her and it’d truly be an honour to meet the lady herself! Thank you for this amazing giveaway and for this opportunity to celebrate a memorable and unforgettable father’s day with my parents!
My dad’s favourite fruit would be bananas. We have not met a celebrity chef before and this would be a great opportunity to do so! Great dishes whipped up by Cat Cora and a unique dining experience at the S.E.A Aquarium. Certainly a memorable experience to have with my dad and family.
My late dad’s favourite fruit is the king of fruits, Durian! It used to be a durian feast every year on his birthday before his passing. Whenever we see durians we will missed him and the joy we had on his birthday.
I heard so much about the raves of Cat Cora ‘ s specialty and I’m looking forward to get tips from her on improving my culinary skills!! Wonderful indeed!

Because it is king of the fruit in singapore and also for my dad.
We like to meet cat core because of her wonderful cooking skills hope she will cook a surprise dishes for my dad during father’s Day and also his advance birthday celebration on 20 of June.
My dad will have his sunkist 4018 naval orange without fail every day. However I do not think by having it everyday makes it his favourite fruit. Throughout the years I notice his excitement and sparkle in his eyes when he finds anything related to buah long long (or ampula). So through my eyes, I view buah long long as his favourite fruit! (he will make everyone he is with at that moment try it too).
I think deep down it is his favourite fruit as it brings with it fond memories from his childhood days. Also back when he was a young adult, he loved to go out to sea, for fishing, snorkeling and just being one with the sea and it’s inhabitants. It would be just so perfect if I could win this and treat my dad (along with my mum and husband) to a journey down memory lane with his 2 favs this father’s day! Oh actually 3 favs, he loves his food too but being 61, his appetite isnt that great anymore so to him it’s quality over quantity, of which I think Cat Cova is able to exceed expectations!
I’m a dad. My favourite food is durian.
Because it is king of the fruit in singapore and also for my dad.
We like to meet Cat Core to see what special dish can she use on durian.
My 2 years old daughter would love to see the fishes

My father’s favourite fruit is durian. He always refuses our treats to go to restaurant for the past 39 fathers’ days , saying eating out is too expensive. For this year I hope he can make an exception if it is free! He works 365 days a year, breeding fish for a living. But to be surrounded by the ocean creatures will definitely be an awesome experience for someone who loves fish all his life. Btw, he has never been to Sentosa.
My Hero Dad favourite fruit is King of Fruits [ DURIAN ] ! He can just eat it with rice & at times have cravings [ like pregnant women ] , will purposely drive to buy to satisfy his cravings ….

Therefore , I deeply hope to win this to let him relax & enjoy on his special day !
* THANK YOU LADYIRONCHEF *
Hello my name is Joshua Phillips and my fathers is Rick Phillips his favorite fruit is pineapple. I remember when I was still at home I would cut up pineapple for him every night since he could not do it him self. My father has always given so .much to me even after his car accident he’s continued to give. I want to give back to him finally and as an aspiring chef I work 65 to 70 hours a week on the line so I never have time for family like I used to. Dinner with Cat Cora would be a way for me to truly give my dad the experience of a lifetime the experience that I feel he gave me. I love my father very much and for the very thing that keeps us apart (food) to bring us together would be amazing. You can’t see a smile through a phone but to see it in person would be a beautiful gift.
Hi, im james. My dad loves mangoes. My dad is a best dad anyone can have. He teaches my sis and i about life and its meaning. Since we dont have a caring mom, he has to shoulder responsibility as a mother. Dinner with cat cora will be a life tine experience for him as he always leads a simple and frugal livestyle.
My Selfless Dad favourite fruit is DURIAN! King of Fruits! In fact, my family enjoy eating durians very much.
My family want to meet Chef Cat Cora because she is a renowned celebrity chef and the first female Iron Chef in Singapore! She cooks light and healthy dishes using the freshest produce from around the region which is impressive.
Dinning at Ocean Restaurant located inside the S.E.A Aquarium is definitely a memorable and unforgettable water dinning experience! As I can imagine dinning with my family in a world’s largest oceanariums with impressive sea wildlife views from any angle.
The Most Selfless Man I know – My Dad. He is my role model, my friend, my supporter and my hero! My dad is a breadwinner and he works hard in his entire life, giving the best he can to the family. He encourages me with motivational messages and support me to give me the strength that I need!
I am looking forward to Win A Father’s Day Dinner with Chef Cat Cora at Ocean Resturant to let my family experience a never before water dinning experience and enjoy to the fullest on his special day!! <3
Thank you ladyironchef and Resorts World Sentosa!
My dad has a few favourite fruits! One of which is durian! He never fail to buy his favourite fruit back for the family even though he became weaker day by day. Papa left us last year but he is forever in our hearts.
He had always been my pillar of support, being there for me whenever i needed someone. I felt really guilty when I didnt do well in school but he was very calm and never raised his voice at me but gave me morale support.
Would love to win this and bring him along if he is still around as he is a homely person and dont fancy heading out for meals and prefer home-cooked meals. He may not be phsyically with us but always in our hearts. Still ‘celebrate’ his birth dates and fathers day as its not easy to erase off the memories of how he brought us up and contributed to the family. Wont be what I am today without his hardwork and supporting the family with the best of his abilities despite being down will illness for almost 20 years. Papa, I love you!
My dad loves to eat durian and he wants to meet her bcos she is not only beautiful, but also, she is one of the best chefs in the whole world, using only the freshest and best produce for her ingredients. It will be an honour for us to be able to meet her!
My papa’s favourite fruit is the King of fruits, durian. He never fails to bring home various types of durians for the family to share over dessert time. Meeting Cat Cora would be such an honourable experience for the family especially my papa who loves seafood, to interact and share insights on culinary. It would be the best Father’s day and advanced birthday gift for him, to witness pretty sealife while enjoying awesome food and family time.
My dad’s favorite fruit… has to be everything. He buys all kinds of fruit and makes sure that we eat them after dinner every night.
Although my dad passed away more than a year ago, I would wish to win this for my mother as I like to turn this day into a celebration for not a loss, but because she deserve it and in replacement of dad, all the more we ( my siblings and I ) should pamper and shower her with our love.
I do heard of Cat Cora, she was amazing. My first occurence with her was on channel 5 on one of the cooking shows which i believe was Masterchef. With her skills at work and the venue among the ocean, it will be the ultimate experience for her.
She had never went to the new sea aquarium let alone these super expensive fancy restaurants that I can only dream about affording one day when I get into the working world.
So I could only try, to win this for her.
DRAGON FRUIT is my dad’s favourite fruit!
My dad loves home cook meal, he home for dinner without failed for the past 30 years.
Daddy and all of us appreciate for the dinner personally done by Chef Cat Caro.
It definitely a memorable experience as Chef Cat Caro will be the 3rd ladies to cook for dad apart from grandma & mummy.
The most touching is we never expect to have the dining experience in such wonderful ocean view restaurant.
Hi my dad’s favourite fruit is strawberries. In fact the whole family loves them. We’d really love to meet Cat Cora because it’d be a once in a lifetime experience to partake of a dish cooked just for us by Cat Cora, surrounded by an aquarium and hopefully to meet Cat Cora and hear what her most enjoyable/amazing moment was during her Around the World in 80 Plates.
Hello there!
My father’s favourite fruit is the humble and simple longan/lychee. He is an easygoing man with simple needs, so he usually makes his favourite fruit drink out of canned fruits. He has been so supportive towards us and the family, never willing to spend much on himself but more on the people he love.
Hence, he has not had the luxury to experience dining at such a beautiful place with awesome food. I really want him to experience that.
I have not been able to express my appreciation for him and winning this and getting to meet the renowned chef and enjoy the wonderful ambience altogether would be a once in a lifetime experience. And my father totally deserves this on this special day!
My father-in-law’s favourite fruit: Banana. ( Daily fruit he eats)
We love to meet Cat Cora because we love Seafood! Heard so much her signature dish such as smoked eel.
