Wouldn’t it be great to take your daddy out for fathers day and have your meal cooked by a fantastic chef, The only female Iron Chef in Singapore !! love it
My dad’s favourite fruit is durian and i will be quite impressed with how cat cora can make a dish out of durian since it has a stronger taste than many other fruits. Definitely be an eye opener.
Have been hearing so much about this restaurant since it was opened but due to finance constraints we din had a chance to dine there. Since now there may be a chance to dine for father’s day dinner and to meet chef cat cora, its a 1 stone kill 2 birds opportunity. Chef cat cora has been such an inspiring person, have an entreprenuer mind at a young age and making it happen, restaurants after restaurants. Juggling to be a mum at the same time is definitely not easy, what’s more, she has 4 kids. I can’t even juggle well between work and family with just 1 kid. Perhaps can learn a skill or 2 from her ???? of course to be able to witness the 1st lady iron chef’s culinary skills would be an eye opener for us.
Hi brad! First thank you for such a great opportunity! My dad favourite fruit is none other than durian!
I will really want to bring him and my family members along to celebrate fathers’ day at ocean restaurant. My dad is forever busy at work even on weekends, he loves fishes and being able to dine ‘with the fishes’ sounds too awesome for him to turn down my dinner date with my dad!
Therefore I really hope to win this so that we can finally spend some quality time together as a family.
It’d be such a once in a life time opportunity if my father and I could win this! We’ve never been the kind to ever go to such fine restaurants to dine due to financial constraints, not to mention to have the only female iron chef to cook for us! P/S my father’s favourite fruit (and mine hehe) is durian!
My father’s favourite fruit is DURIAN!! Even though not many of us in the family like durian,he will still buys and filled the whole fridge with the smell of durians. You can see how much he loves durians and how important to him.
We would like to meet Cat Cora because the opportunity to meet a female celebrity chef is hard to come by. We would also like to taste the delicacies prepared by her and at the same time know more about her.
Lastly, i think to give my father a meal at RWS would be a once a life time experience thingy. Hahaha
my dad is a fruit fanatic, but of all, lychees are his (and our) favourite as we’d spam baskets of lychee during the season (i.e. now)! contrary to the common societal stereotypes, my dad is a great cook and we share a love for watching food channels. it’ll certainly be amazing if he could interact with a chef in real life. what a great break and novel experience from his hectic work life it would be!
My dad’s favourite fruit is durian. Whenever it’s the season for good durians, my dad will definitely be bringing home at least 5 durians for sure! I haven’t had the chance to bring my family to SEA Aquarium for an outing. Hence, this Fathers’ Day, I’d like to bring them there and also to have a taste of how it is like dining in an aquarium. Needless to say, it will be an absolute honour to meet The Chef behind it all. Being inquisitive like always, my dad and family would be delighted to know the inspiration behind this brilliant dining concept. Hope that we be granted this opportunity to explore with all our senses!
My father’s favorite fruit is watermelon as it is refreshing and cooling. My whole family has been a huge fans of the sea creatures – fish. It would really be an excellent opportunity to meet Cat Cora while dining at the ocean restaurant which offers a spectacular view. My family would like to meet Cat Cora as we are impressed with the worldwide recognition she has gained, and how great a chef, she is. We love watching her on the Food Network television show Iron Chef America and she has been a remarkable co-host of Around the World in 80 Plates on Bravo.
Hi there,
My father favourite fruit is durians, I will always remember he will always buy us durians whenever he sell a durian stall which sell good durians and will also teach me how to choose a good durians. I would like to win this as I had been to Ocean Restaurant by Cat Cora last year on my wedding anniversary and I simply loves the foods and I believe that my father will also loves it. He had never been to any fine dinning before and hope this time I can make this father’s day special for him.
Love Chantel
My daddy has no preference of fruit because perhaps he loves what we love. My favourite fruit is durian and watermelon. He loves it too!
He is always sacrificing so much for this family and i really hope that i could win this competition and bring him out to somewhere nice for Father’s day dinner. I’m still a student and can’t afford much so if I’ll be very thankful if I can win this.
I remember my dad saying that he love to go to the sea aquarium & I believe that this will be the best present I could ever give him this year!
Hi!! My father’s favourite fruits will be mango!! This year, I would like to take this chance to thank my dad for giving his best for the family.. be it housechores or work.. he will never have any complains.. have been neglecting him due to work and we hardly have a chance to get together to have a proper and nice dinner.. I think this is a perfect opportunity.
I believe majority of Singaporean dad loves durian and of cause mine too! I hope to bring my dad to dine in the ocean restaurant with Cat Cora and her speciality dish for the event as well as enjoy the meal while viewing the aquarium which he never visit before due to busy schedule
My father’s favourite fruit and mine is mango! The sweet yellow flesh is great for making ao many yummy desserts and just eaten on it’s own. We will love to meet Cat Cora, who came up with such an innovative menu for Ocean. Dining with the fishes is one experience that I will love to share with my parents.
Daddy’s favourite fruit is the Chiku. (isn’t Chiku the cutest word?) We want to meet Cat Cora to show her how quirky, crazy, fun and colorful a Singaporean father and daughter duo can be! (cos let’s face it, everyone already knows how insanely cool Cat is!)
Since he was young, my father’s favorite fruit is Coconut. My father was a street seller selling sweet crackers. The only thing that was able to help my father survive the bang was Coconut water. That is because, Coconut Water has a lot of nutritious vitamin and is a great body hydrator as well. It will be a stupendous opportunity for our family to be able to meet Chef Cat Cora because we are a family with a passion for food. We love cooking together every weekend. We really want to meet Chef Cat Cora because not only is she a great cook, but she is also a great mother as well. By meeting her, we hope to be able to talk about her journey and her tips from her precious one in a million life. Thank you!
My dad’s favourite food is seafood! And his favourite past time is looking for good dining places that serves great food. He’s enjoys watching cooking shows and get inspired by the food that is prepared and adapt into his cooking. He’s been a great dad, always ensuring an interesting breakfast every morning. It would be great if he could be inspired by iron chef cat cora and enjoy his time watching fishes swim by.
Hello there Brad, it is very hard to pick a favourite fruit for my dad. He loves so many fruits (just as he loves so many types of food) and he has had many exotic fruits. Passionfruit juices are his favourite, dragon fruit and plums are his to-go snacks, watermelons and grapes are perfect for hot afternoons and strawberries with brown sugar are his favourite dessert, but his favourite could possibly be the BANANA. I guess it’s because he’s born in the year of the monkey (Chinese Zodiac) and he takes his zodiac sign seriously.
Please pick my family to be the lucky guests to dine at The Ocean Restaurant. We love food and we love watching Iron Chef America on the Food Channel and Cat Cora is an amazing chef. She is a such an inspiration as one of the very few top women chefs, and my dad is very amazed that a woman can cook so well. We have always been fans of the iron chef shows on the Asian Food Channel and would love the opportunity to have good food at a beautiful restaurant. The old underwater aquarium was our favourite family outing spot, and my father loves snorkeling and scuba diving, but cannot do it anymore. It would be such a fantastic experience to dine (at a superb restaurant) and see the beautiful fishes and corals in the restaurant.
PICK ME PLEASE!!!!
My dad loves pomegranate the most because it’s a fruit that has a lot of nutrients and goodness in it. (He’s a bit of a healthy junkie). He has so much joy opening the pomegranate fruit and extracting the pulps carefully. It’s definitely a joy to see how he enjoys the process of extracting the pulps and juicing it for the family. My family would love to meet Cat Cora because she has been a great inspiration. My dad pays close attention to great food and always offers me advices on how I should improve the texture and taste. It would be delightful if he gets to savour dishes made by Cat Cora. Thank you so much for this opportunity (:
Hi brad!
Firstly, thank you for your awesome giveaways for your readers as always. Just to share with you, my dad’s favourite fruit which is durian. we will only have durian once a year during the durian season. My dad has always been a big fan of durian and loves cooking. On weekends, he will always make us lunch and dinner without fail. Chef cat cora has always been one of my dad’s most admired chefs around the world. I know that everyone would respect their dad’s as they have been providing for their family ever since the day their kids were born and it is not easy. I hope to win this for my dad to show him how thankful i am to him all these years for contributing to this family of his. I am currently still studying thus such luxuries is beyond my financial capabilities. To all dad’s around the world, happy father’s day! Good luck to all and God bless
My dad’s favourite fruit is the mango. My family would love to meet cat Cora as it would be an honour to meet a female master chef in person. I hope I can make this Father’s Day special for my dad.
Hi there! My father fav fruit is durian!!!!! He loves tropical fruits and often bought home when the season is here! And the most important reason why I would like to bring my dad to cat Cora because of FISH / AQUARIUM. He simple loves loves loves fish and that explains why I have 2 fish tanks at home. As we stay Punggol, he would cycle to pasir ris farm to see if there’s any new breed of fish or plants he can buy to put into the tank. Washing the tank, upgrading to sea Salt tank, cleaning the pipes, clearing the algae and sitting in the living room for hours just staring at the tank, this is my father, the fish lover. With this, I hope I can bring him to dine at a place right beside the tank. Happy Father’s Day papa!!! <3
My superhero dad’s favourite fruit is grapes. My family mainly my dad and mum are extremely interested in meeting cat Cora as they are a huge fan of her and they watch iron chef America during their free time. My dad’s birthday is on 25th June and getting an opportunity to have dinner at the ocean restaurant would definitely be the best present he deserved as a father who provides selfless love. Thank you
My father’s favourite food will definitely be durian. In fact, almost everyone in my family loves it! Not just my father, our entire family are definitely food lovers. This once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to meet the celebrity chef Cat Cora and even have the honour to enjoy the delicate dishes that are personally cooked by her, definitely attracts me. No doubt, this would be the most unique Father’s Day gift and surprise for my father and a memorable experience for my family!
Hi Brad!
Like a true, blue Singaporean, my Dad’s favorite fruit is the durian ! He will go to any length to get the freshest and most pungent, even if that means hunting down durian trees in the wee hours of the morning when the king of fruits descends to the ground. “Iron Chef” has been my family’s favorite past-time for as long as I can recall. We’d gather around the TV and watch it over a meal, trying to imagine what all the fantastic dishes would taste like. With this amazing opportunity, my family can finally find out! Moreover, we would be ecstatic to meet Cat Cora, who is not only an outstanding chef and celebrity, but an inspiration with her contributions to charity work. Lastly, I’d love to make this Father’s Day one to remember for my father’s 60th Birthday.
Love, Dione
Oops typo, favourite fruit*
My dad’s favorite fruit is mango! He loves eating mango so much that my mum is always nagging at him not to eat it so often because it’s a heaty fruit and Singapore’s weather is so hot.
I have heard so much about Cat Cora and it would be an honor for me and my family to be able to meet her. Also, I would love to take this chance to thank my dad for everything he had done for the family. He’s the breadwinner of the family as my mum is a housewife.
My family doesn’t have the tradition of celebrating Father/Mother’s Day or even birthdays. It would be great if I am able to make this year an exception.
Well, to answer the very first question, haha my father does not have any favourite fruits. Instead, he refuses to eat fruits most of the time. Everytime I offer him fruits, he will always tend to come up with some funny excuses to not eat fruits. HAHAHA. As to why i want to meet Cat Cora, i really do not know why as well. To be honest, I am here trying my luck to seek a chance to see if i could bring him to somewhere nice to eat for Father’s day, instead of eating tze char most of the time. I am still a student, the most i could do for him is to buy him a new T-shirt and eat at a nearby tze char stall. :/ It would be cool, if i could stand a chance to win and visit this luxurious restaurant together with my father. Furthermore, he loves fishes as well! If I were to win and Cat Cora were to make a fruit dish for us, i hope she can add all types of fruits and make him eat them! At least he is eating fruits! Really hope i get to win this contest, so i can make new memories and take fishy pictures together with my father during this year Father’s Day! Thank You for this great opportuinity!
My father’s fav fruit is dragon fruit. He loves a good steak n wine to pair. I would like to bring my father n family to visit cat Cora at ocean Resturant to visit this aquarium dining as this ur is his 60th birthday. I had always heard so much about cat Cora n I love food, would like to be one of the honored persons to taste her wonderful cooking.
My dad’s favourite fruit is the iconic durian. One of the most distinct memory from my childhood was accompanying my dad as he personally hand-picked, smelt and chose every single durian, then at home – the family sitting around newspapers laid on the floor while he pried opened every single fruit with pride.
All my family members are foodies and we all cook/bake- my dad does so with gusto. It’s our family tradition to even make festive foods ourselves. My dad is also a lover and frequent visitor of local hawker food and coffee shops. Going to Cat Cora’s restaurant will be a real treat and very different experience especially for him and my family. Introducing him to Cat Cora’s style of seafood dishes and incorporating his fave and very ”local” fruit will be a meal to remember- for him and my family.
HEY! First of all, I am really glad for the many food reviews, instagram posts and comments that LadyIronChef has shared over the past few years. I follow ur instagram account and everytime you post food photos, i cant stop looking at them! Long live LadyIronChef!
Secondly, my father’s favorite fruit is none other than Jackfruit! My father loves the sweet, tangy and that bit of crunch when you bite unto it. He LOVES sticky rice jackfruit Thai dessert! It would truly be a blessing if we get the chance to meet and dine with Cat Cora and also ladyironchef in person. Random fact: Cat Cora and my parents are of the same age!
I have a passion for food and i dream of opening my own restaurant chains in the future (I am still a JC student haha). I loves travelling around singapore and source for new dining concepts and interior designs of the many restaurants here in sg! Eating at at different hawker centres is also my weekend get away( a welcome respite from A level). I recently had tian tian chicken rice that was newly opened in clementi hawker centre and oh my it was good! (I did not get paid for saying this).
My family share the same passion with me. My mum is a great cook (housewife)
I would love to ask my mum to be in charge of one of my restaurants in the future! Haha what a dream come true! Getting to meet Cat Cora would certainly keep my hopes and passion for food alive! I want to ask her to be my mentor (just kidding, but it would be another dream come true if she lets me
i want to know how she felt like when she opened when first restaurant (Cat Cora’s kitchen), what were the challenges she had to overcome and what key takeaways that i can learn from her if i were to open my own restaurant (i will invite both ladyironchef and Cat Core to dine for free in my restaurant hehe
Hopefully, i am lucky enough to be given this opportunity! But even if not, i am already very happy knowing that someone out there gets to enjoy that special dinner and hopefully be inspired too by Cat Cora. (Maybe LadyIronChef can offer me Cat Cora’s phone number instead hehehe).
CHEERS to LadyIronChef.
my father will eat any fruits that we served for him. He’ never refuse it. Haha
I would love to win this competition because we never go aboard fully members of family. Especially my father, he always refuses when i ask him to go on holiday. And i think this is a good idea to spend time together when father’s day later. So, i really hope i could win this competition. Thank you for the chance
My dad’s favourite fruit is bananas. He likes it because it gives him the energy he needs at work and he only buys the ones from Philippines.
My parents have brought me into the house kitchen since young and I’ve dwelled into the world of food ever since – even as I prepare to enroll into chef school once I ORD from the army. It would be a humbling experience to be able to meet Chef Cora as a chef-to-be and for my parents to meet one of the world’s culinary greats.
Since I am in the army, and my sister is constantly traveling for school immersion trips, the family has rare opportunities to be together and I hope for this Father’s Day occasion, I can get to spend time with them at Ocean Restaurant! It would mean so much to me and my family!
My dad’s favorite food is lychee, and he got me hooked into it too. On how this became his fruit of passion, the story was that he was born a Hainanese from Hainan Island, and there was a town or city which is a lychee rich ground and thus was named as ‘Lychee’ city! Abundance of lychees and thus that was how he got hooked onto it!
Would love to have a meal at Cat Cora as the dishes are pretty healthy and light, produced with the freshest of ingredients from
all round the world, and made with dedication and love! Just like the way I would love to treat my dad!
Did a quick scroll to get down to the comment part and realized most Dads here love durians! Not an exception for my Dad too! When I was younger, he would buy a few and we will have it after dinner at home. Gradually I stopped cos suddenly I just don’t like it as much. Of cos my Dad still loves it! And just last weekend I bought him durian mousse while on my way home
I hope to bring my family along to enjoy some good quality time over quality food! Coincidentally my Dad love fishes too, we used to rear a big one but decided to let it go a few years back. So I’m sure this dinner setting be a beautiful sight (he haven’t been there yet) while we enjoy the cuisine whipped up by Chef Cat Cora.
Wish us luck!
Sadly, I won’t be able to dine with my Dad on Father’s Day.
Being a Father myself, I hope I will be able to win the night out with Cat Cora at Ocean Restaurant because I think my kids will absolutely love the place and of course, the food!
At the end of the day, I think that’s all any dad wishes for on Father’s Day – to spend time with family and to see a smile on their faces. And strawberries, covered in dark chocolate. My favourite fruit!
My dad favorite fruit is Durian, the king of fruit.
My dad had worked from 5am to 11pm every day (including weekend). He always thrift and worked hard to support the family. Due to his work commitment, he hardly have a good meal, not mentioning visiting the nearby shopping centre. My family hoped to bring him out to have a meal with a good atmosphere, giving him a greatest dining experience and paint a good memory
It will be the first time my daddy experience fine dining, moreover it will be at Ocean Restaurant where we can enjoy looking at the fishes while dining. We will be very lucky and honoured if we are able to enjoy the food prepared by Cat Cora. My daddy’s favourite fruit is durian. I’ve been to Ocean Restaurant with my girlfriend last year and also mentioned to my family about the delicious food and good experience I’ve had with Ocean Restaurant. We have been looking forward to visit Ocean Restaurant one day and we will no matter what.
Hello Everyone !
I really love taking part in all sorts of contest because it is like a short moment of striking happiness to share with my family and friends everytime !
I am an food econ student in my school and I really really enjoy cooking all sorts of food ! Usually get my ideas from chefs recommendations, dinner at restaurants or even on the social media like Pinterest.
This is really really a good opportunity for me to spend more time with my family as we have been going through really tough times since 3 months ago after a car accident. ThankGod our lives are protected but we still going through financial difficulties so I wish to win this as an appreciation for my dad for being so still and strong!
He is not picky for food but because he usually consume bananas, so I guess he really like bananas !
To be honest, I do not know Cat Cora really well but she is often mentioned by food econs teacher in her way of garnishing dishes ! It was really good and appealing !
Told my family about this contest that I will be participating in and also share with them about Cat Cora ! They are quite impressed and looking forward to me winning this contest ! I really hope that I will win as I myself is looking forward for Cat Cora’s dishes this coming father’s day !
Thank you
My dads favorite fruit are blackberries. He opens a container of them in the morning & leaves it out on the kitchen counter and through out the day grabs a handful of them every time he walks by. I feel like this trip would be a blessing because my dad has a full time job yet my mother is a volunteer animal rescuer so, he has to work twice as hard to support our family. My dad does not get many oppurtunies to go out and do special things and this would give him a chance too. He is the chef of the house also, always inventing new cuisines and different cooking methods. This opportunity would teach him a lot.
My dad’s favourite fruit is the durian. And you know how much durian lovers love the “zhu cik” /small seeded durian.. But he will always leave it for me to eat.. He will also test the durians first before asking me to eat.. Once its proven its the bitter sweet type, he will let me have it (*in fact, we are going to rws durian fest as well
) Its love in these small ways that earns my respect.. On Fathers Day i hope i can give him a deserving treat.. Winning this will be prefect as he will get to meet Chef Cora in person and have some yumilicious durianfied dish prepared soecially for him.. He will also get to eat with his favourite hang he / stingray (i mean he looks at them in the gigantic tank).. Together with his beloved wife.. I know after having 3 children for 3 decades, they really deserve a date night out.. It will be totally un un un believable
My dad loves papaya including its seeds!! It’s funny how much papaya he makes us all eat just to finish up the ripe ones. Little did we know that papaya seeds actually turn a person’s hair black. Poor old dad with his silver greys, he then grew streaks of black hair that looked like highlights gone wrong. I love how adorable he looked. I miss my dad. I rarely get to see him after moving out. We used to watch Cat Cora on Iron Chef America and Masterchef. The both of us would really enjoy having this opportunity to spend time together again especially with our favourite chef. My dad always promise that he would cook one of Cora’s dishes after watching them on TV. That was 3 years ago. Hopefully by meeting her, he would get to keep his promise.
my dad’s favourite food is durian. and i hope i am able to win the night out at Ocean Restaurant so that i can let my dad enjoy a luxurious Fathers’ Day this year. he has been a thrifty person himself, but generous when it comes to others. Thus, i really hope i am able to bring him to eat good food as well as get the chance to meet Cat Cora!!
Hi Brad, to be honest I don’t know what’s my dad’s favourite fruit. That’s not because I’m not observant enough. But very often, I will find him preparing my favourite fruit instead. This fathers day, I would like to bring him to Cat Cora. It will be a lovely experience for our family as I just started entering the workforce recently and my younger sister got back during her winter break from Australia.
My dad’s favourite fruit happens to be mangosteen. He will always look forward to the fruit season of the year. This fathers day I hope to bring him to Cat Cora. Having lived so many years, he has never once splurged on himself. This would be the best time to repay him.
My dad favourite fruit is Mango, however, recently he developed an allergy to it. But that doesn’t stop him from eating it,that’s how much he likes it!
Dinner with Chef Cat Cora will be a memorable experience as we savour on her dishes while soaking in the ambience of SEA Aquarium.
My mama, sister and I, with our families just celebrated our papa’s 70th birthday today. Since being seven decade-old is a milestone in life, it would indeed be wonderful if we could have the privilege of enjoying Father’s Day with dinner at Ocean Restaurant and our meals personally prepared by Lady Iron Chef Cat Cora. And to be able to enjoy a dish with his favourite mango in it would be the icing on the celebration.
Orange is dad’s favorite.
I’m Mouse TYT and am leading my troop (family) this time to savour not RATatouille but Cat Cora’s MeowMeal. Hope to see the ‘Tom&Jerry’ excitement !
Writing this on behalf of my children (they are too young to do so) as I would love to bring their daddy to experience this brilliant dining concept.
Daddy’s favourite fruit will be mangoes!
Winning this would bring loads of smiles to the family because we will get to dine with the fishes and speak with Cat Cora to find out more about this wonderful unique concept. Not forgetting the privilege to have Cat Cora create a special mango dish just for daddy!
Thank you for bringing this to Singapore!
My dad’s fav fruit is mango!! A tropical delight!! I’ve always read about rave reviews of Cat Nora online and would really like this opportunity to greet her in person. I am deeply intrigued with her master works and would love for my family to have a taste of it as well! Furthermore the Ocean Restautant is the perfect, serene and luxurious dining place for a Father’s Day Celebration! Definitely a treat that’s worth it!
My dad’s favourite fruit is emperor pear. Reason is as simple as it is a good size and sweetness level to eat it.
The recent years, we couldn’t celebrate father’s day as I just started working a year ago and also inconvenient for my dad as he’s a handicapped individual. For this year father’s day, I wish to have the opportunity of a lifetime to celebrate father’s day with family and Cat Cora. Furthermore; my parents have not been to SEA Aquarium before.
Thanks for this meaningful contest ; LadyIronChef!
Perry.
