One of my strategies for finding good restaurants is through recommendations from friends. I am lucky to have many friends who are “into” food, so I can always trust them to update me about their new favourite restaurants.
A few of my friends have been telling me about Bedrock steakhouse, and whenever they feel like having steaks, I know I’ll most likely be able to find them there.
Bedrock Bar & Grill at Pan Pacific Serviced Suites is a modern New York style steakhouse – opened by restaurateur Keith Loh, who is also the owner of Oriole Cafe. The restaurant boosts a dark, sexy, and classy interior; making it the ideal place to bring your client for a business luncheon, or your date for a romantic dinner.
The menu at Bedrock is small and focused: you can go for starters like Roasted Bone Marrow ($24) and French Onion Soup ($15); for main course, choose between the 220g USDA Prime Black Angus Tenderloin ($89), 250g USDA Prime Dry Aged Striploin ($79), 400g USDA Prime Black Angus Ribeye ($89), or 300g Wagyu Steak ($69); and there are Flourless Chocolate Cake ($16) and Waffle Ice Cream Sandwich ($16) to end the meal on a sweet note.
For something that’s a little easier on the wallet, go for the 2 course set lunch which has five choices: Applewood Grilled Chicken ($26), Grilled Ribeye Steak ($32), Grilled Striploin Steak ($30), Chopped Steak Cheese Burger ($26), and Crispy Skin Seabass ($26). Top up $6 for 3 course set lunch.
Bedrock offers five different side dishes for the set lunch: Yukon Gold Mash Potatoes, Green Beans, Mac & Cheese, Rocket & Parmesan Salad, and French Fries.
My friend is a regular at CUT Steakhouse, and she swears by their Yukon Gold Mash Potatoes. When the server brought the food to our table, we were so eager to try the potatoes that we completely ignored the steak (for that few seconds.) I thought that they were okay, but my friend felt that it wasn’t as good as the one at CUT.
The Mac & Cheese, in contrast, was very good. It was one of the better ones I’ve had before.
Both the Grilled Striploin Steak and Grilled Ribeye Steak were decent, but nothing to write home about. Maybe it’s because we were having high expectations of Bedrock Steakhouse, but we were not blown away. Don’t get me wrong, the steaks were well-executed and better-than-average. I guess we were just expecting something more.
Overall, a satisfying meal at Bedrock Steakhouse though I think the steaks could be a little more wow. That being said, the set lunch is good value for money, and I like the ambience of the place. I think I’ll most likely come back during dinner for the ala carte menu.

Have heard about Bedrock and wanted to try it. What I want to know is if the place is kids-friendly?
I have a 7&2yo and I like bringing my kids out with me most of the times.
Thanks!
@Chloe I’d think it’s not a place where you want to bring your kids along. Bedrock doesn’t have a kids menu, and most of the items on their menu are “adult food” – lots of meat. Moreover, the place is quite dim and romantic, probably a better option for your husband and you to go for a nice date?
do try the ala-carte menu. the food at bedrock has never failed to disappoint!
the bone marrow and jamon iberico starters are divine and if you’re looking for the wow-factor steak, then its definitely the tomahawk steak.
fantastic.
Hi Xiu
“….never failed to disappoint..” – do you mean the steak good or not so good !?
Tks
LLW
“….never fails to disappoint…” means it always disappoints.
I think XIU means it is good, just should have said ‘has never failed to impress’ or ‘has never disappointed’
I will have to try this steak out, I am getting mixed feedback and will have to go decide for myself!
