I think it’s a shame that Korean food in the Singapore food scene isn’t as strong as its Japanese counterpart. For those of you who have been craving for Korean Food, I know exactly how you feel. Sometimes, it’s quite frustrating not knowing where to go for good Korean Food even though we have quite a few Korean Restaurants in Singapore.
I’m currently on a hunt for the best Korean Fried Chicken in Singapore, and I also want to try a few Korean BBQ Restaurant. I am going to round up a few friends for a Korean BBQ Buffet and have a crazy night of eating. Okay, one of my new year resolutions is to eat more Korean food – bibimbap, Korean Ginseng Chicken, kimchi and pancake, here we come!
Here’s a list of the Best Korean Restaurants in Singapore:

Bornga Korean Restaurant

While it is relatively easy to find Korean restaurants in Singapore, it is difficult to find a truly outstanding place that will make you go back again and again to try everything else on the menu that you have not tried. Big Mama Korean Restaurant at Kim Tian Road is one of the few that belongs to this category. The food is generally good, and addictive enough to make you return on a regular basis.

We went to Crystal Jade Korean Restaurant at Ngee Ann City for their Korean BBQ recently, and the food was surprisingly good and affordable. Another must-order dish includes the Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup.

Kim Dae Mun Korean Cuisine
For cheap and good Korean food in Singapore, Kim Dae Mun Korean Cuisine, a stall at the basement food court at Concorde Hotel is the place to head to. Prices range from S$4.50 – S$7.50.
100 Orchard Road Level 1
Food Court Concorde Hotel Singapore Singapore
My favourite Korean restaurant in Singapore. One of the reasons why I love Kim’s Family Restaurant is because they serve ten banchan (side dishes). The food here is authentic, reasonably affordable and very delicious.

Kko Kko Nara Korean Fried Chicken
Kko Kko Nara Korean Restaurant on Tras Street (Tanjong Pagar) is a mom-and-pop chicken place that has been around for a while. It is one of my favourite to-go places for Korean Fried Chicken. And if you are looking for a place for supper, Kko Kko Nara opens till late night 4am.

Frequented mostly by Korean students, Ming Jia Korean Food – a small kiosk at the basement of Bukit Timah Plaza – is another place where you can go for cheap and good Korean food.

Red Pig Korean Restaurant
Red Pig Korean Restaurant is one of the most popular Korean places in the Central Business District. If you are working in the area, go there for lunch – most of the set lunches are only S$10. For dinner, prices are considerately steeper, but there is a reason why people always go back for the Korean BBQ.
93 Amoy Street

Sarang Korean Restaurant
Located at Orchard Central (level 7), Sarang prides itself as a Korean bistro, and it has recently introduced a Korean-style tapas menu which features classic favourites and modern Korean-fusion dishes.

Togi Korean Restaurant
Judging by the crowd on a weekday dinner, Togi Korean Restaurant is definitely one of the more popular places for Korean cuisine. I’ll probably go back again for their Korean BBQ.
11 Mosque Street Singapore
Tel: +65 6221 0830
Wang Dae Bak Korean BBQ Restaurant
Another place that you can go on Amoy Street is Wang Dae Bak Korean Restaurant, which specialises in Korean BBQ. During lunch, they have very good set lunches and we would recommend the Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup (S$10), which is a steal for the price.

Cool Have you tried ±ogi (Togi) Korean Restaurant on Mosque Street? It’s really authentic and good too.
Oops. Missed the last review. lol. too many choices. Feel free to moderate. Haha
Red Pig Korean Restaurant at Amoy Street is awesome too if you haven’t tried it. Average per dish is $20 and I would recommend their Spicy Pork!
There’s also a Korean Fried Chicken place on the top floor of Beauty World. http://bit.ly/h1nqnu
You got to wait very long for it, the place looks very simple, but their fried chicken is nice!
(Now that’s the 3rd Korean place near your place!)
Oh yes, there’s also a 4th Korean place near your place. Cheong Chin Nam Road has a Korean place too!
I recommend 2D1N sojubang. ^^ they have one of the most authentic menus and a wide variety of choices. The kamjatang (potato stew with pork ribs) and bbosam is good!
kkokkonara has good main dishes besides the chicken. you should try soondae. it’s pork intestines filled with vermicelli noodles etc stained with pig’s blood. not for the faint hearted but it’s good ~
how about dong bang hong? its at telok ayer and joo chiat.
http://www.dongbanghong.com/04_map.htm
its mul(water) naeng(cold) meon (noodles) are good, add in the condiments! seafood noodles and jajangmeon are good too
GO LADYIRONCHEF!
And Happy New Year 2011!
Yay I love Korean food! Can’t wait to see you post more on the Korean eateries in Singapore Oh please give Full House Cafe a try, it’s situated along Tanjong Katong!
Definitely Kim’s family restaurant and Auntie Kim’s… Just wondering whether you’ve tried Your Woul near Udders at United Sq.. it looks pretty good
2D1N Soju bang along neil road is good too
Although their previous location at tanjong pagar (quite near the current one actually)has a better ambience, the food is enough to keep me going back!!!
seems like Kim’s Family Restaurant has moved to Sunset Way. there was a notice pasted on the roller shutters when i was there today, hmm
great list of restaurants.. I am an avid Korean Food fan too.. hope to try out most of the restaurant in SG.
@SY: Kims Family opened another outlet.
Recommends Full House korean food along Tanjong Katong Rd
Thank you so much for the detail!
Saranghaeyo!
Hi, ladyironchef
I am looking for Haebok Korean Restaurant, they relocated out of Furama City Centre last year. Have you come across this restaurant?
Korean food?? I still like SEOULYUMMY best!!!
Reasonably priced and mouth-watering Korean food, betcha can’t stop eating!!
I always go to their first shop @ Square2 (Novena MRT station) but have tried at their Central branch too. My friends like their latest branch for it’s central location – Suntec Basement. Regret if u dun try =p
edgar: I am not very sure where they shifted to, will let you know if I hear any news
I teach Korean cooking in Singapore so I might call myself fussy but so far only Korean restaurant I have raved about to anyone is “Dong Bang Hong”. It’s a Chinese Korean restaurant which specialise in Jja jang myun (black bean noodles) and Jjambong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and I think it’s better than Korea.
I recently tried a new Korean BBQ restaurant called Man Bok BBQ (63 Tanjong Pagar Road) and their meat was really good and the price was reasonable. Check it out!
The ginseng chicken soup and Jajiangmeon are by far the better ones that I have tasted at Hyang To Gol Korean Restaurant. The rest of the dishes are so-so only. However, prices are consider cheap for a restaurant located in a hotel. Great service though. Haven’t got a chance to try the BBQ food, and I have friends commenting that it isn’t good, so I decided to give it a miss. Fantastic ice ginger tea and kimchi soup that whets your appetite!
try 2days1night soju bang! they have very yummy BBQ buffet at super affordable price!
Yes yes! 2d1n Sojubang buffet is sooo good and pocket friendly! It’s alittle stuffy and hot but the atmosphere is so authentic as if im in a food tent in Seoul! their marinating is soooo awesome IMO! There’s shigye drink too!
I love Manna restaurant somewhere around telok ayer street ) They have a smaller and cheaper dining place in Plaza Singapura basement called Manna Story. I love the bulgogi set and the children’s set is huge and popular with my kids
found another korean restaurant which is just at kreta ayer rd..they open from 5.30pm to 5am..a very good place to hang out after work till the wee hours..excellent and authentic KOREAN food..the owner of the shop makes everything on her own..! the name of the shop is called Just Like Before =) do try it out =)
Anyone know that there’s a very good korean restaurant that used to be at the 2nd floor of the old Orchard John little which is now 313??? I just couldn’t recall their name. Anyone know where have they relocate and their name?
found another korean restaurant at Kreta Ayer..very very authentic korean food served and cooked by koreans.???? just like before.that’s the name of the restaurant.its just in fron of the bus stop and 5 mins walk away from outram park mrt station.
Thanks! I love the Korea food site…. In curve for authentic Korean food . Super
chowon restaurant… sells really nice food.. around $20+ for the food.. recommend the dukbokki as it is really nice!! daebak!
hi ladyironchef! may i know where i can find better chicken jinseng soup in the whole list of korean restaurants?
Kimberly: Crystal Jade Korean restaurant at Taka has a good chicken Ginseng soup, if not you can try Kim’s family restaurant?
Try Red Pig at Amoy Street. It’s very authentic!
quite surprised to see that red pig restaurant is not on that list, they have really good dukbokki & bbq even though it’s ala carte & can be more pricey.
2d1n sojubang on the other hand, doesn’t get me raving even though it always has long queue for its buffet, the meat isn’t as flavourful in my opinion, so i reckon the crowd’s there for it’s cheaper pricing given the amount you can eat..
WOW, thanks! I has been looking for Korean restaurants for so long, tried a couple of them.
It is good to find so many people share the same interest with me!
There are two in Novena Square 2:
Hansang Korean Family Restaurant #03-32 to 35/40 to 44(tried once, didn’t like it, but maybe because I ordered the wrong thing)
Seoul Yummy Korean Casual Dining / Froyoo #03-66 to 72/77/78
There is also one in China point, but recently moved away, to where I don’t know, liked their pancake.
hyang-to-go at amara is very good! their lunch sets are very cheap for the quality!
5 min from chinatown mrt there is a korean restaurant called Gum Gang Won. we love their BBQ SET and side dishs are very deliciou but only few can be refill. price also reasonable.
The authenticity of the food at hyang-to-go is evident in the number of korean people who eat there. Majority of their customers are Koreans. I’ve been there a few times, and according to my korean friends, it IS the most authentic korean food in Singapore.
Jang Shou BBQ – For $82 for 2 pax including a drink. I think the food spread is so much worse compared to before 2 years back. They used to be very authentic but now for the same price, they do not even serve the japanese button mushroom anymore but instead slices of potatoes. The korean fried noodles are also terrible, sweet and taste like half cook. Kimchi also had a sour smell, it definitely does not taste like the normal kimchi that I always had. We used to be able to eat at least 2 hours there. But today, we are done like in less than an hour. You can image how bad the spread was. Even the green vegetables that korean normally used to wrap with meat (local lettuce) was not served anymore but rather replaced with another type of lettuce which you normally will get to buy it from supermarkets. Given the spread that they are serving currently, I think I am only willing to pay like $22 per pax instead of $33.80+.
probably would like to try this very simple korean bbq family restaurant.
I came across by this deal http://www.streetdeal.sg/deals/view/714/0/Selegie_EAT-ALL-YOU-CAN_Ala-carte_Korean_BBQ_BUFFET_Hankang_Korean_BBQ_Restaurant.html
and amazingly the vegetable pancake tasted really good, as well as the rice cakes, not to mention the bbq items as well.
the menu has very little range to it but for a group gathering definitely will go back there.

Hi I was just wonder of all the places where can I find nice spicy sticky rice cake? Thank you =)
Hyangtogol is awesome!!!. Try the Budae Jjigae (Army Soup) there it’s the best!!
As for Kim’s… They changed their chef quite awhile back and their standard dropped especially their soondubu jjigae (tofu stew) – which is one of my fav Korean food – doesn’t taste authentic at all.
There’s a new BBQ meat buffet at serangoon called Goki Day! It’s pretty good and there’s free flow of jeon (Korean pancake) which I have to say is nearly the standard of Hyangtogol’s
From a Korean point of view, it’s really disappointing that most Korean restaurants are not half as good as in Korea. I grew up in Sydney thinking how bad Korean food was in Sydney but now comparing to Singapore, it’s 10times better in Sydney.
My three favorite Korean restaurants are:
1.Dong Bang Hong (Telok Ayer Street) – they specialised in Korean version of black bean noodle (jja jang myun) and jjambong (spicy seafood soup). It’s Korean Chinese restaurant, yes we took Chinese dish and turned into Korean!! haha This restaurant is full with Koreans working nearby at Samsung Hub.
2. Nol bu Hang-a-ri at Katong Mall -another branch opened at 112 Katong mall and run by Koreans which is a good sign. I usually test the restaurant by trying Korean spicy beef soup (yuk ge jang) and it was very very good. Their BBQ chicken was excellent as well.
3. Man bok Galbi – (63 Tanjong Pagar Road): Found this restaurant in Korean weekly newspaper. Price is affordable and all bbq was very very good.
Auntie Kim’s is still my favourite among the lot! I love the cosy feeling
You never add Manna and flying pig?
Hi By any chance do you happen to know where Haebok’s korean restaurant is located at? I heard that it has been relocated out of furama city centre
Don’t ever go to. Han kang. It’s like the worst place I have ever since. I got the deal coupon for $18 a head and really I don’t expect much, but boy was I in for a surprise when I got there, it’s in the backyard, no aircon so really warm when u eat BBQ in sgp hot weather, food promised of ten dishes of meat not there prob only 7, the ramen was instant noodles despite the promised look and came with slivers of egg white and nothing else. The other kimchi dishes looked like you bought in a huge plastic bag and dump into a bowl for everyone. For that kind of money, I could eat really decent at popular steamboat places with good enough quality of meat. I have eaten from really high end to the more economical Korean restaurant but nothing beats the crap this restaurant dole out and worst the pplp in rest grumbled throughout how much they are not making! They must be kidding themselves to think that when pplp come to a buffet they won’t eat! And really as a business owner myself who has done deals with likes of groupon etc. these deals are not supposed to make you money, they are an investment into your brand, products and services! Not to mention, Han kang is pretty unhygienic too. I have a major problem with their attitude and food. So please don’t fall for this like me and my little girl did, and yes she is only nine and can tell too it’s bad, meaning it’s really bad.
Dong Bang Hong ! It’s opened by my friend’s parents and I’ve been there a few times. I really like their jja jang myeon and jjam bong ! The jjam bong soup is really nice ~
Thanks so much for your information!
I’m from HK actually, I’ll be SG at the end of this month, and I would like to celebrate my boyfriend’s birthday during my trip, would you please advice me which restaurents have a nice place and the food is good as well? We both like Korean food!thanks!
Hansik Korean Restaurant – Heartland Mall, Kovan. Quite new but getting more and more customers each time i revisit.
My family of 6 visited the novena outlet of Ssikkek for lunch and the service is horrible. There was this particular petite girl with big plastic frames who doesn’t acknowledge when you try to get her attention and instead tells you off saying that she is attending to other tables first.
No smiles, excuse me, please hold on etc and it happened thrice. The Philipino staffs are pleasant and helpful so we turned to them for help instead after this really nasty girl. The “aunties” there are polite so we were unlucky to get that girl serving our section. Our observations confirmed that she is the sort who doesn’t smile at diners and is just plain miserable working as a waitress. Even my dad who is a really patient man shook his head at her curtness. We won’t be going back there ever again no matter how good the food as there was no service recovery after our feedback.
We all love Korean food and our favourite family restaurant is a family run business in Bt Timah. It is a hidden treasure in Jurong Kechil and they serve different side dishes that taste great everytime we visit.
Are any of these halal?
The much needed names. Looking forward to the Korean Fried Chicken
