Omakase Burger at The Grandstand (formerly Turf City) has been winning lots of fans – some people even proclaimed it as the best burger in Singapore – so I had to make a trip there to see what the fuss is about.
Omakase cheeseburger ($13.90) is made up of a delicious hand-ground beef patty with melted cheese, lettuce, tomato and sauce in a nicely toasted bun. The perfect burger? Almost. Omakase’s burger was indeed very good, but it was tiny and not exactly as satisfying. That said, I have had plenty of mediocre burgers with much higher price tags, so it is still probably one of the better burgers around.

Hi Brad. I LOVE this place! It’s the SG version of the US burger joint shake shack…at least I think it is. Agree the sizes aren’t huge but then again, it could be argued from a waistline perspective that eating a smaller burger isn’t a bad thing really!
This is proof that you’ve become one huge sellout. Stop giving good reviews to mediocre food. Why can’t you be more discerning with your choices, rather than be so general. Just goes to show that popularity really corrupts legitimate reviews
Very expensive! For a low income people, cannot go there. One burger $15.90 and its soooo small.
One of the most horrible burgers I’ve tried. Then again I have not tried many burgers outside fast food as my mom makes monster beef patties.
Omakase applewood smoked bacon cheeseburger (their signature) was so-so, not that flavorful.
The ‘chicken sandwich’ was practically tasteless and turned out to me to be a very poor rendition of a McChicken with an over cooked chicken patty clearly fried in oil that has not been changed since morning.
Prices were particularly hefty too. $17.90 for the former and $15.90 the latter. Sizes of the burgers roughly about those you can get for $2 in your local fast food restaurant.
Not worth a second visit. But do take note it is just my opinion. There are quite a significant number who thinks they’re really good so it could be that their quality is inconsistent.
