Cupcakes with Love: New Cupcake Bakery
I’ve always loved cupcakes and I am really happy to see the cupcake trend slowly picking up in Singapore. Plenty of cupcake bakeries have sprung up in the past year and it is really exciting for a dessert lover like me.
One of the new places that serve cupcakes is Cupcakes with Love – a full fledged cupcake cafe at Tanjong Katong. A nice cafe which sells nothing but cupcakes. How cool is that?
Singapore Restaurant Week 2011
Singapore Restaurant Week is back for the second time this year from 9 to 16 October 2011. Bookings have already started on 21th Sep, by the time you are reading this, most of the best restaurants in Singapore are almost fully booked for this week-long gastronomic affair. Nonetheless, there are still some decent restaurants left that are worth checking out.
The restaurants will be offering exclusive three-course lunches at S$25++ and three-course dinners at S$35++. Click read more for the full list of participating restaurants.

Il Lido Italian Dining Sentosa Golf Club
Il Lido Italian Dining at Sentosa Golf Club is a restaurant that has consistently been voted as one of the best restaurants in Singapore, and it is frequently praised for the quality of Italian food.

There are some places like Prive Bakery Cafe and PS Cafe that I love for their ambience; other places like Oriole cafe and Epicurious for the affordability; and Artichoke, Spruce and Barracks for the food. But when it comes to a cafe that I go all the time, Marmalade Toast is definitely the place.
Marmalade Toast Cafe is a hidden gem in Orchard Road. It has been around for very long, but even up till now, I’m surprised that not many people know about them. Located at a corner of Ngee Ann City, the cafe is a simplified version of Marmalade Pantry restaurant. They have a pretty straightforward menu of salads, wraps, sandwiches and desserts – everything priced reasonably under $10.
Best Custard Bun (Liu Sha Bao) in Singapore
I love custard buns. It is not a secret that I have been on a quest to find the best custard buns in Singapore.
A good custard bun (also known as Liu Sha Bao) has soft pillowy dough which is filled with egg custard and salted duck egg’s yolk. There are plenty of dim sum restaurants in Singapore that serve it, but most of them are mediocre. Where can you find good custard buns? Brasserie Les Saveurs St Regis Singapore
Brasserie Les Saveurs at The Regis is easily one of the most romantic restaurants in Singapore. It offers all-occasion dining, serving set lunch, afternoon high tea, degustation dinner menu and of course, Sunday champagne brunch.
Even though I’ve been to Yan Ting restaurant many times, this was my first visit to Brasserie Les Saveurs at The St Regis Singapore and I instantly fell in love with the French restaurant.
But the problem is, it’s very easy to make me fall head over heels. Just give me two (maybe three) glasses of champagne and a platter of desserts and I would be screaming “baby, I am in lurveee with you!” So is it because of the champagne or is the Sunday brunch buffet at Brasserie Les Saveurs really good?
