Por Kee Eating House Zhu Chao Stall

Por Kee Eating House

When I was younger, the de facto meeting place for gatherings was definitely at least a cafe, or a nicer restaurant for a special occasion. While I enjoy going out to fancy restaurants, I also like having a simple dinner at a Zhu Chao stall with my friends.

For one of our gatherings, we decided to meet at Tiong Bahru as everyone is working nearby. Since I’ve been to Sin Hoi San Seafood Restaurant, I asked my friend to recommend another eating place in the area, and she immediately suggested Por Kee Eating House – a very popular Zhu Chao Stall at Seng Poh road opposite Tiong Bahru Market.

Keisuke Tokyo Ramen Parco Marina Bay Restaurant

Keisuke Tokyo

I first knew of Keisuke Tokyo Ramen at Parco Marina Bay when I went to Nantsuttei Ramen for lunch. One of my favourite hobbies is to read restaurants’ menu, and I remember that they had an ebi-based broth (not Shio, not tonkatsu, not shoyu) ramen when I took a glance at their menu.

A while back, I went to Keisuke Tokyo for lunch, specifically for their award-winning ebi ramen, only to find out that they’ve removed it from the menu late last year.

Is Keisuke Tokyo still worth going? Is Keisuke Tokyo the best ramen restaurant in Singapore? Just how good exactly is Keisuke Tokyo to win the prestigious title of Ramen King in TV Tokyo’s Ramen Champion Series?

Paradise Pavilion

It’s no secret that I love dim sum. I’ve been on a quest to find the best dim sum in Singapore and I’m happy to introduce you to my new favourite dim sum restaurant – Paradise Pavilion at Marina Bay Financial Centre (MBFC).

If Taste Paradise is a gorgeous fine dining Chinese restaurant with oriental decorations, Paradise Pavilion would be its westernised sibling, with a stunning French-inspired neoclassical ambience.

Food Blogger, not Food Critic

ladyironchef

If you asked me 4 years ago whether I could see myself blogging for a living, hell no. For most of us, blogging is just a hobby and it does not bring in enough to pay the bills. I have no idea what happened exactly, but four years down the road, here I am, still blogging. The truth is, I’m really thankful to be able to do this full time.

Blogging gives me a lot of satisfaction, and nothing makes me happier than knowing that people enjoy reading my blog. Sometimes, people even call me a ‘food critic’. Yes, that’s right. Or a restaurant critic, if you may. You know, a person who eats (in the best restaurants) for a living. I’d always cringe at that.

I am not a food critic. Food blogger, yes. But food critic, no.

Basilico Restaurant Italian Buffet The Regent Singapore

Basilico

If I had a dollar every time someone asked me to recommend a cheap and good buffet, I’d be a millionaire by now. There are many buffet restaurants in Singapore, but most of them are only average, while the really good buffets usually come with a relatively hefty price tag.

So listen up guys, I’m just going to say it once. The buffet lunch at Basilico restaurant is one of the best, if not the best, in the $40-50 category.
