YOKU MOKU—Japan’s famous Confectionery known for its Cigare butter cookies—is opening in Singapore. The flagship store is located in ION Orchard and it will officially open in January 2018.
For those of you who cannot wait to get your hands of their signature Cigare, we are happy to report that YOKU MOKU will be opening pop-up stores at ION Orchard (Level 1, from 01 Dec to 31 Dec 2017) and Takashimaya (Level B2 near Cold Storage, from 4 Dec to 25 Dec 2017).

Unless you have been living under a rock, you would have heard of Castella cakes by now as the bouncy Japanese sponge cake is currently the latest food trend that has exploded on social media.
It seems that the ongoing Castella cake fad has brought yet another brand to Singapore shores and it is none other than the famous Original Cake from Taiwan—the first cake store in Tamsui Old Street which specialises in Castella cakes.
The bakery is so successful among their loyal customers that it currently has four stores in Taiwan and six outlets in Malaysia.

Le Castella, a famous Castella cake shop from Taiwan, opened in Singapore back in May 2017 and it kickstarted a new trend for castella cakes in Singapore.
For the uninitiated, a Castella cake is a sponge cake from Nagasaki, Japan, known for its pillow-like appearance and moist interior. Its ingredients comprise sugar, flour, eggs and starch syrup, however, the baking process remains a trade secret.
At Le Castella in Tampines One, people begin queuing for this jiggly, yummy sponge cakes literally an hour before the shop even opens.

Popular Hong Kong congee stall, Mui Kee, has opened a pop-up restaurant in Singapore. In partnership with Les Amis Group, the Hong Kong institution will start a six month-long pop-up at Casa Verde in Singapore Botanic Gardens.
Mui Kee itself has a long and rich heritage, but what draws its customer fan base is the unique taste and texture of the congee itself. Using fish broth, pork bones and other ingredients like century egg, this congee takes comfort food to a whole new level.
