Pint & Curries by Bar Bar Black Sheep

Pint & Curries

What does “Pint & Curries” sound like? You might be thinking about a hundred fancy stories, but it really is beer and Northern Indian food – favourites that are ever comforting.

When we were in London last year, we chanced upon several dining establishments that please their crowds with good beer and curries, and it is recognised as a lifestyle to watch your matches while indulging in two of life’s best pleasures. What may sound like a lethal combination is really not that potent, because as with wine pairing, beers can be paired to complement our favourite food, too!

Pint & Curries Clarke Quay

This year, the folks behind the highly popular Bar Bar Black Sheep have launched this very concept right here in Singapore. Nestled in the heart of Clarke Quay, Pint & Curries offers an affordable supper menu of North-Indian curries and well-loved crafted beers.

Party-ing at Clarke Quay will never be the same again. Be gone, hungry nights and empty stomachs. Pint & Curries is a great late night dining option in Singapore, and your best bet and pit stop when you need a hearty supper in between drinking, and its superb location calls for no driving (and being stopped for the breathalyser tests!)

[Closed] Beer Market Singapore – Good food and Good Beer

Beer Market

Football and ice cold beer come hand in hand. We all need night outs with our pals, and we really would not miss watching the latest football matches. Times like these, we turn to our regular haunts for reliable familiarity and comfort, where we can get our favourite beers and cheers to great goals.

And what if we tell you – on top of all these, there is a haven where you can fill your tummies with awesome food with even more awesome beers, too? Lately, Beer Market has sprung up to being one of our favourite chill-out spots, and with this post, we will make you forget what a typical pub means, and have you rethink and redefine what enjoyment really is with quality F&B.

Beer Market Clarke Quay

Strategically located at the bustling Clarke Quay, Beer Market is not your ordinary pub. Or bar. Or whatever Singaporeans deem as a place only for drinks. Beer Market is an institution, a place that is committed to offering a myriad of beers – both classic favourites and limited rare brands – and a menu so comprehensive, and even more appealing than the beer options! Some of the dishes like chicken rice pizza, squid ink fried rice, and salted egg yolk seafood pizza are enticing enough to make us go back again and again.

Au Chocolat Marina Bay Sands Singapore

Au Chocolat

Au Chocolat, opened by the folks behind Ku De Ta and Catalunya, occupies a huge space at a corner of Marina Bay Sands. It is divided into two sections: a retail confectionery store where you can find all sorts of delicious snacks – such as slice cakes, cupcakes, gelato, truffle – and fun merchandise. The other half is the bistro which has an all-day dining menu.

We have been to Au Chocolat many times, and tried quite a few items from the bistro and confectionery. Here are some of the highlights.

Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe Opens Till 4am

AdvertorialXin Wang Hong Kong Cafe

Occasionally I like to indulge in a sinful supper, and even though I have my trusty list of late night dining places to turn to, there are times when I would run out of places to go to, too.

Some restaurants are great spots for late night dining, but they often close by midnight, and of course, it is impossible to dine at expensive restaurants all the time. Some eateries, on the other hand, have good supper food, but they are not places where you would want to linger for long.

My ideal supper place should be somewhere that a) opens across wee hours, b) serves hearty supper food at affordable prices, c) offers a nice environment to hang out and d) is located conveniently. And Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe fits the bill perfectly.

Feast with Wee Owls

I was thrilled when I learned that 13 of the 16 Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafes have extended their opening hours till 4am daily. Whoopie! What a great news for supper lovers.

The good people from Thai Express Group (parent company of Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe) hosted us for a late night party, and all of us had so much fun playing games while pigging out.

Also, to celebrate the newly revised operation timings, Xin Wang Hong Kong Café is launching a new Facebook ‘Spot the Wee Owls’ contest. Read more to find out more about Xin Wang Hong Kong Cafe and the contest.

Sin Hoi Sai Seafood Restaurant Tiong Bahru

Sin Hoi Sai Seafood Restaurant

Sin Hoi Sai (also known as Sin Hoi San) Eating House has been around for ages and they hold a special place in my heart. When I was a kid, my uncle used to bring me there for dinner every month.

As the years went by, we stopped going there for zi char, but I am really happy to see that Sin Hoi Sai has been doing well. Ask any foodie where you can find a popular Zi Char Restaurant for supper and invariably, the name Sin Hoi Sai at Tiong Bahru will prop up.
