One of the most affordable Korean BBQ buffet restaurants in Singapore, K.COOK Korean BBQ Buffet is opening a new outlet at Woodleigh Mall.

Established in 2014, K.COOK Korean BBQ Buffet at Orchard Central is the go-to Korean BBQ buffet restaurant for many people who want an affordable Korean BBQ buffet without breaking the bank.

K.COOK Korean BBQ Buffet had another outlet at Westgate previously but it closed back in 2019.

The Korean BBQ buffet lunch starts from S$16.90++ while the buffet dinner is S$26.90++ during dinner.

During dinner, you can find a selection of meats like marinated pork collar, chicken, pork belly, spicy pork belly, bacon pork collar, marinated beef short rib, beef bulgogi, beef plate eye and marinated beef ribeye, while lunch has considerately lesser beef options.

It goes without saying that the quality and variety of meat are not the best, but there’s really nothing to pick on when the prices are so affordable.

Don Dae Bak Korean BBQ along Kreta Ayer Road offers a Korean BBQ buffet with unlimited meats, sides and steamed eggs at only S$27.90++/pax on weekdays.

What we love most about Don Dae Bak Korean BBQ is that the Korean restaurant uses charcoal grill instead of the usual gasoline grill. That sure makes a lot of difference to our meats!

This small outlet is just like any usual Korean BBQ place—round communal tables that are surrounded by kimchi and side dishes (free flow), all your sauces and chilli, and loud Korean pop songs on repeat mode. They use beef and pork belly from USA and Australia, as well as chicken that is sourced locally.

Don Dae Bak’s Korean BBQ Buffet includes:

Beef Bulogi

Beef Brisket

Pork Belly

Spicy Pork Belly

Shoulder Loin

Marinated Shoulder Loin

Marinated Chicken

Spicy Marinated Chicken

Korean sides

Steamed eggs

Other than the meats, the Korean BBQ buffet also comes with six free-flow Korean sides and unlimited steamed eggs.

The cherry on top is the pocket around the grill, where egg custard is poured and steamed egg is made. It is so simple, yet nothing short of comforting; just like the great Korean BBQ meals we’ve had in Seoul, though more often than not, steamed egg is a free dish they offer to diners.

If there was any good reason at all for someone to forgo their diet plans and let loose, it would be at an all-you-can-eat Korean barbecue restaurant. All-you-can-eat Korean barbecue is probably the most popular form of Korean barbecue there is.

What’s not to love? With unlimited servings (and varieties of cuts) of marinated beef, pork and chicken and a whole array of side dishes and mains to choose from, all at one affordable price point, even gym junkies with the strictest diets are bound to cave every once in a while— but do you know how to make the most of it?

Yet, more often than not, we find ourselves paying a lot more and eating a lot less than what we originally intended. We all get how frustrating that feels but don’t worry, because there’s an explanation for it. Here, we give you the lowdown on how to hack all-you-can-eat Korean barbecues.

#1 LAY OFF THE ALCOHOL

Ever wondered how a Korean barbecue that supposedly promised you an all-you-can-eat deal for not more than S$30 but ends up costing you close to a hundred? Alcohol is to blame.

Soju and beer are great accompaniments to Korean barbecue. They’re refreshing, and somehow they just make everything taste so much better but they are also how the restaurants earn more from you. A bottle of beer can set you back close to S$20 and let’s be honest, no one ever stops at just one bottle.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

#2 SKIP THE RICE

As much as plain rice helps takes the edge of all those intense meaty flavours, it is probably worthing skipping if you’re looking to maximise value.

#3 DITCH THE SIDES

At any Korean restaurant you visit, the staff are bound to fill your table up with a massive amount of side dishes. While the stuff is delicious and easy to let yourself go on, they’re going to take up stomach space so go easy on them or skip them altogether if you can help it—kimchi is an exception though.

#4 AIM FOR THE BETTER CUTS

While chadolbaegi (thinly sliced beef brisket) may be popular choice due to its ability to be cooked almost immediately, these cuts are generally may not necessarily boast the best marbling let alone be of top quality in light of all the other possible meat options.

Instead, take some time to browse the menu and pick out which items generally cost more whether its a ribeye or possibly something even better and go for that. Chances are they are going to taste better and make your money worth. And just between us, these are what we call the steak cuts, and restaurants do not want you to get those cuts. SO GET THOSE CUTS.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

#5 GET A HIT OF KIMCHI FROM TIME TO TIME

Maximising our money’s worth is primarily what we are trying to go for here but it probably would not hurt to take a few bites of kimchi from time to time. It’s crunchy, spicy and more importantly it has a good amount of acid which helps to cut through the intense meat and grease, balances out the palate, and adds a nice textural contrast so that you can dive right back into the meat.

#6 A GRILL THAT’S NOT HOT IS NEVER IDEAL

As far as grilling meat is concerned, the number one mistake people tend to make is rushing to throw everything onto the grill. The result of being too eager and crowding up the grill is you tend to end up with boiled meat as opposed to perfectly grilled meat.

The reason lies in the temperature of the grill. You need a high temperature to really get you that perfect, sharp sear and crowding up the grill, for one, lowers the temperature of the grill and also allows room for too much moisture on the grill—which inevitably lowers the temperature of it as well.

We always believe that the best way to barbecue meat is over charcoal. It gives it that subtle hint of smokiness that elevates its overall flavour. Wang Dae Bak has long been our go-to for a seriously good Korean BBQ meal and until this day, it is still one of our top choices when we’re craving Korean barbecue.

Most Korean BBQ places in Singapore use an electric grill where the heat can be adjusted accordingly. However, Wang Dae Bak prefers to use charcoal instead and we absolutely love it. This gives our meats a nice char and a delightful taste that far exceeds that of cooking on an electric grill.

Wang Dae Bak has been around for years but they still garner a huge crowd and snaking queues, especially during peak hours. Call ahead to reserve a seat if you want to skip the long wait. Here’s what we love about Wang Dae Bak Korean BBQ Restaurant.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

Wangbijib currently has three branches in Seoul and the outlet at Myeongdong is nestled within the second level of a building. Although the restaurant looks spacious, the seating capacity is limited so do expect to queue if you are visiting during peak hours.

One thing to note at Wangjibip is that they have great ventilation systems so you would not leave the restaurant smelling like Korean BBQ.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

They have a huge selection of vegetables, mushrooms and condiments for the BBQ. They have specially mixed onions and other condiments such as garlic and more. You can also grab some enoki mushrooms that are great when grilled.

Seafood is not available for lunch, but that’s fine. Let’s talk about the meats.

We tried everything they had that day, but our hearts went out to the Pork Belly and the Chuck Tender Beef.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

The former is unpretentious and classic, and have it wrapped in a lettuce leaf with some sauces and you will understand the true joy of Korean BBQ. The latter was as its name suggest – very tender, even when slightly over-grilled.

Other meats you can expect here are Marinated Pork Belly, Spicy Pork Collar, Garlic Chicken and signature ‘Volcano’ Chicken. More premium meats are actually available for dinner.

The Spicy Beef Soup was satisfying with chunks of beef and vegetables, while the Samgyetang (Ginseng Chicken Soup) was slightly underwhelming.

I’m Kim Korean BBQ is certainly wallet-friendly and we can see why it is so popular. They also have special (even lower) prices for students on weekdays.

Lunch: Mon to Fri: $14++ (adult); $9++ (kid)
Sat, Sun & PH: $24++ (adult); $18++ (kid)

Dinner: Mon to Fri: $22.90++ (adult); $18++ (kid)

There are way too many Korean BBQ restaurants in Singapore, and one that we tried lately and had a good dinner at is Don Dea Bak Korean BBQ at Kreta Ayer Road.

What we love most about Don Dae Bak Korean BBQ is that the restaurant uses charcoal grill instead of the usual gasoline grill. That sure makes a lot of difference to our meats!

This small outlet is just like any usual Korean BBQ place – round communal tables that is surrounded by kimchi and pickles (free flow), all your sauces and chilli, and loud Korean pop songs on repeat mode.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

And the cherry on top is the pocket around the grill, where egg custard is poured and steamed egg is made. It is so simple, yet nothing short of comforting; just like the great BBQ meals we’ve had in Seoul, though more often than not, steamed egg is a complementary dish they offer to kid diners.

On top of the Korean BBQ buffet, you should also give their a la carte dishes a try, such as Spicy Seafood Tofu Soup (S$12), Kimchi Jjigae (S$12), Budae Jjigae (S$28 for 2-3 pax), Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup (S$15), Kimchi Pancake (S$18), and Spicy Rice Cake (S$7).

Calling all carnivores! Please join us in indulging in Korean BBQ as we share our list of favourites with you.

We know so many of you have professed your love for Korean BBQ, and yes, we love a good meat feast too. Or a smokey affair at that. You know, that satisfaction when a whole galore of meat unfolds before you, and you just eat like there is no tomorrow. Of course, to neutralize the sin, we eat more kimchi to aid digestion, and we order stews to share.

But hey, life is too short to waste your calories on lousy food. We say just go all out on Korean BBQ, and party with all those damn meats! Here is our take on Singapore’s Best Korean BBQ Restaurants. You are welcome.

#1 2D1N SOJU BANG KOREAN RESTAURANT

Long queues are formed outside the Tanjong Pagar outlet daily during dinner hours. 2D1N Soju Bang Korean Restaurant may be a small outlet, but its menu sure excites. Other than the ubiquitous Beef Short Ribs (S$22 per 200g) and Pork Belly (S$18 per 200g), 2D1N has very interesting items such as Spicy Ox Tail Stew (S$40), Stir-fried Squid with Kimchi and Pork Belly (S$30) and Spicy Fish Stew (S$35).

#2 8 KOREAN BBQ

8 Korean BBQ is a modern Korean BBQ restaurant that is famous for its 8 Colours Set (S$98) which features Mangalitza pork belly in 8 flavours – wine, original, ginseng, garlic, herb, curry, miso paste, red pepper paste. In addition to the pork belly, 8 Korean BBQ also serves USDA Prime (S$38 to S$58) and Kagoshima Wagyu (S$78 to S$110).

You should also get a Korean Stew to go along with the BBQ meat. Options include Beef Kimchi Stew (S$18), Seafood Soft Tofu Stew (S$24), but we highly recommend the Army Stew (S$24).

#3 BLUE GARDEN KOREAN BBQ

Located on the ground floor of Link Hotel at Tiong Bahru is Blue Garden, and the bulgogi here is crazily delicious. It was our favourite among all the meats, but that said, Blue Garden still has a pretty wide spread to offer. The side dishes were pretty run-out-of-the-mill, so we’d suggest to skip that and save your tummy space for meat. And more meat.

#4 BORNGA KOREAN BBQ RESTAURANT

This is a slightly pricier option, but trust us – quality comes with a price and it is worth paying for prime meat. Bornga sits on the second level of Vivo City, and if you are lucky enough to get the seats by the side, you’ll enjoy dinner with a view of Sentosa.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

Over on the menu, the BBQ meat selection ranges from S$22 to S$45. We loved the Kimchi Jjigae (S$15) and Bibimbap (S$15). And what we really like about Bornga is the experience – they serve you a whole selection of veggies and chillies, as with premium salt and sauces to complement your BBQ meats.

#5 DAESSIKSIN KOREAN BBQ RESTAURANT

Opened by the folks behind Ministry of Food, you can expect Daessiksin to be an affordable joint for casual dining. The Korean BBQ buffet includes beef short ribs, beef short plate, beef ribeye, beef bulgogi, pork belly, pork collar, pork marinated ribs, and chicken bulgogi, an assortment of side dishes as well as free flow of drinks.

K. Cook Korean BBQ Buffet at Orchard Central is one of the most affordable Korean BBQ buffet restaurants in Singapore. On weekdays, the Korean BBQ buffet is S$14.90++ /pax for lunch, and S$24.90++/pax for dinner.

During dinner, you can find a selection of meats like marinated pork collar, chicken, pork belly, pork collar, marinated beef short rib, beef bulgogi, beef plate eye and marinated beef ribeye, while lunch has considerately lesser beef options. Granted, the quality and variety of meat are not the best, but given the prices, there is really nothing to complain about.

Lunch: S$14.90++ (Mon to Fri), S$24.90++ (Sat, Sun, Eve of PH, & PH).
Well, they may not have the cheapest buffet prices (S$26.90++ for lunch, S$36.90++ for dinner) in town, but hold your horses and do not just strike them off your list yet. Let us tell you why.

#8 MIDNIGHT HOUSE

A pretty nondescript outlet along Mohammed Sultan, Midnight House is one of those under-the-radar Korean BBQ restaurant and one that we go to when we want to avoid the crazy crowds in town. Nothing fanciful about this place; just your regular meats and side dishes, but we love its simplicity and how the service is very prompt.

Over on the menu, you have your usuals – Beef Rib (S$32), Pork Belly (S$21) and Black Pork (S$29). And what warmed our hearts so was the Soybean Paste Stew (S$15). It is definitely one of the best stews we’ve tried in Singapore.

#9 SSIKKEK KOREAN GRILL BBQ BUFFET

#10 SUPER STAR K

One of the most popular Korean BBQ restaurants in Singapore, Super Star K specialises in using charcoal grill for its Korean BBQ, and the authentic dining experience explains its popularity among Singaporeans and tourists alike. Perpetually packed and crowded, dinner might have to come with a little wait, but we will tell you it is going to be worth the while.

What makes Wang Dae Bak stand out from most of the Korean BBQ restaurants in Singapore is its use of charcoal to grill the meat. Besides the usual Pork Belly (S$18) and Spicy Marinated Chicken (S$18), Wang Dae Bak also offers other meat selection including Beef Tongue (S$28), Boneless Prime Rib (S$28) and Herb Wine Pork Belly (S$20).

If you like Korean BBQ buffet and do not mind paying slightly more, then Han Geun Doo Geun Korean BBQ Buffet Restaurant, an under-the-radar outlet at Chinatown Point, is for you. Well, they may not have the cheapest buffet prices (S$26.90++ for lunch, S$36.90++ for dinner) in town, but hold your horses and do not just strike them off your list yet. Let us tell you why.

Not only does Han Geun Doo Geun serve a selection of decent meats, it also has a buffet station with 12 to 14 banchan (side dishes) that you can stuff yourself silly with. AND, ala carte servings of noodles, bibimbap, topokki, and Korean soups and stews.

This alone is reason enough for us to come back to Han Geun Doo Geun. Spoilt with so many choices, it is one meal to luxuriate in for a satisfying Korean affair.

In the soup and stew menu, you can find the usual suspects such as Kimchi Jjigae, Sundubu Jjigae and Doenjiang Jjigae, but what surprised us is the inclusion of the pricier Korean dishes like Samgyetang (Korean ginseng chicken soup) and Budae Jeongol. And we had thought they would be diluted, so we were really caught by surprise when we tasted the richness of ginseng!

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>//

Well, it might be an expectations thing – on one hand, we know for sure that they won’t serve top-grade ginseng at buffets, so when we found out it actually tastes better than decent, we were pleasantly surprised. Likewise, if you go with very high expectations and set connoisseurs’ benchmarks, then this won’t be for you.

The dinner buffet has 11 meat options (pork, chicken and beef) which include Bulgogi, Galbisal, Chadolbagi, Samgyeopsal, and Dwaeji Galbi. All free flow, and all-you-can-eat. It was a whole night of meat fest for us, and it was one dinner that we really enjoyed and look forward to return to.

K. Cook Korean BBQ Buffet has just opened at Orchard Central for a few months, but it has already earned the loyalty of many customers for a simple reason. It is one of the most affordable Korean BBQ buffet restaurants in Singapore.

Dinner: S$24.90++ (Mon to Thu), S$26.90++ (Sat, Sun, Eve of PH, & PH).

When I have cravings for Korean food, I like to go to Crystal Jade Korean BBQ Buffet. Their Nex outlet has a decent buffet spread and you can get the usual marinated meat and fish. The food is nothing fantastic, but it is acceptable for the price (weekdays: $24 nett for lunch, $28 nett for dinner; and weekends: $28 nett for lunch, $32 nett for dinner). There is also a students’ promotion $16.50 nett for lunch buffet on weekdays.

I’m pretty sure that I’ve eaten enough to keep me going till 2012. But somehow it is impossible for me to say no to Korean BBQ.

Ssikkek Korean Grill at Novena Ville is one of the places on my list of Korean BBQ Buffet in Singapore that I’ve always wanted to try. At just $12+ for lunch, and $22+ for dinner, it is one of the cheapest Korean BBQ Buffets in Singapore.

The diet can wait till I’m done with the buffet!

Like most places, the Korean BBQ Buffet at Ssikkek comes with an assortment of meat and seafood, as well as cooked food like fried rice, soup and banchan (Korean side dishes).

Nothing about the food is extraordinary. It was decent, but nothing was so exceptional that I’d dream about it at night. That being said, Ssikkek Korean Restaurant offers a value for money buffet, making it an ideal place to go if you are on a budget.

From what I understand, Ssikkek Korean Grill is the sister restaurant of the popular 2D1N Soju Bang at Tanjong Pagar. Between them, Ssikkek is definitely the better choice since the queue is relatively short.

At the ground floor of Link Hotel in Tiong Bahru, is Blue Garden Korean BBQ Restaurant. It currently occupies the space which was used by the now-defunct Persimmon Restaurant. Much of the interior remains intact: the black and white tiled floor, and the kopitiam-style furniture.

Korean food lovers will be happy to know that Blue Garden restaurant offers Korean BBQ buffet during lunch ($19.90) and dinner ($26.90).

My definition of buffet: be prepared to eat a lot.

The Korean BBQ Buffet offers free-flow of Korean dishes like Korean Ginseng Chicken Soup, Kimchi Pancakes, Korean Spicy Rice Cakes (Ddukbokkie), and a variety of Kimchi (Spring Onion, Cabbage, Leak, Cucumber).

The truth is, Blue Garden’s appetisers are pretty run-of-the-mill. We tasted a bit of everything as we were saving our stomach for the highlight of Korean BBQ Buffet – MEAT!

… And of course, we were there for the meat. The Korean BBQ Buffet has free flow of Pork Collar, Beef Belly, Pork Belly, and three different types of Bulgogi (beef, chicken and pork). Read my lips: this is an all-you-can-eat-buffet.

Amongst the four of us, we ate enough meat to last us for a week. We ate, and ate and ate. We totally threw the diet plan out of the window – it was crazy! If you are not a big meat-eater, the Korean BBQ Buffet also has seafood and vegetables.

But trust me, you’d want to just go for the meat. Wow, I think I am very good at giving advice! Remember, just go for the meat.

I had some white rice to go along with the meat, but mostly I wrapped the BBQ meat in lettuce leaves. After a while, I was too lazy to put it nicely into the lettuce so I ate the meat directly from the BBQ pit. The bulgogi is delicious!

Considering that places like Crystal Jade Korean Restaurant charges $18 for a plate of marinated meat, I think that Blue Garden’s Korean BBQ Buffet is very reasonably priced. Looking for a cheap and good buffet? Find a group of friends who love meat and go for the Korean BBQ Buffet!

One thing to note though, the air ventilation was almost non-existence; our clothes smelled like Korean BBQ after we were done.
