More than just a religious holiday, Christmas is more often thought of as the season of giving and sharing. This is the period of time when people get together and make many fond memories together. For many Singaporeans, the best way to celebrate Christmas is to indulge in a Christmas dinner with their families and close friends.

However, the idea of hosting a Christmas dinner party sounds daunting—so many difficult recipes to master, having to set up the Christmas tree for the festive vibes and not forgetting all the planning that goes into it. Not everyone enjoys the process of planning for a party and we understand that.

Before you start giving up, we would just like to share some tips on how you can Plan To Host A Fuss-Free Christmas Dinner Party and still have lots of fun.

#1 PREPARE EARLY

Ever heard of the quote, “By failing to prepare, you are preparing to fail”? No matter how simple your Christmas dinner is going to be, it is necessary to make preparations beforehand.

For example, you should be making your sauces and chilling your beverages ahead of time and not on the day of your party because these things take time and you do not want to put yourself under unnecessary stress.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

#6 ASK YOUR GUESTS TO BRING FOOD TOO

By asking your guests to bring simple sides such as salads and dessert, it helps to lighten your burden as you will have fewer things to worry about. The best part about having a semi-potluck party is that you have more variety on your Christmas dinner table!

#7 DO NOT OVER CATER

Lastly, do not over cater! Every year, we generate lots of waste just simply throwing away all the leftovers from the party. While you can definitely keep your leftovers in the fridge, why not make things easier for yourself by preparing the right amount of food. Not only are you cutting down on food wastage, you are also saving costs!

Everything about The Marmalade Pantry impresses from its stellar array of delicious food and its cosy spaces that provide a temporary respite from the hectic city. But beyond indulgent afternoons and solid meals, they also have a series of festive offerings available for a takeaway feast that’s fit to grace any house or office party.

Looking for Christmas centrepiece roast that’s sure to have your guests in total awe, try out the Whole Roasted Turkey with Fresh Herbs that surprises with its irresistibly moist and succulent meat. Brined in a sauce comprising salt and various aromatics for a long period of time, flavours are allowed to penetrate deep into the meat, making for a proper roast fit to grace your dinner table.

Whatever kind of Christmas gathering you’re looking to throw, you can count on The Marmalade Pantry’s repertoire of festive treats and delicious roasts more than sufficient to fit the merry-making bill. And for our dear readers, you get to enjoy a 10% Mastercard discount when you quote ‘ladyironchef10’ upon checkout online or when you call to make a booking.

WHOLE ROASTED TURKEY WITH FRESH HERBS

In light of any Christmas get-together, there’s really only one way to do Christmas dinner properly, and that’s with a big, bold, roasted turkey. Roasting it yourself is often a hassle and getting around the whole dryness part is even more so.

Promising a tender, succulent turkey that is neither bland nor dry, is the Whole Roasted Turkey with Fresh Herbs (S$98++ for 4.5kg). Brined in a salt mixture with fresh aromatics for at least 6 to 7 hours prior to marinating, stuffing and roasting, the flavours are allowed to permeate all the way through, ensuring that the end result is flavourful, properly seasoned and most importantly, moist.

Stuffed with orange wedges and mirepoix—basically, a fancy French term to mean carrots, onions and celery—the turkey develops a mild sweetness with a pleasant zing to it.

MAPLE HONEY GLAZED HAM

An intrinsic staple at any festive gathering, Christmas just wouldn’t be the same without a whole ham of sorts. Boasting a marvellous sheen of basted honey and stubbed with cloves all around, the Maple Honey Glazed Ham (S$88++ for 2kg) is one that won us over with ease.

Mildly smoky with a coating of honey that adds a buttery sweetness to it, this centrepiece delight was nicely balanced in both its aromatic qualities and taste. The ham was soft with a pleasant bite to it, which makes having leftovers (provided there are any left) in a sandwich just as enjoyable too.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins> <ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins>

CAULIFLOWER & BULGUR SALAD

With every Christmas roast there are a wealth of side dish options and accompaniments that go alongside it, most—take salads for example—are interchangeable, and contrary to what you may believe, not all salads have to consist of leafy, green veggies.

A salad that comes with a surprising amount of flavourful depth and a subtle smoky note to it, is the Cauliflower & Bulgur Salad (S$20++). Roasted prior to being tossed with the bulgur wheat, the salad takes on a subtle burnt note that gives the salad depth.

GARLIC MASH

Don’t be fooled by its plain appearance. Loaded with butter and fresh garlic, the Garlic Mash (S$20++) is heaven on Earth for anyone who loves a good mashed potato. Mashed to a smooth consistency but doing well to leave some chunks in, the mash complemented the roast meats beautifully.

ROASTED WINTER VEGETABLES

While Christmas is often more of a meaty affair, greens are an integral part as well, and you would do well not to forgo their Roasted Winter Vegetables (S$20++).

Most of the veggies that go into this heaping pile are flavoured with honey and thyme butter which give it a sweet and savoury tinge along with a velvety sheen. A vegetarian option that stands up well on its own, we dare admit that being vegetarian or not, this delicious side dish option is something that we’d readily gun for in a heartbeat.

<ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: inline-block; width: 336px; height: 280px;" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="9464314347"></ins><ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block; text-align: center;" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="3885138539"></ins><ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block; text-align: center;" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="3885138539"></ins><ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block; text-align: center;" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="3885138539"></ins><ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block; text-align: center;" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="3885138539"></ins><ins class="adsbygoogle" style="display: block; text-align: center;" data-ad-layout="in-article" data-ad-format="fluid" data-ad-client="ca-pub-1199323522078805" data-ad-slot="3885138539"></ins>//

#6 SHOP FOR CHRISTMAS DECORATIONS AT DAISO

To add some festive vibes at the venue, get your Christmas decorations such as table placements, ornaments and even Christmas trees from Daiso, supermarkets or online websites before the big day hits. Some wholesale party suppliers are also able to offer cheap disposable cutleries and plates.

10-MIN CHOC CHIP COOKIES WITH BERRY COMPOTE

Ingredients (serves 10):
3/4 cup all purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
5 tbsp softened unsalted butter
1/4 cup granulated sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1 egg
1/2 cup choc chips
1/2 cup bluerries
1/2 cup strawberries
2 tbsp fresh milk

What to do:
1. Mix flour, baking soda and salt in a mixing bowl. Then, slowly beat butter, sugars and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth. Do this by hand with a wooden spoon only.
2. Mix in the egg. Fold in chocolate chips after.
3. On your baking tray, add the mixture in with a tablespoon at a time.
4. Cook in toaster oven for 7-9 minutes (check every 2-3 minutes to make sure it doesn’t over bake).
5. While waiting for that to bake, make your berry compote.
6. Add in strawberries and blueberries into a sauce pan with one tablespoon of brown sugar and one tablespoon of granulated sugar. Cook until the berries have softened and the mixture is reduced a little.
7. Turn off heat and mix in milk slowly. Stir and let it cool.
8. Once cookies are done, remove from baking tray and let it sit and cool down for 5-10 minutes. Serve.

Note that once berry sauce is served on top of the cookies, you should consume them immediately. If you want to preserve the cookies longer, serve the berry compote on the side.

The holidays are drawing near and you will slowly receive more and more invitations to holiday or Christmas parties. To some, it is a magical event where you get to socialise and catch up with family or friends.

But to the rest, it is a much dreaded and unbearable social necessity that you just want to get over and done with. Well, we’ve been on both sides and we understand.

Because there will always be these 8 Types of People You Would Meet At A Christmas Party - whichever you are going to head to.

#1 THE AWKWARD

At every party, there is always the awkward one. You will spot him or her with their disposable plate and cup, sitting alone on the couch, or standing at random corners of the room – not knowing what to do nor who to mingle with.

#2 THE BORED/SLEEPY

This person will constantly be yawning or checking their phones every five seconds. When they actually do leave, their mood instantly changes; like they had never been this happy before!

#3 THE ‘BUZZKILL’

This is the person who is infinitely being the downer of the party. Be it cracking passive and aggressive jokes about how they don’t want to be at the party, or being the world’s worst food critic, this person is generally loathed by most for being a ‘buzzkill’.

#4 THE CHRISTMAS-ENTHUSIAST

This person will send you through a Christmas crash course of random festive-related facts about Christmas that you never knew about, while you stare blankly at this person who can never shut up about Christmas.

#5 THE DRUNKARD

He or she can either be a nuisance or an added entertainment to your party. If this person is a loud and annoying drunkard, chances are you will kick them out in no time. However, if he or she is a happy or entertaining drunkard, they could very well be the life of the party.

#6 THE FREE-LOADER

This person comes in to your party all nice and happy, until they start attacking all the food that is on the table. He or she will snap up all the best cuts or ask for second helpings, or even asking if they could takeaway any leftovers!

#7 THE GOSSIP QUEEN

The Gossip Queen (or King) will be floating around groups listening in to their conversations and casually gossips around, being that irritating nosy person that you should beware of. But of course, he or she may well breathe life to conversations too!

#8 THE ONE WHO COMES EMPTY-HANDED

Yipe, no presents from this one. He or she does not embrace “the season of giving” and will simply attend the party empty-handed. We usually loathe insincere presents such as mugs and paperweights, but these are things that you cannot even get out of this person!

One of the main problems everyone faces during the festive periods is to choose a suitable place which serves good food at reasonable prices. Most restaurants tend to jack up their prices during Christmas. And that has in turn deterred people from wining and dining during the supposed joyous occasion. But thanks to Santa we still have pocket-friendly options around, and nydc is one of them.

This Christmas, the household name has put together a Christmas menu which will run from 18 November till 31 December 2013, and for 2013′s theme, it is heavily inspired by Santa – to spread joy. nydc’s Christmas specials will definitely spoil your palates without having to break the bank! The small plates are only S$9.80, while the big plates range from S$16.80 for the Traditional Cornish Hen, to S$28.80 for a 230g Wagyu Steak Frites. A mini log cake is also available at S$6.80. With such irresistible offerings, there is really no need for second thoughts about stepping in to the comfortable diner with your loved ones to celebrate Christmas, and to create memories to conclude the year.

I had a Christmas party with 30 of my readers at nydc last week and we sampled 10 of the new festive dishes from nydc’s Christmas menu for 2013. It goes without saying that everyone left with very happy tummies and a night of memories to always remember.

Here are the highlights of the festive dishes that we had at nydc’s Christmas party.

Having a meal at nydc is not just about the food, it is also about sharing good things with the people you love. The Small Plates are meant to encourage communal dining, so that you have every excuse to order everything on the menu to share. Moreover, it is Christmas. Why would anyone refuse feasting?

For Christmas this year, nydc has two dishes for the Small Plates section – Elves’ Salmon Logs (S$9.80) and Elves’ Mini Meat Munchies (S$9.80). The former is a dish of crepe rolls with generous slivers of smoked salmon and cream cheese filling, while the latter is good ol’ meat loaves on toast topped with either brandied cherries or cranberry jam. It is really difficult to choose one out of the two, so my suggestion is to go in a big group and order both to share!

For main courses – or Big Plates, as they are known on nydc’s menu – choose from the Santa’s Wagyu Steak Frites (S$28.80), Merry Merry Mixed Grill (S$26.80), or Traditional Cornish Hen (S$16.80).

The Wagyu Steak Frites is my favourite. Grilled to perfection, the meat is tender and still pink on the inside; juicy and very flavourful. It comes with a trio peppercorn sauce, but trust me when I say the meat is good enough that you will not need the sauce. To top it off, lots and lots of skin-on fries served on the side for that perfect dish.

The Traditional Cornish Hen is not fancy or particularly sophisticated – it is traditional treat done right. The roasted Cornish chicken is stuffed with cornbread, and the dish is complemented with a cheerful spread of caramelised pineapple ring, red cherries, brussels spout, and carrots. It is simple, comforting and very satisfying.

If you are like variety, go for the Merry Merry Mixed Grill – a generous platter of beef sirloin, lamb ribs, king prawns, and sausage, served together with grilled pineapple, salad, and fries. Besides offering a huge spread, what we like about the Mixed Grill is that the lamb ribs are grilled with spices, and they are not gamey at all. All in all, nothing crazy in terms of flavour combination; just a very hearty mix which is wonderful for that festive indulgence.

As everyone knows, nydc is a dessert cafe, and their mudpies and cheesecakes are extremely well-loved and popular. nydc has specially created a new Tutti Frutti Mudpie (S$11.80) for Christmas this year. Sprinkled with colourful gummies, the Tutti Frutti ice cream on a Graham crackers base is the undisputed way to end your meal. Just looking at the colours alone uplifts the spirits, and the sugar rush is so comforting for the soul.

nydc is also introducing two festive beverages for Christmas this year. The Gingy’s Butter Rum Bath Elephanccino (S$8.80) is a tummy warming concoction of butter rum, paired with an nydc gingerbread man. You’re encouraged to let Gingy soak in the hot bath before you enjoy! Christmas Carollers’ Cheer (S$8.50) is a refreshing mix of fresh strawberries, bananas and strawberry cheesecake ice cream and milk, providing a sweet touch to the meal.

And what is Christmas without log cakes? Go for either the good old fashioned chocolatey Holly Choco Log (S$6.80/mini log, S$48/800g), or the Jolly White Choc Cheese Log (S$6.80/mini log, S$48/800g). The latter is a tasty combination of cream cheese centre and white chocolate cream coated log; simply irresistible.

The good people behind nydc have been working very hard to revamp its new menu this year - which now offers over 30 dessert items, 20 hot food items, four kids’ meals and 40 beverages. While it offers many new dishes, the core of nydc still remains the same – that is for diners to celebrate life everyday, be it for families and loved ones to gather for special occasions, or to simply take a little time out on working days for a hearty meal together.

While nydc may be a casual restaurant chain, quality of every dish is never once compromised. The food is consistently good, and most importantly; it is affordable and suitable for all occasions.

Special Promotion for ladyironchef readers: When you order 1 Big Plate + 1 drink from nydc’s Christmas menu, quote ‘ladyironchef nydc’ to get a complimentary Christmas Tutti Frutti Mudpie (worth S$11.80). This offer is valid from now till 31 Dec 2013.

Christmas is just one week away, and I am sure everyone is already in a holiday mood. To me, Christmas is about giving and sharing, it is the time to connect with your family and loved ones. And of course, it will never be the same without a Christmas log cake.

From the traditional chocolate Yule log cake, to innovative creations such as a Gula Melaka log cake and a Mont Blanc rendition, we’ve rounded up a list of Christmas Log Cakes in Singapore that you must try.

‘Tis the season to eat log cakes.

Canele Patisserie

If you are looking for something different, go for Canele’s Dawn Log Cake ($38 for 500g, $68 for 1kg) – a classic Mont Blanc infused with orange marmalade, caramelised meringue, chestnut cream and mascarpone rum mousse.

Bakerzin

For a rich, chocolate-y Christmas log cake, I’d recommend Bakerzin’s Christmas Dream ($48 for 1kg), a wonderful combination of Amer sponge cake and brandy granche.

Besides that, Bakerzin also has two other log cakes – the Fruity Joy ($52 for 1kg), a refreshing pairing of apricot and mango with a luxurious milk chocolate mousse; and Midnight Delight ($56 for 1kg), a pretty rendition with white chocolate mousse and dark chocolate.

Christmas is almost here, and I am sure everyone is busy shopping for gifts and planning for parties. From the hottest restaurants to nice and affordable cafes, we select a list of places to consider for Christmas Dinner in Singapore.

‘Tis the season to be fatty.

Au Chocolat

Au Chocolat at Marina Bay Sands is one of those places where you can go for brunch, lunch, dinner or late-night desserts as they have a big menu which can cater to every occasion.

This Christmas, Au Chocolat is serving an all day menu which includes Wild Mushroom Soup; a delectable platter of Parma Ham with Rock Melon, Foie Gras Mousse, Smoked Salmon Roulade, and Fried Mozzarella Ball; main courses such as Turkey Breast, Roasted Beef Loin and Duck Confit; and Au Chocolat Log Cake for desserts. You can either go for two courses ($42++), three courses ($52++), or all four courses ($68++).

Akanoya

Akanoya specialises in robatayaki where customers sit around an open counter and choose the fresh ingredients from the spot. The chefs will then grill the ingredients like seafood, meat, and vegetables over charcoal, and serve it to the customers using a long wooden paddle.

If you are still thinking of where to go for Christmas, bring your partner to Akanoya. You can be assured of a fantastic meal.

1 Tanglin Road
#01-01 Orchard Parade Hotel

Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse

Nestled amidst the Mohammed Sultan enclave, Bistecca Tuscan Steakhouse – the first and only Italian restaurant specialising in steak – makes an exciting new addition to the semi-fine dining scene in Singapore.

Bistecca’s Christmas Dinner Promotion, Tuscan Roast, is available at $128++ (for lunch and dinner). The Christmas Day menu starts off with an antipasti and home-made Tortellini, and this is followed by a massive mixed platter of Spit-Roasted Lamb, and premium Bistecca Wagyu Roast Beef and Roast Turkey. For desserts, end off with the Christmas Fruit Pudding.

If that does not appeal, order the signature Fiorentina Wagyu T-bone Steak ($178) from the ala carte menu. Trust me, it’s very satisfying.

Cafe Melba

Housed in a beautiful glass building, Cafe Melba is chic and stylish, without being overly pretentious. It reminds me of PS Cafe, and while food here isn’t fantastic, I can see myself coming back regularly.

From 3rd to 24th Dec, Cafe Melba has a Yuletide festive set where you can enjoy a two course meal at $32++, and three course meal for $39++.

Il Cielo

To celebrate Christmas with a special candlelight dinner, I’d recommend Il Cielo at Hilton Singapore. The pool-side restaurant is small and intimate, with a view overlooking Orchard Road. I like that it has a central location, yet it does not feel like you are in town.

Il Cielo is offering a 6 course Christmas Menu at $188++ (24 & 25 Dec). This is the place to bring your date for a romantic Christmas Dinner.

Prego Restaurant

Prego at Fairmont is celebrating the holidays with Christmas-themed menus complete with turkey, chestnuts and of course, classic Italian desserts. The three course festive set lunch from 21 to 31 Dec (excluding 23, 25, and 30 Dec) is $55++. For Christmas Day Brunch, it has a scrumptious spread with free flow of Prosecco, house wines and cocktails at $168++.

Riders Cafe

There’s no better place than Riders Cafe if you are looking for a place to go for Christmas brunch. Riders Cafe at Bukit Timah Saddle Club has always been one of my favourite places in Singapore. Its is extremely popular during weekends, so be sure to go early to get a table.

Salt Tapas Bar

Within the past year, we have seen so many new Spanish restaurants opening on our shores. Among them, Salt Tapas & Bar by Chef Luke Mangan is definitely one that you must visit.

I’d suggest going there for lunch as it has a value for money set menu ($33.50++) which comes with flatbread and three tapas per person.

252 North Bridge Road
#01-22A Raffles City Shopping Centre

The Cornerstone

I chanced upon The Cornerstone when I was having brunch at Canopy Garden & Dining Bar, and since then, I’ve been back a few times. It has a very nice and cosy interior, which makes it a good place to chill out and have a great time with friends and loved ones.

This three-course menu includes Slow Poached Turkey Ballotine, The Royal Mail’s famed U.S.D.A Prime Roast as well as sweet treats such as a Vanilla & Chocolate Yule Log and Warm Date Pudding.

The 5-course Tasting Menu has more options and you can expect Poached Quail Eggs, Grilled Hokkaido Scallops, a choice of Cod En Papillote or Oven Roasted Lamb Loin, and end off with Christmas desserts Sherry Trifle and Mont Blanc.

The Fabulous Baker Boy

One of my newer cafes in town, The Fabulous Baker Boy is located directly opposite Liang Court. I like that it is not too crowded during weekday dinners as not many people know about them because of its semi-secluded location.

On its menu, you can find main courses like prawn fettuccine ($18), lamb shank ($24), pastrami sandwich ($10.50). For Christmas, it has a Xmas Special Sandwich ($10). And of course, this being a bakery cafe, there’s no way you can leave without trying the cakes. The Ab Fab Red Velvet Cake is one of the best I’ve had in Singapore.

The Foothills #01-15
70 River Valley Road, Singapore 179037
Tel: +65 6694 8336

Triple Three Restaurant

Christmas is the perfect excuse for us to let loose and indulge. And what better way to spend Christmas than to go for a buffet feast?

Triple Three at Mandarin Orchard has a Christmas buffet lunch with free flow of wine and beer at $78++, while the Christmas dinner buffet is $88++.

333 Orchard Road
Level 5 Mandarin Orchard Singapore
Tel: +65 6831 6271
Daily: 12noon – 2.30pm, 6.30pm – 10pm

Valentino Ristorante

Regular readers should know that I am a big fan of Ristorante Valentino. I am going to go out on a limb and say that they are one of the best, if not the best Italian restaurant in Singapore. And since they have recently shifted to a bigger space at Grandstand (formerly Turf Club), I thought I’d introduce it again. If you have been to Valentino before, it’s time to drop by again. If you have never been, I’d strongly urge you to give it a try for Christmas this year.

Greenwood Fish Market Bistro

Reliably good and affordable seafood, a genre that is increasing difficult to find in Singapore. Greenwood Fish Market at Greenwood Avenue, is one of my favourite places to go when I want something simple, and not too expensive.

They do not have any special Christmas menu, so you can just order from the ala carte menu. Starters like Deep Fried Calamari ($10.95) and “Live” Oysters ($3.8 – 5/each) are hugely popular. For main courses, you can choose from a huge selection of fresh seafood and fish (starts from $18.95). After all, they are a fish market bistro.

L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon

Having a world class meal at L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon, is definitely a foodie pilgrimage. As at all L’Ateliers around the world, the French restaurant at Resorts World Sentosa has contrasting and sexy red and black interiors, and you can choose to dine in either the casual counter-dining side, or the more formal table side.

And of course, dining at L’Atelier de Joel Robuchon comes at a price. The Christmas dinner menu on the 24th & 25th December 2011 is available at $300/pax. Reservations required.

1 Twenty Six by One Rochester Group is a hip and trendy place to see and be seen. Being one of the few fine dining restaurants in the East, it is a good option for people if they do not want to travel all the way to town. I’m not a big fan of the food there, but there’s no denying that it has a nice ambience for a special occasion.

Starting December 1 at the beach-front restaurant, at $70++ per head the Christmas Eve Brunch features the likes of Creamy Shellfish Bisque, and Char-Grilled King Prawns with Truffles.

I know there are people who put food as the main priority and it doesn’t matter if there isn’t any ambiance. But we are talking about Christmas after-all. It’s a special occasion, so choose a nice and romantic restaurant for your Xmas Dinner. Christmas is just another excuse for us to feast like kings and queens.

Here’s a list of Romantic Restaurants to have your Christmas Dinner for 2

Krish the Restaurant

Housed in a beautiful colonial bungalow, Krish at Rochester Park is a fine dining restaurant that offers South Asia influenced European cuisine. The mains are within the $30-40 range, and they have a special Christmas dinner menu at $115++ per pax from the 6th to 27th Dec 2010.

9 Rochester Park Singapore
Tel: +65 6779 4644

La Cantina in Venezia

I mentioned La Cantina in Venezia in my list of the best Singapore Italian Restaurants briefly before, so if you need a nice restaurant for a romantic Christmas Dinner, do make your reservations soon as they are almost booked for Christmas eve. They have a special Christmas Set Menu ($98+ for 7 course) on the 24th & 25th December 2010. Otherwise, order from their normal ala carte menu: pastas & pizzas are in the $20ish range.

1 Netheravon Road
#08/09-02 Changi Village Hotel
Tel: +65 6546 9190

Pamplemousse Bistro & Bar

My friend was just raving about the food at Pamplemousse Bistro & Bar at Dempsey road to me that day. Their special 7 course menu for Xmas Dinner is available from the 21th to 26th Dec 2010, at $118++ per pax. Actually, most of the Dempsey hill restaurants are nice for a romantic dinner.

Spruce Restaurant Bar

Nestled in the heart of Tanglin road, Spruce restaurant is a nice charming place to have dinner after work or brunch during the weekends. The Christmas Dinner promotion menu is available from now until the festive holiday, otherwise you can choose to order from the ala carte menu: mains start from $20 for a pasta, and $30 upwards for meat.

Some possible restaurants for Christmas Party Venues in Singapore:

If you are celebrating this Christmas with your family, or a group of friends, chances are, you are probably cracking your brains trying to find a place to throw a party without bursting the budget. I know exactly how you feel, because everyone has been asking me to recommend suitable restaurants for Christmas Party Venues in Singapore for 2010.

Prive Bakery Cafe Bar

Located just 3 minutes drive away from Harborfront, Prive Bakery Cafe Bar at Keppel Island is a gorgeous place for brunch, desserts or drinks. If you are planning to throw a Christmas party for a group of friends (less than 50 pax), call them 3-4 days in advance to make a reservation.
