Fans of Korean food would know that Tanjong Pagar is home to many authentic Korean restaurants and popular Korean barbecue joints. The latest addition to Tras Street is Daegweol, a new Korean restaurant that opened discreetly in August.

Those who enjoy hearty, traditional Korean dishes will find Daegweol right up their alley—their straightforward menu focuses on Korean delicacies such as Galbi-Tang (beef short ribs soup) and Suyuk (pork belly).

Daegweol also offers affordable lunch sets starting from S$16++. As the restaurant is currently still in soft launch, diners can expect an updated menu in coming months. READ ON

The name ‘Kabuke’ is a combination of two words—kabuki and sake. ‘Kabuki’ is a Japanese word which refers to classical Japanese theatre and this is reflected in the cartoon performers that are painted on the walls.

Sake connoisseurs will be pleased to know that Kabuke has a well-stocked bar with a collection of Sake from over 20 prefectures! As for those who are looking for some grub, they also offer contemporary Japanese dishes.

The beautiful modern all-day dining café reminded us of our good old days in Melbourne. It is worth mentioning staff members are attentive and friendly – a trait that Singapore’s hospitality industry greatly lacks.

We dropped by on a weekday afternoon and Fynn’s Café was packed with customers; expatriates and office dwellers make up the bulk of the crowd. No surprise there, since it is located just a stone’s throw away from the office building and JW Marriott Hotel.

New York’s cloak-and-dagger burger restaurant – Burger Joint – makes its debut in Singapore this week, with its first outlet at Amoy Street. The outlet will have a similar inconspicuous entry point, with a back entrance on Gemmill Lane instead of a flashy store front.

This follows their signature style, with their first outlet in New York City – at Le Parker Meridien – mysteriously located behind a curtain of the hotel lobby. Opening on 03 May 2016, the Singapore outlet will be their sixth outlet worldwide.
